House Hunting | Action | Closed
After a rough start Ronan, Gansey, and Noah search for a new Monmouth. Home away from home. This may take them a while because they're natural explorers and picky about where they share a space. Also, Noah gets distracted easily now that he has a body.

Jobs were something they all had to get which was odd for Noah in particular because he hadn’t had one very long back home before his death, and now he somehow managed to get three. With income from all three of them they would be able to find somewhere else to live. Someplace all three of them could live in together.
Noah had made a list of places, marking them off the night before when he couldn’t sleep so they could check them out. Some were busts, some were swooped up but there were a few more bigger places that they were on their way to visit. Navigating this place was still hard sometimes and that was why Noah was walking ahead of the other two with a map in his hands that he consulted every other landmark just to be sure they were going in the right direction.
Gansey and Ronan were a few feet behind him talking.
“Really, Gansey you should be reading this thing. You’re better at directions. I found the places, so I’ve done my job.” Glancing back he held the map out to Gansey and looked at Ronan in particular, “What have you done~?”

Instead, he hummed thoughtfully, hurrying his steps so he could look over at the map. "I could be of more help if I knew what we were looking for." Gansey was never certain if his talent extended to finding housing, but he'd been unusually lucky over the years. "Tell me what you want and I'll try to find it."

He shifted the sandwich and juice into one hand and when Gansey took the map he pointed to the general area of a few other places that were clustered together, “These here. One is some sort of ranch and the others are just normal houses. They all seemed close together so I thought we would save those for last.”
Once that was taken care of, he took Ganseys former position and let their leader, lead. He took a bite of the sandwich and held it up in offering to Ronan, walking closer to him than most people liked to. “The ranch I think, looks bigger....”

He pretended to not be interested in anything in particular and yawned. Mostly he was taking in the environment, the people, weird and weirder, missing Adam, and making sure Chainsaw wasn't wandering too far. The initial shock had started to wear off, but he still wasn't sleeping much. Mostly he watched Gansey and Noah sleep.

Taking the map, he glanced at it, but didn't really focus on the lines printed on paper. "I need more to work with than just an address." Finding an address on a map was simple. Finding a temporary home that would feel like home for the three of them was more complicated. "Tell me what you want it to be... what your ideal would be if we can't have the Barns and Monmouth and then I'll try to find it."

At Ganseys prompting, he shrugged, “That’s more you guys than me. As long as i have a bed, a kitchen and a bathroom that isn’t in the kitchen, I’m content. Ronans the picky one. Besides, i end up in one of your beds anyway.” He shrugged again because by now they both knew he was a cuddler. It was just his nature.

Gansey found things because he was searching for something deeper than an object or a King. It was something he needed that wasn't material. It was emotional. A feeling. An idea. A connection. Ronan had thought a lot about this when he couldn't sleep. Yes. He had a talent for finding things and one day he would find Glendower.
"Now imagine it has a bathroom that isn't a kitchen. For Noah."

Stepping out of the way so he wouldn't get in anyone's way, he closed his eyes. Focusing the way that Ronan had suggested, he started envisioning what they wanted, letting out a snort when Ronan mentioned the bathroom. Letting out a slow breath, Gansey reached for the faint feeling that vibrated in the air, the call that had always guided him toward lost artifacts.
When he opened his eyes again, the location was fixed in his mind even though he had no idea where it might be. As soon as he was certain that he wouldn't lose that compulsion, he was off, gesturing widely toward the direction that hummed through his thoughts. "This way. I don't know what it is, but it wants us to find it."
no subject
And then Gansey was gesturing and taking off, and Noah blinked a few times before following. He would let Ronan walk with Gansey though and linger a little further behind. This, he was used to.

He didn't know what would have happened to him if Gansey and Noah hadn't been here. He didn't want to know. This was how it was suppose to be. With one achingly obvious exception.
He looked at Noah and waited for him to follow Gansey before falling in behind.

As he tried to target the specific 'voice' that was calling out to him, he didn't bother checking to see if Noah and Ronan were following him. Gansey knew that they were behind him, probably keeping an eye out so that he didn't do something foolish like step in front of a vehicle or walk into a wall. "It's not one of the houses. They aren't what we're looking for."
As he continued following the nagging sensation in the back of his mind, he led them to the Windate area. This must have been where the ranch Noah had mentioned must be. He paused as he took in the rolling land, knowing they might have a long walk ahead of them. "It's one of these, but I don't know how far away it is."

Picking a little at the sandwich, he focused on Gansey but he didn’t say anything, just followed him as Gansey knew he would. He eyed some of their surroundings and finished the sandwich without tripping somewhere until Gansey paused. Noah slowed to a stop and looked over the hills, “Oh yeah, it’s definitely one of these. Ronan....can we have cows? Goats? Cute little bunnies?”
This was some place they could make more like home. “I’ll help take care of them...” he added with a little murmur of surprised excitement.

The open land spread out before them was a good reason to at least have a little hope this place could be something good for all of them. Not all, but for them. He thought of Matthew, Adam, even Declan often and found himself unable to be alone in his own room.
he stood next to Noah and Gansey and lightly elbowed Gansey, "I brought extra sandwiches. Let's go find it." He looked over at Noah. "Are you going to work to buy them because I have no fucking idea if I can dream up an entire farm." Cabeswater was far away. He hadn't even tried to dream anything and was almost afraid he wouldn't be able to.

The rest of his attention snapped back to his friends as Ronan elbowed him, earning a weak glare as he tried to pinpoint a general direction. He almost asked why Ronan was being so attentive, treating them both like Matthew instead of...
The possible reasons seemed more obvious and impossible to speak aloud. Instead he focused on Noah's request. "Do you know how to take care of any of them? I know Ronan could teach you, but some basic knowledge would help." As he spoke, he began walking, heading the direction that seemed 'loudest', guessing that eventually they'd find the place that had been calling to him.

“And you’re right. We have a farmer that can help.” He glanced at Ronan and grinned, “Just a kid is fine to start with. We can wait on the cows.”
no subject
He wasn't going to tell Noah there was a lot more to feeding and love and shitting where you wanted when dealing with farm animals. Not yet. He also didn't want to find out he couldn't dream anything here. If they found a place to live together today he'd give a try tonight.
Chainsaw flew overhead, swooping down to brush the top of their heads from time to time and exploring the more open landscape. He already knew she'd like it here instead of in the city.

But if they had just a few pets, they shouldn't have too many problems.
As Chainsaw tried to capture their attention, Gansey lifted his arm up for her to land on, pleased when she briefly settled before starting her antics again. "Our child is restless." So was Ronan. Technically, so was Gansey. He couldn't sleep in the quartes they'd been given. They were too small, the walls pressing close. They needed somewhere safe to try to turn into a home.
"Don't make Ronan live in sin, Noah. If you're going to have kids, you'll have to marry him." He was mostly teasing, letting the banter lull his senses until he turned toward one of the tracks that led to a ranch house. "This might be it."
no subject
The restlessness had a reason, he noted shoved his hands into his pockets, “He’s gotta ask me first. He’s the romantic one. Till then? Sin away~”
The Ranch that began to appear in the distance just...felt different. It felt like home. Noah blinked slowly, “That’s it.”
no subject
"I'm not a romantic." Whatever made Noah decide that he'd have to find out later. Along with whatever was going on in his head a moment ago. He still gave Noah a concerned look before gently nudging Gansey's shoulder as he passed. "You never proposed and we have a child together."
no subject
As they drew closer, he felt that Noah was right. This was home. Or their home while they were stuck in this reality.
Glancing over at Ronan as he complained about Noah's description, Gansey had to fight the urge to roll his eyes. Of the three of them, Ronan was probably the most romantic of them all. His ideals regarding relationships were more traditional than Gansey's and from what he'd noticed about Noah, he was as open as Gansey was to different types of relationship.
Leaning against Ronan when he nudged him, he pretended to glare. "You adopted a child without my permission. That does not require a proposal."
no subject
The rest of the walk was made much quicker, especially when he kept the Ravens black form as his focal point.
“...I’m open to sharing~” he added after a long while; mostly because he just remembered.
no subject
The 'us' had Ronan staring longer than he should at Gansey because he didn't allow himself to think about an 'us' when it involved Gansey.
"You love our child."
no subject
He'd been joking about marriage, and Noah was either continuing the joke or thought there was more going on between Gansey and Ronan than there really was. Managing to hide a flush, he glanced over at Ronan, trying not to think of teenage infatuation that he'd cast aside months ago. "I'm not sure which he was referring to."
Looking toward the house, he shrugged. "I do, but I didn't love that sludge you fed her."
no subject
“You’re too slow. This could be our home and Chainsaw is more excited than you are. Let’s go.” He said, tugging lightly, then glancing from one to the others, “Did you figure it out yet?”
no subject
He didn't answer the question, looking from Gansey to Noah and back to Gansey. He wanted to know what Gansey thought before he asked a question or answered Noah's.
no subject
If Noah was referring to the comment about marriage... His relationship with Ronan was platonic no matter what people had said in the past. He was Ronan's brother even if they weren't related. They bickered like a married couple but that didn't mean they were married in any fashion.
Knowing that Noah expected an answer, he decided to admit ignorance. "No, I don't think we have."
no subject
To the ‘Bossy’ comments, he just hid a little grin and squeezed each of their hands at the same time, brushing his thumb against the top of their hands, “You. Both of you.”
There was a different sort of affection Noah held for Ronan and Gansey than he did anyone else. And he knew deep down how they felt about one another, even if they didn’t know how to admit it. “I could share you. With each other. If that was something you wanted.”
