But... I don't understand, why did our friends and loved ones just leave us behind?

If so many found a way to go home, why didn't they tell us?

They... they didn't even say goodbye. Why wouldn't they say goodbye?

What if they didn't know they were leaving and it just happens? That sounds like a good reason for being unable to say goodbye.

This happened a lot where I was before. People'd be there one day, gone the next. No rhyme or reason for it. It just happened. It happened to a guy I was dating, it happened with my best friend and her boyfriend. They were just gone. So, I threw myself into something that made me happy and ended up with a lot of hand-made clothes.

It's hard to deal with people just leaving, though, so if you want me to show you how to build an amazing blanket fort in the living room of your house, let me know. I'll bring everything you need.

Sadly, yes. But that just means you have to fight for as many good moments as you can.

[ Evie's brain is working on something for the girl, something she can hold onto and keep in case people do leave hear behind. Something she can remember them by. ]

[ Evie was adopted by Regina over Christmas and if this girl considers her mother her mother? Evie considers her family. She has since the start. ]

We're going shopping. I'm aiming to distract you for a while today. Sound like a plan?

I... I don't know. Will shopping help? [Alice has never had much in the way of money to ever consider "shop therapy" an option being all of seven.]

It helps when there's family involved. Even if you don't buy anything, it's just good to get out of your own head for a bit. Figuratively speaking. What that means is getting away from negative thoughts for a while. Giving yourself something positive to look at so that you're not solely focused on the bad things for a while.

It's likely they didn't have a choice about leaving, sadly. So they couldn't either tell us, or say goodbye. I wish I could offer some kind of explanation behind that, but that's the best I've been able to find.

[It's a good thing Evie added the "figuratively speaking" because Alice, ever the literal one, was about to argue she quite liked the head she had and wouldn't put it past this place to let you, in fact, get out of your head. She nodded. She wasn't sure how you got away from something in your own mind, but Evie would likely know much better than she would.]

Alright... then, let's go shopping. [Alice suddenly had a plan in mind.] I want to buy pretty stationery! Then I can write everyone I love a letter and if I suddenly leave, then you will have at least gotten a goodbye.

I think that those who summoned us here - allowed those gone to return back home.

So - we just have to make the best of this place while our time allows.

As far as any of us know--yes. It's one of the many questions we have no answers for. I know it's not at all reassuring, and I wish I had better comfort.

Are you alright, so to speak? Do you have housing, food, company? Are you safe?

I don't want all of them to be someplace worse. This isn't fair.

I'm safe, yes. My parents are still here and I think the plan is for me to live with Evie if they both disappear.

What should I do if all of them leave, though?

I dont understand, but it doesn't make it any less painful everytime it does happen.

But I doubt they had much of a choice. Those that care and know us would know to say goodbye and if they found a way to get out. That's my guess anyway.

I have no good answer for that either, sadly. How old are you? Are you able to live on your own, get a job, or is that not an option?
