There was a slight hiss before the lid of the pod slid open and after quite some time the small figure inside finally stirred and rolled over. It wasn't for several more minutes that his situation registered and Taiki squeaked in alarm. Then he wiggled his way to the edge and looked around with large, fearful eyes.

"Sanshi??" Taiki called softly and looked down at his shadow where she normally was. There wasn't even a hint of her presence and it made him even more afraid. Had he gone back to Japan somehow? But there wasn't any lakes like this that he'd ever seen. After a long internal debate the young teen finally stuck what he'd found beside him in his pocket and started wading his way carefully out of the cave. Perhaps he'd be able to see where he was then.

[Kairi had always checked the Bay at least twice a day for newcomers and today she was lucky enough to be able to spot someone coming out from it. She was happy enough to wonder on over and welcome them at least.]

[Coming out he certainly was! And he might look just a little bit overly thoughtful as he tried to figure out what to do with the sopping soft shoes and bottoms of his pants when he made it to shore.

But then he was being addressed by a girl and Taiki straightened quickly. She wasn't dressed like she was from the Kingdoms. More like...]

Ah... thank you? My name is Taiki... or Kaname... I'm not really sure. Where is Genessia?

You're not sure what your name is? [She doesn't think that is a good thing, then again she was a girl who doesn't remember her past.]

As to where... I actually don't know.

Ah, no! That is...

[Taiki trailed off and looked around frantically for some sort of hint to help him out. But then looked a bit defeated when none appeared.]

I was known as Kaname in Japan, but I found out I was really supposed to be Taiki. I don't know if I'm in Japan or not so...

[Fidgetfidgetfidget. Why did he feel so unbalanced even if Kairi was probably only a year or two older than him?]

[Kairi had no idea what Japan was, but already assumed it was another world from hers altogether, so she knew not to question such a thing. But it did make answering the question a bit trickier.]

I can't say this is Japan, as I know it's called Genessia. But for all I know there could be something outside of this city that we don't know about. I wish I could be certain though.

[That didn't really seem to cause Taiki any sort of panic. Just a rather sad glance down at his own shadow for a few moments.]

So, yet another world... No wonder Sanshi and Gouran aren't here, too. Well... They found me once, so I'm sure it'll happen again if I wait patiently.

[Taiki glanced up at Kairi again with a rather shy and optimistic expression.]

Kairi-sempai, have you been here long? You don't seem like you're afraid so I'm guessing there aren't too many bad things here.

Just Kairi will do. [She would never consider herself a senpai just yet.]7

And to answer your question, I've been here a few months, but I've been away from home much longer than that. Close to a year at least.

[Which was kind of saddening when she thought about it. Sure the though of going on a adventure had always been fun, she doubted it was meant to be for such a long period of time. Then again her friends had been gone a year before, so it wasn't like it was new.]

[He nodded with a slight bit of reluctance to the simplified version of her name. It was so odd to drop all honorifics after the last year.]

I've only been in the Kingdoms for the last year myself. It's been a very odd year... But I suppose I learned a lot about myself and why I didn't belong before. Do you know what's expected of newcomers in this world? I haven't gotten a chance to look at anything yet.

What's expected? Well just to settle in, find a place I suppose. Maybe finding work might be a good idea as well.

[She wasn't sure what else one would do, but she knew those were the basics at least.]

[That at least was something Taiki could comprehend. Both worlds tended that way in many aspects.]

That, at least, I could probably do even if I have a lot to learn still. Though... Are part-times allowed under fourteen?

I've found one can. [She herself managed to find a job easily enough and she was only sixteen right about now.]

I don't think they care much about age here I've found. So long as you can do it.
