2nd Experiment [Accidental Video]
Theta! Get away from that computer, we don't need a repeat of last time!
[A certain red-haired scientific genius comes running into screen. Or, what might be on screen if her device wasn't currently being chewed on by one of her Pokemon. It's hard to tell which one from this angle. But, what can be seen is her holo-computer being prodded at by a very peculiar pokemon.
At some point, Washu managed to capture a Porygon and they were...getting used to each other.
Somewhere in the background, her Braixen is lounging on the couch in her nice apartment in Nova City, just idly playing with his stick and watching the petite red-head encase the porygon in some sort of forcefield that was throwing off sparks as they had a little bit of a show down. One Washu easily won several moments later when the Porygon relented and turned its back on her. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair.]
Maybe I should have named you Ryoko instead of Theta.
[It's about that time she realizes her device is being used as a chew toy and sighs as she walks over and saves it from some unknown mouth.]
With so many mouths to feed, I might need to find a job sooner than later. Anyone know if there's a need for scientists or professors anywhere?

...well, that it's one of the weirdest poke-things ever.]
ISN'T THAT ONE MOSTLY MADE OUT OF DATA? FOOD SHOULDN'T BE TOO EXPENSIVE. YOU CAN JUST FEED IT MEGABYTES!
no subject
Actually, the fact that it's made out of data from over twenty years ago make it that more interesting for me to study now that I have one of my own.
[She settles on a floating cushion and tugs the forcefield captured Porygon onto her lap before popping the bubble and holding it there. Theta.. isn't happy and might just be sulking. Not that its easy to tell...]
Besides, I don't want to over feed Theta. Maybe I should start with bits baby's first bytes.

REALLY?? MAYBE YOU COULD WORK FOR THEM!! SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAVEN'T GOTTEN ALL THE BUGS WORKED OUT YET.
[Great, now he's thinking about virtual bug types.]
YOU CERTAINLY HAVE SOME COOL TECH! I WISH I HAD A POKE FORCEFIELD. SOME OF THEM...THEY BITE TOO MUCH.
[Darn Deino.]

Oh, I might just do it anyway. Rewriting AI code is simple enough if you can figure out the base algorithms used to create the sentient mind of the intelligence in question.
[She has experience.]
But, I might just leave Theta the way it is. They seem to be happy enough with their obsolete coding that I may just have to note the basics for routine maintenance later on.
[As for the forcefield...]
I've noticed. It's a manifestation of my own abilities that comes in handy when dealing with destructive creatures.
Re: video
[...Despite looking like she's twelve.]
Besides, if you're willing to learn then I wouldn't hall yourself stupid. Only idiots refuse to learn something new.

UM...WHATEVER YOU CAN DO TO MAKE IT MORE GENIUS, THEN!!
[Way over his skull, all this nerd talk.]
OR NOT! OH, GUESS IT'S NOT MASS PRODUCED FOR SALE. OH WELL; A FORCE-FIELDED POKEMON CAN'T DO MUCH ANYWAY. IT'S TOO BAD YOU CAN'T CHANGE EVERY POKEMON'S NATURE. I HAD A REALLY NASTY GYRADOS, AND HAD TO TRADE HIM OFF.
I CAN UNDERSTAND BEING DANGEROUS AND BRUTAL. I'M LIKE THAT!!
[Or so he tries.]
BUT HE WAS JUST TOO MISBEHAVED.
no subject
[She's curious to find one for herself now....]
Most beings that are dangerous and brutal have their reasons. Well, most do. I've met one or two that were just plain psychopaths.
no subject
YEAH I THINK HE WAS JUST LIKE THAT. AND WITH SO MANY OTHERS WITH BETTER NATURES, WHO HAS THE TIME!?
I FEEL BETTER ABOUT DITCHING IT ALREADY!! THANKS FOR THE PEP TALK, PORYGON-OWNER!!
no subject
Really? I'm finding the more challenging ones with hasty natures to be more entertaining. They remind me of a few people I know back home.

What do you go?

I HAVE A SOLOSIS! IT HAS TELEPATHY, WHICH I THOUGHT WOULD MAKE IT GOOD AT PEACEKEEPING. ALAS, IT'S TOO NAUGHTY.
SAME WITH THIS PANPOUR. IT WOULD RATHER GOOF OFF THAN WATER THINGS.
THEN THERE'S SURSKIT (WHO BECOMES MASQUERRAIN - VERY COOL!) AND LOTAD. THEY'RE ACTUALLY QUITE GREAT, I JUST HAVE TOO MANY!!

WHAT A SADNESS.
OH WELL, KEEP ME POSTED IF YOU DO! MY RANCH COULD USE THE BEST HELP IT CAN GET, AND IT WON'T HAVE IT TILL DIGLETT GETS THERE!
video;
[Because that probably would narrow options down.]
Without that, I can just say there are universities and I believe a place that exists to study this world.
Re: video;
Though, I may be a little rusty teaching classes. It's been awhile.
video;
Though I assume Biochemistry is different to Chemistry?
no subject
[She makes a thoughtful noise, trying to decide what that means.]
Like the study of... physical stuff? Am I right? [Silly shakes her head,] I don't even know what it is.
no subject
[Washu sighs and then claps her hands after a moment. A large screen pops to life behind her as she quickly dons a professor's hat and grabs a wooden pointer from somewhere.
On the board are a bunch of physics formulas and the basic definition of what the science of physics pertains to.]
Physics is the natural science that studies matter, its motion and behavior through space and time, and that studies the related entities of energy and force. So in a matter of speaking, yes. It's studying Physical 'stuff' and what influences its motions.
Now, the one I specialized in was Astrophysics which has to do with the behavior of heavenly bodies and entities and what influences them within the galaxy. Admittedly, my research did go a little beyond the known universe at one point but, that's a different scientific principal all together.
Re: video;
the chemical composition and properties of a substance or body.
[She grins a little and there might be a large holo screen popping up in the background with various formulas and even a periodic table on it.]
Essentially? One has to to with living things, the other is a little broader in what kind of chemical reactions you might study.
Re: video;
Ah, and so both are used in different ways too. But either ay it really sounds like you would know a lot that many people I a sure would be interested in learning.
