My friend is gone. Emma Swan disappeared, like all of the other people I've seen mentioned. She was taking care of me and now I'm worried about her. Do people come back sometimes after they leave?
[ Regan's already outside when the TARDIS materializes, a school bag over her shoulder, stuffed with some of her things. She looks mildly upset by her situation, but seeing her new home and knowing she already had a good friend inside is helping. She waits patiently for the TARDIS to fully materialize before heading over. ]
I don't want to put the lessons on hold, but I may have to. This is going to take some getting used to. Can we pick up where we left off in a couple weeks? I'm moving in with a friend.
Sometimes. And yes, it does suck. My father was here briefly, then was gone, then he came back. But he and Mom are both gone now--I hope they went home, and can have some happiness.
Are you alright, besides the sudden loss? Do you have someone helping care for you besides her? Somewhere to stay?
[When The Doctor pops out - of The Tardis; he embraces Regan in a big hearts filled hug. He's sorry, so, so, sorry but also is reassuring her that she'll be cared for.]
I'm fine. I'll be living with friends of mine soon.
I'm sorry your mom is gone, and your dad. That's hard. I lost my dad back home. It's probably not one-hundred percent comparable, but I can imagine it sucks just knowing they've vanished.
I lost my dad back home too--it's a bit complicated to explain, but he died when I was a baby, so I didn't actually meet him until I was about 16. Mom...it was Mom and me for most of my life, until shortly before I came here.
Maybe it's not comparable, but the point is at least...as much as this sucks, we're not alone in thinking it sucks. Either of us. How 'soon' is soon, and will you be alright until then?
Soon. Any minute. He has a space ship time machine.
My dad died a few moments before I woke up here. He did it to save the lives of my mother, my younger brother, my baby brother and myself. I think saying that kind of loss sucks kind of underplays it but...
It really sucks. I’m Regan. If we met and I forgot, I’m sorry.
Does he by chance go by "Bad dog" or "Ten"? Or "Bow tie?" Or one of the doctors anyways? I'm familiar with them, and Rose is one of my close friends here. I probably won't be able to continue, but I've been part time with Torchwood since shortly after I arrived here.
It's okay, as I'm not sure we have. And really there are no good words for it, right? My name's Trunks.
It's nice to meet you Ms. Abbott. If you're around one of the Doctors and Rose, then we'll probably cross paths a few times. I know we just met, but if you need something, I'll try to help. We all have to stick together here, right?
[ Regan is all for that kind of hug, a frown on her face as she's trying to not get too upset. She uses the hug as a moment to steady herself before looking up at The Doctor and signing; ]
Are you sure this is okay? Me staying in the TARDIS?
I appreciate the warning. Do you lip-read, or sign? I, will probably rely on my communicator if needed to type with you, if that's alright? I'm used to dealing with people with the opposite problem of too sensitive hearing (including myself) so...[shrugs helplessly].
[Yes, he just typed that out to convey the emotion. Yes, he can be that awkward.]
I can lip read. And I sign. And The Doctor made me some devices that work with my cochlear implants so I can hear. Just sometimes I don't wear them when I'm overstimulated.
Like I said, I have too sensitive hearing already, so I can imagine.
[But Trunks will also turn on the video, so she can get a visual of who she's talking with. He's kind of distinctive with the blue hair at least.]
I'm half-human, half-saiyan--and saiyans have heightened senses including hearing. I'm glad to hear you have a solution of sorts already, as that was going to be my next question likely.
[Being sure to speak directly to the camera and clearly, so she can read his lips. Also giving a little wave with a shy-half-grin.]
[A big grin and the door to the Tardis is open; as The Tardis is waiting for Regan to make her way into the console room. Ten will follow and then escort Regan down the hallway - which will eventually lead to them both to a new door and new room for Regan.]
From what I understand, people go back to their worlds from the point in time they were taken from. If she was fine there, then there's no reason she wouldn't continue to be.
[Well, there's plenty of things that can go wrong, but that's true for everyone and he wants to be reassuring.]

[An honest answer, if not the most child-appropriate one.]
I'll understand should you wish to put the lessons on hold. Let me know if there's aught I can do to help.

He's a good man. I think I'll be okay with him. My name is Regan Abbott.

It's my Tardis. Why wouldn't it be?
