[Did you subscribe to The Genessia Tribune? Did you even remotely wish you had a newspaper or some other form of media to refer to for news, weather, and current events? Then you're in luck! There's a paperboy riding through the streets of Genessia flinging newspapers onto doorsteps or, if you're unlucky, through your window. Even remote locations in the other cities will still get a paper if one of the residents ever wanted one. The Paperboy is just that dedicated.]

Guardian Parade

Though the debates didn't have a full roster of competing candidates, voters were nonetheless entertained by the hilarious attempts to bake a cake on the spot. Sadly, three kitchen fires have been reported after attempts to recreate Papyrus's infamous 'Spaghetti Cake' went horribly, horribly wrong.

As for the candidates themselves, voter response was overwhelmingly positive for each of the winning guardians. Satou Kuroneko, a long-standing favorite due to her outstanding work ethic and relentless dedication to keeping the peace, was able to retain her position as there were no other viable candidates. This didn't put a damper on celebrations nonetheless, as the high school extracurricular club Girl Power put on a great show last Friday handing out pink sugar cupcakes on the street corners. "I think it's great to show that young women are capable of protecting our city and families, you know? Plus the fact that she's totally into pink? Super cool," said Girl Power president Sonya Trefoil.

This enthusiasm was shared in Attleton for newcomer Rapunzel, who also lacked competition but not supporters. "She's so sweet," says mother of five Rosie Ladd. "I think it's wonderful that she's working so hard on making people's dreams come true. The kids all love the name 'Snugly Duckling.' Every time we drive past that building they get so excited!" Citizens are optimistic about her presence, and seem to be looking forward to her guardian debut.

The voting in Everglade turned out to be extremely close between Remilia Scarlet and Phibrizzo, followed by underdog Ted Satchel. But in the end, Phibrizzo took the lead. Voters are torn, with several vampires and goths threatening to move upstate to Ghost Glen to protest the loss of their previous guardian, but as of yet none have actually made good on said threats. When interviewed, local herbalist Lucius Butcher said, "At first I couldn't believe that people were seriously going to vote for a little kid. But then I thought, 'What's creepier than a little kid with a lot of unwarranted power?' Nothing, that's what. So yeah, I'm okay with it."

In Fayren, voters were surprised and saddened when previous guardian Azura stepped down from the competition, with many shocked to find that a living skeleton, Papyrus, had won by default. Skippy Brooks, an elven citizen who runs one of the many bookshops in Fayren, scratched his head in puzzlement when questioned about his response. "I really don't know how I feel about the undead being in a position of power like that. Animated skeletons typically aren't great, to put it lightly. But after watching the debates, I'm not all that worried anymore. I'm pretty good at puzzles." Though the initial voter response was lukewarm, citizens are gradually coming around to the idea.

Meanwhile, Nova City was overjoyed at the uncontested election of Grievous to the position of guardian. Grievous has been striving for leadership during many elections in the past, and also served as a city deputy for several months. "This city needs a guardian who's more sympathetic to us non-human folk," stated Smuckers Yuckers, who boasts of six arms and three legs itself. "I mean, I don't cry myself to sleep at night over it, or have nightmares where everyone is pointing and laughing at me with their disgusting two arms, and I definitely don't need therapy because come on, that's crazy, I'm not crazy, you're crazy...but it's cool that he's got that trauma centre up and running. Just in case. I don't need it, though."

Will there be a guardian election for Windgate Creek in the future? And will we see [the ink has run together for this section, making it impossible to know what the reporter was hoping to see]? Genessia City

M'Lady - Reports of tampering with the Red #40 food dye (typically used when making, say, pink Girl Power cupcakes) has been tampered with. The culprit is still on the loose, while anyone who eats one of the Girl Power cupcakes will likely be susceptible to brainwashing suggestions, doing anything they're told to do no matter who tells them, or how outlandish the command. A level 4 payment is offered for anyone who can track down the person responsible.

Nova City

Pamphlet Threat - Somebody has been posting leaflets around the city, claiming that they will 'Destroy the System' and cryptically warn of greater threats to come. A level 2 payment is offered to apprehend the doomsayer.

Everglade

Doll Dilemma - One of the residents of the Isle of Doll has managed to somehow slip past the wards and is running loose in Everglade. The doll demands that handsome young men take it on a date, and those who refuse to comply with the doll's demands are being tied up, painted on their faces with really lousy attempts at clown make-up, and left on the street for people to ridicule. A level 2 payment is offered for whoever can capture or placate the doll to put it back on the Isle.

Fayren

Mer-Thief - The stock of water-breathing potions in every magic store has been either destroyed or stolen by a rogue merperson from Lake Bellaheim who definitely doesn't want any visitors who don't belong. Initially posted as a level 2 payment, this has been escalated to level 4 as the previous bounty hunter who pursued this person was killed and left to rot on the shore of the Sapphire Lake near the Elven settlement of Doeshire.

Attleton

Boardwalk Butcher - A serial killer has been lurking near the Boardwalk, sporadically targeting victims who traverse this area alone at night. No one is sure what links the victims together, but it's believed to be anyone proficient at roller blading or skateboarding who winds up as the next victim. A level 5 payment is offered to anyone who captures the killer, dead or alive.

Windgate Creek

Tumbleweed Menace - A merry prankster has been putting hornets to sleep and encapsulating them in the center of tumbleweeds before turning them loose. Wherever the tumbleweeds stop, the jarring motion wakens the hornets, where they viciously sting the closest living person or animal. A level 2 payment is offered for this bounty.
