[The feed kicks on to the image of a young woman in a uniform. Though when the audio begins, there is a booming feedback that makes her flinch and create a greater distance between herself and this device.]

Apologies for that... My name is Natalia, and in the interest of saving time... Where's a good place to get a drink so I can process all that's happened to me thus far?

[While she wanders around Genessia city, the wayward captain follows a map and taking in her surroundings, trying to figure out exactly where she is. She makes the mistake of passing by an electronic store, where the feedback from her surgical implant and the radios in the store create a booming noise that force her to create a distance again and get away from that shop.]

Of all the times for my tricorder to stop working... I need to get to Nova City and make necessary adjustments.

[It's a big enough nuisance that Natalia flags down a random passerby.]

Excuse me! Sorry to bother you, but can you point me in the direction of Nova City, please? I need to go there for medical reasons.

((OOC note: Natalia is Starfleet, but let's call her uniform a disguise due to the software used to design her lacks any Star Trek themes))

Depends on what you're looking for, but luckily there's like 18 bars. We never run out of that, at least.

Hmm... Something smooth and strong, but not so strong that you're smashed about half way through a bottle. Something you'd treat yourself to after winning a fight, or something.

Know any place that's favored for that kind?

What kind of bar scene do you want? Closest to your location, or are you willing to jump city? Looking for familiar surroundings, or to jump straight into how weird this can get?

[That may have piqued the explorer in her.]

I like familiar, but... How weird are we talking? As an explorer, I'm all for boldly going where the unknown awaits.

What are you used to?

A bunch of different alien species crowding around a big roulette-type game table. Others stopping outside the window to do jumping-jacks. Another playing an accordion as a away to advertise his snacks just across the hall.

[Actually, that's probably "normal" for her.]

Go to Everglade. [And suggest a few bars there.]

All right, thank you! But, hmm...

[The distance between her and the device closes a bit while she tries to find a map function. Again, the noise feedback happens and she had to abort the impromptu search and back off.]

Okay, so, last question; Which is Everglade from Genessia?

On second thought, it's a little dangerous. When you said you explore, how do you get there? I keep forgetting how safe some worlds are compared to others.

[You know she's sorry about that! A quick check for the pendant she found, she glances back to the device, and hesitates. Can she really divulge so much? Well, she already mentioned aliens, so what the hell.]

Well, you see, I'm a starship captain. We sail among the stars and explore whatever new world we happen upon and learn whatever we can about the life there. We've encountered hostiles before, so I am armed and good in a fight, if you're worried about that.

[Nod.] Okay. Sounds like my last girlfriend. Just keep going West down Maple or Nettle, honestly. Genessia's laid out pretty easily, luckily. Nova will be probably more familiar to what you're used to, but Everglade will be a bit weird.

You might like Fayren a lot too. Go to Fairy Haven if you go there. Fayren has dragons and dire wolves. But Everglade is more ghosts and werewolves, and the technology is a lot different.

Obviously, don't shoot anything that doesn't try to actually eat you first. Most are pretty used to humanoids.

[This went from weird to scientifically impossible. ...Fairy Haven sounds cute though... She's just going to mentally note to visit some time.]

Yeah, ghosts and werewolves are probably the closest to what I've encountered before. But, no worries, it's against our beliefs to fight before exhausting all our options for peace.

[Nova City? Another one she'll make a note of.]

[Natalia may or may not have been talking to the purple child with the cat, but nonetheless, when she mentions Nova City, he turns toward her as if she was addressing him. He's very familiar with Nova City, and he answers her question with polite enough formality.]

Yes, I can lead you there. Follow me.

[Not that he usually runs errands for people—but Lotor does like having useful tasks to accomplish, and he is interested in learning more about various people and their worlds.]

You will? Thank you very much, this means a lot to me in the long run.

[She does give him curious glances. He has ears like a Vulcan but the skin? It'd be rude to just scan him. She begins to follow him.]

My name is Natalia. And who might you be?

[She looks like a human, which is a species he's become familiar with since arriving here. He knows now that humans frequently say things like "thank you" and "I'm sorry", which are far more infrequent phrases where he's from. Nonetheless, he knows how to reply.]

You're welcome. It isn't difficult for me.

[He doesn't hesitate to introduce himself in turn.]

I am Prince Lotor of the Galra Empire.

[No one seems to know about the empire here, but he would like for someone to respond to his identity with recognition someday. That would be interesting.]

Galra Empire? I'm afraid I'm not aware of it. I'm from what we traditionally call the Federation. Can you tell me about Galra?

[She's no stranger to empires, however. It's something, right?]

And I've never heard of the Federation.

[Lotor can be—diplomatic. There are certainly aggressive and aggrandizing ways to describe the empire, but he decides to be more moderate, remanining polite and serious.]

The Galra Empire is a spacefaring civilization, traveling through the universe. We are warriors and explorers. Emperor Zarkon has been our ruler for thousands of years. I haven't met anyone else here who knows about us.

There's something Galra has in common with the Federation. We're both spacefaring explorers. Warriors? Not so much in a strict sense, but we will defend ourselves if we need to. We do have Federation members who are warrior species, though.

But living for thousands of years? It's hard to imagine for someone like me. I'd very much like us to share what we know on the universe, but... We have too much standing against us to do that.

[Like a lack of a starship with a library for example.]

Combat and victory are important to all Galra. We follow a strict training regimen.

[He's pleased he remembered to use the time measurement "years". Most people use different increments of time, but he's getting used to that.]

So there are different species in the Federation? Galra live longer than most other species I know of. That's one of the reasons we were able to spread our influence so far. I know humans have much shorter lifespans.

[He says this more matter of factly than with a sense of superiority. He thinks other species are interesting—unlike most other Galra he knows.]

We can share some things. I've learned a lot about other species since I came here. There's a library in Genessia that has books from other worlds.

[That was one of the first places he visited when he arrived.]

Yes, there are thousands of worlds counted among the Federation membership. Our closest non-Federation allies are some of the fiercest warriors I even had the honor of fighting along with.

[Genessia's library has info on other worlds? That is something she has to investigate, because that doesn't sound possible.]

I'll need to check out the library then...
Oh, perhaps you can show me some Galra martial arts sometime? In return, I can show you mine.

Thousands, working together?

[Lotor is thoughtful for a moment. The Galra don't actually have any allies. The Federation sounds like a larger alliance than any he's ever heard of.]

We've encountered thousands of worlds in our travels as well. Many of them were warriors.

[He decides to be diplomatic for now and not say that they also conquered them. He's more diplomatic than most Galra.]

The data in the library is contained in books, but it is very interesting.

[He feels he should give her warning, because he had found the library's technology ancient. Interesting, but outdated by his standards.]

I can do that. I'm well-trained in all our fighting styles. I'd like to see how they fight in the Federation.
