[Action for Fayren]
[Broly had been slowly exploring his new surroundings, but that had largely just been wandering the estate that the Brief kids owned, and eating anything they offered. However, he grew restless and began to wander. He still wore his purple form fitting pants, green ear tied around his waist, and a button up flannel shirt, unbuttoned and probably a couple sizes too small. He made his way to Fayren, where he quickly found himself staring at the various food vendors wanting to sample their wares, but not exactly really wrapping his head around the concept of money quite yet. Instead, he'll just stare longingly until someone stops him.]

[A name Mai did not recognize from her timeline. A face she could not recall encountering. A presence that, until that day, she had only really encountered in distant passing. One that Goku seemed to vouch for. And that was granted access to the estate. For these reasons, if she was not entirely comfortable with the arrangement, then she could at least accept it.]
[Ironic that when she finally came upon him, it would be off in Fayren. She was off from work that day and running errands when she saw him staring at the vendors. Knowing what she did of Saiyan appetites, it didn't take much to guess the situation:]
...hungry?
[Her approach was cautious. Not wanting to startle him. Allowing time to adjust to her own presence before asking the question.]

Y-yeah... I don't have any money though. I'm still getting used to the idea anyway...

It took me a while, too. We spent so long scavenging for our food...I'd almost forgotten what it was like to earn and pay for it.
[A soft chuckle escaped her. She wasn't entirely joking about that, either; at least, when one scavenged, one could immediately keep what was found. But here...food could be right in front of you, and somehow still inaccessible.]
I have a little. If there's anything in particular you want to try, it's on me.

[Broly hesitates before pointing out a large hunk of meat still on the bone just slowly roasting over a fire.]
Thank you.

You're welcome. Now, let's see...
[She approached the stand selling the meat, taking a quick survey of a few...smaller portioned offerings, before settling on a pair of what appeared to be chicken-like drumsticks. Lightly breaded, with a hint of gravy sauce on top. She indicated for both this and the meat Broly asked for, barely wincing at the price as she took out her bag and paid it.]
[It took a moment longer to assure both meals were properly cooked, but when everything was set, she turned back to Broly to hand him his meal.]
Consider this a belated 'welcome to Genessia' gift.

Thank you.

most of the time. Still...][She pressed her lips tightly together to hold back a laugh, and when that didn't work, rose a hand to hide it as best as she could.]
...I'm sorry. It's just...you remind me a lot of Goku. Especially when he was younger.

You've known Kakarot for that long?

[Then again, it was also possible he was simply surprised at such a long-standing connection between them.]
That's right.
Though...I have to admit we weren't always on the same side. The people I was with in those days...we ended up opposing him pretty often.
no subject
Mm... does he do that often? Fight with people and let them live? Father always told me I had to fight to kill...
no subject
To a fault.
From the stories I've heard, it seems like every friend he's ever gathered started off as someone who tried to kill him at least once. [For most, that might seem an exaggeration. Even Mai wasn't so sure.] I can't speak for your father since I never met him, but it's possible he simply lived a very different life than Goku did. Grew to believe different morals.

Father was... driven by revenge. King Vegeta exiled me as a child and Father was focused on having me take revenge because of it.
no subject
I'm sorry you had to live through that. [A genuine apology, for what it was worth.] I knew people who were slowly consumed by the idea of revenge. It always changed them. In many cases, it destroyed them completely.

It's fine. Life on Vampa wasn't easy, but it had its good times too. [Unconsciously, a hand drifts to the knot holding Ba's ear to his waist.]
I'm just... sort of confused by Kakarot. All my life, I was told the point of fighting was for a larger cause. Survival, revenge, conquest... the idea of fighting for fun like Kakarot seems to is so... weird to me.
no subject
He doesn't just fight for fun. I mean, yes, that can be his motive a lot of the time. But to him, it's about getting stronger.
Probably because of all the times he'd had to fight to protect Earth.
no subject
Mm... if he can control that kind of power...
[Sorry Mai, he's not exactly talkative yet regarding the whole going on a rampage that even god saiyans had trouble stopping just yet.]
no subject
I'm sure he could teach you.
Just say the word, and you'll have a sparring partner as often as you like.

[A hand comes to scratch at his neck unconsciously, faded burn marks still visible from the last time the shock collar was used.]
Even as a kid, whenever I fought, I couldn't control myself. Even after Father cut off my tail, I nearly killed him on multiple occasions, and there isn't anything that could really... stop me here, I don't think.
[Especially now that he's tapped into... whatever that rage was when he saw Paragus dead...]

[She still didn't seem overly concerned, however. If anything, it was like a new puzzle presenting itself.]
Then again, Goku's somehow managed to train without causing too much damage. Trunks and Bulla too. [Because that seemed to be her only worry. Not any thought of the Saiyans getting seriously hurt. She knew their potential too well to underestimate them. Especially Goku.] I'm sure he must know someplace you can go where no one around you would risk getting hurt.
