( arrival | video - the bay )
( When you are immortal, it takes a lot to phase you. When you are a glamorous, shifting individual who was previously imprisoned by the whims of a teenage girl, even something terrifyingly surprising comes as refreshing. The Goblin King's sense of displacement and alarm was quickly replaced by general intrigue and a sense of excitement. Particularly since his abilities were intact.
Once he received the generous welcome package and figured out the phone, he was almost giddy. A device to capture his own image? How spectacular!
He was positively radiant by the time he figured out the video feature, though admittedly, was going to need to work on framing.
He is wearing fantastical, flowing white, princely garbs, and essentially looks like an anointed elf who doubled as a glam-rock pop-star from the American 1980s. Black leather gloves reach to his elbow, and matching boots to his needs. Silver tights complete the outfit.
His mullet is unrivaled, at least, in his opinion. )
The magic rectangle suggests reaching out to others, though I have seen no others yet. These are much more advanced than my closest comparison! I have understood this mystery letter, but I'm afraid I'm unsure where to go next.
( His sing-song voice is highly accented; in fact, his entire appearance was intentionally crafted to appear as a famous British rock-star.You are welcome to break this fourth wall since the film actually does.
The irony of being uncertain in a strange land was not lost on him. At least his mysterious hosts were not playing his games. )

[Surely a miniature gold dragon wouldn't phase him either, right?]

Hello. Which city would you recommend?
no subject
[Maybe she should have introduced herself first?]
The city...it depends on what you favor. Fayren is good for people who know magic, and it has dragons and other magical creatures. Everglade is a city of dark creatures and dark magic. Werewolves and undead and...v-v-vampires...
Nova City is the one with all the advanced technology...and they do scientific research...even though the Schnee Company has a branch in several cities. Attleton and Genessia City...I guess they're pretty mundane? So, which city do you think would be best for you?
video;
[Though he did have something that was going on in his mind.]
Though I'm surprised no one was near the Bay.

(Video)
You are familiar with magic, I take it? Fayren may suit you best unless you are enticed more by dark power.

The manual says you can also use it to speak to people. Truly fascinating. And to think, a human came up with such a thing.

Yes, I was given a key to a place in that exact place. I'm afraid I'm unaccustomed to the modes of transport offered. I could do it myself in an instant if only I knew where I was going.
( A beat. ) Are you familiar with magic?

[Spoken with the surprise of somebody who doesn't get many compliments about what he's wearing - or indeed at all. He even glances down at himself as if confused.]

It seems I have a key to a place in Fayren, so someone must have known I am familiar with magic.
( And being generally fantastical. ) I suppose that is the logical place to start. But why start there?

Sure is!
Wait--
[He puts a hand to his head.]
What's wrong with my hair?
[It was short and neat and indeed very boring in style.]
no subject
[She nods in agreement.]
It seems that Fayren is the logical place to start. But...what do you mean "why start there?" Where do you want to start?

( He gives a gestured bow. ) I am Jareth, King of Goblins. ( As far as where he's from, it's easier not to ask. )
I've been trapped adhering to he whims of a little girl for so long that I must confess, I'm not eager to rush straight 'home'. Why not look around, take in all there is to see?
Except, perhaps, those places you mentioned which weren't so safe. ( "Werewolves" sound disgusting. )

( Maybe hairdresser would have been a better occupation choice... )
no subject
[But he looks human. Is he not really human? Or does he not need to be a goblin to be their king?]
Well, there's no harm in exploring all the cities. Sometimes I do that. And...each city has its own regular danger, and then there are...crazy things that happen everywhere from time to time...
You said you're familiar with magic, so you can defend yourself...right?

I could send you a car, but you will probably need more help than that.
(Glancing down at the little Dragon in her lap, she feeds the child a piece of meat.)
I do not like it, I admit. It was used to curse me once.

YOU HAVE NOW!! WHY NOT GO TO TORCHWOOD!? OR FAYREN??? BOTH ARE VERY COOL PLACES, BECAUSE I WORK IN ONE AND WILL PROBABLY WORK IN THE OTHER, RESPECTIVELY!!!

I mean clothing wise you look like your world is not earth necessarily, but couldn't imply anything else.

[ He looks impatient. ]
I am whatever I'm desired to be. Though not by just anyone. [ Though still a Goblin on the inside. In theory. ]
no subject
[ He considers a quip about a talking dragon who can use a 'phone' but thinks better of it. Be civil, Jareth. ]
My magic is more elusive, illusory, and...creative. But yes, I am capable of avoiding harm.
Re: Video
... ... ]
As a matter of fact, Fayren is precisely where I am heading. I've been given a notice I'll be living there. And also 'working'.
[ That concept gives him slight concern. What sort of king 'works'? ]
no subject
[But what does she know about goblins?]
I see. My magic is...basic. I can cast an offensive spell, and I can heal, but that's about it...
no subject
[ It's complex. So he looks like David Bowie in D&D Elven attire. It's canon. Ask the screenwriters *shrug*. ]
Basic? That's fascinating. Besides, how many around here are also dragons?
no subject
[She scratches her head with a talon.]
Really? That's...interesting...
Well...Qubine is the only other dragon from Sornieth here. He's a lot bigger, and he can control ice. There are many dragons who are native to Fayren, but they have nothing to do with us...

Re: Video
LUCKY YOU! BECAUSE I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AM HEADED TO BE ITS GUARDIAN! LOOK ME UP WHEN YOU ARRIVE; IF I'M NOT TOO BUSY BEING GREAT AND IMPORTANT, MAYBE WE CAN HANG OUT!!!
