Moonlit Beach Party (backdated, shhhhh)

What: Rip wanted a moonlit beach party for her birthday, so that's what she's getting.

Thanks to a full moon and a bit of angel magic, clusters of blue and white bioluminescent algae light up the water from the ocean floor, bright enough to see well enough to surf or swim without issue. If getting wet isn't your thing, a small schooner lit with colorful paper lanterns and fairy lights is moored near the shallows, and there's a dinghy on the shore to take people out to enjoy a bit of night sailing.

A series of small bonfires dot the shore, surrounded by stumps for sitting on and tables spread with roasted or barbecued foods of all sorts, a birthday cake and open coolers full of ice. There are several bottles of booze and soda, but if you want to get yourself really smashed you have to bring your own. A couple of the coolers have a fingerpainted hazmat symbol on them, and those with sharp noses will notice the smell of blood, this time available in several different flavors thanks to a shopping trip to Haunted Eatings. A little ways off to one side of the bonfires a volleyball net has been set up, and a little ways off to the other side there are several cans of glow in the dark body paint and a battery-run boombox sitting next to a couple large pieces of cardboard that have been taped together to make a DIY dance floor. The boombox does have a mic, so if you're in the mood for a round or two of karaoke, feel free.

Of course, having all of this glowing fish food concentrated in a single area is going to draw the attention of some larger predators. A pair of monstrous anglerfish crash the party in the wee hours of the morning, deciding that humans and humanoids might be better at filling their bellies than microscopic algae. Will there be another round of fresh roasted fish on the menu? Or will you find your end in the dark guts of something that looks like a dentist's nightmare?

Birthday Girl : OTA

[That evening Rip was absolutely mesmerized by the efforts Namur put in for this party. Everything from the moonlit beach to the way the algae lights up the water just steals her breath away as she takes it all in before rushing in to enjoy all the effort put in to give her a birthday worth remembering for once.

Rip can be found in the water or along the beach enjoying herself in nothing more than a nice swimming suit and a black lace cover up , enjoying the festivities.

At some point she's can be seen rummaging in one of the coolers with the hazmat sign on it, pulling out one of the flavored bloodbags (Chocolate) and enjoying the refreshing drink.

If someone is really lucky, they might catch her near the body paint, curious about it and potentially using the 'dance floor' with a willing partner...

Over all, Rip is looking to have fun today. The more people that join her, the better.]

[Ace is already over at the body paint area, looking over the options. He's gotta get colored up, he's gotta show off, but when he sees Rip all of his attention goes right to her.] The guest of honor! Happy birthday, you wanna get painted up?

[It's pretty much customary by now, right? Namur's an enormous, eight foot tall brute of a fishman who thinks a good way to ask a girl to dance is to literally just walk up to her, pick her up, and take her over to the music. At least he has the grace to put her back down gently, and make sure she has her feet under her before fully letting go, or pushing her out so she can spin for him.]

Said angel sometimes loved that her Gifts could be used in such a wide variety of ways.

Putting her power into action hours before the party to ensure a bright enough glow, however, might have drained her a little more than she had expected. Despite it’s abundance of natural Light, plantlife was much more complex than water, even with the ocean’s untamable fluidity, and bringing that much algae to life and maintaining it… Perhaps she should have practiced more before she had promised her help.

Nevertheless, the beach is aglow in a stunning display, more alive than usual… particularly wherever the birthday girl seems to wander. Though she’s keeps her distance for much of the evening, Dove has done quite the job tracking Rip’s every move and ensuring the glow about her any time she’s near the water, even if she does lose herself in the sound of the waves every now and then.

The angel, of course, can be found mingling just about anywhere, a drink in her hand and a smile on her face. More than once, she lets herself be tugged into karaoke, much preferring a duet over a solo act, and can often be found dancing with friends or laughing as the tide tries to drag her under…

Later in the evening, when she favors the glow of the algae over her own fading energy, she can be found at her own smoldering (if a bit tiny) bonfire, feet just in range of the waves and eyes tracking the way the moonlight glitters across the surface as she sings to it under her breath.

[While Dove's busy keeping up the glow of the ocean for most of the evening, it absolutely won't do for her not to at least bug Rip at least once.

When the crowd around the vampire has finally thinned enough, the angel makes her way over, nudging the other woman with her hip before she bites into the slice of cake atop the plate in her hand.]

A- Ocean Fun

[Namur's all over this party, and he's all over in the ocean. He will definitely be catching some waves, making his board hop over the curl of the wave and doing stunts in the shallows. He probably biffs it about half the time, but it's worth it to be able to say he pulled off a rodeo flip. He can definitely be knocked off his board if someone feels he needs to be put back in his place.

When he's not schooling everybody in the art of surfing, he can be found relaxing on the schooner, knocking back a long-necked bottle of rum while he waits for a favorable enough wind for a quick jaunt out to the open sea.]

B- Shore Leave

[He can take or leave the food, what interests him most are the activities on land. Most of his time he'll spend tearing up that DIY dance floor, so feel free to come challenge him or gawk at admire his killer moves.

Of course, he'll be a hell of a lot more badass looking if he's covered in glow in the dark paint. And he makes for a really big canvas. He didn't bother wearing a shirt so there's plenty of thick skin to work with. Bonus points if he winds up covered in flowers.]

[Somehow she's not surprised that Ace is looking to get painted and laughs when he focuses on her.]

[Her attention turns back to the paints and it's not hard to see just how curious she is about it.]

Sure, I've never done zhis before zo I may as vell indulge at my own party.

[He's young, well built, and he shuns shirts like they're cursed items. Of course he's going to paint himself up. But Rip comes first, and he is more than willing to help her out here.] You need a hand? I'm pretty good at stuff like this.

[When she's picked up, she automatically knows who would do so and relaxes in his hold. It should say something about just how used to being picked up to him she is by now.

Once she's set down and let go, she spins to face him, grinning and happy.]

[Laughter bubbles up at the gentle hip bump while she glances towards Dove.]

Danke Dove. I zhink zhis might be my best birthday yet.

[She's in high spirits herself, and glances over the woman's shoulder at the water.] Any preference in color? We figured blue suited you best, but obviously it's your choice.

[She nods and slips out of her cover up to just stand there in her swimming suit while she moves to put her hair up. There's.. a lot of hair to braid and put up, both of which she's done with practice ease. ]

I vouldn't know vat to paint so, hafing zomeone else do zhe designs might be easier.

[Well, they weren't wrong. Blue was Rip's favorite color.]

Perhaps a little green mixed in vith zhe blue?

[She was curious to see what that looked like.]

[A slow glance over the ocean and a flash of gold in her eyes... and suddenly, the glowing 'stars' are a mix of teal and royal blue, bright and dancing.]

Like that?

[Rip turns her attention back to the glowing 'stars' just so she could watch them shift color and smile.]

Yes, exactly like zhat. It's gorgeous.

[Yeah, that's a lot of hair. He admires it a little as she braids it, but then goes to picking up the paints so he can work on a design. He's not sure what she'd want, but he has a couple of ideas already.] Where do you want it? All over? Just a couple of spots?

[As much of a pain her hair can be, Rip definitely never wants to cut it. So, she makes due as she considers what or where she wants the paint..]

How about all over? I vant to give you free reign to design. Just, don't uze zhe reds or oranges please.

Yeah, got it! I'll keep those out of the picture. [Ace grabs a brush and some pale paint. He thinks flowers and vines all over is a great look, maybe some butterflies too.] You got anything else you don't want? I've got an idea and I'm ready to get working otherwise.

I zhink that's about it.

[She grinned and started to relax.]

Vatever design you haf in mind, I'm sure I'll love it once you're done.

Got it! [Ace is a gentleman about this, careful and considerate. The brush moves over her, first a pale green forming vines and leaves. Up the arms, around the legs, up the back and framing the chest. He wants for it to dry before he does anything else. It'd be a shame if it smeared. And it's her birthday, so it's got to be really cool looking.] Give that a second, and I'll get the next part going. [As soon as that's dry enough, yellow and blue flowers will be added.]

[Considering her suit was green, the vines definitely added to her look so far as she felt every brush stroke. In some places, it tickled and she had to stifle a giggle so he could work.

She nods and waits for the next part and once he starts, she marvels at the yellow and blue flowers that take form as he works.]

You likin' it so far? [Ace makes sure that the flowers are dried, and then details them, adding extra bits of color to make them stand out more. And then it's onto a few scattered butterflies.] I think we're done!

Of course I do. You vould know if I didn't.

[She stifles another bout of giggles as he adds in a little more color before finishing. Rip twists around to look at the vines and flowers, admiring them and the butterflies decorating her skin.

With how pale she was under the moonlight, the vibrant pale colors really stood out. ]

It's beautiful Ace, thank you~. Now I just haf to show off your vonderful paint job.

[Eliot isn't surprised by the contents of the hazmat cooler. He's honestly just here to see Rip tonight, so isn't going to act squeamish or pitch a fit. For once, Eliot is actively trying to make Rip happy with him.]
