Ever since Yuna had been elected as City Guardian of Everglade, Rikku has obviously taken up the job of Deputy Guardian to help her cousin/best friend out. Unfortunately that also meant that Rikku had to keep her record clean from there on forward. She was more than happy to help out Yuna, just as she'd planned even when Yuna was just talking about if she had ran for City Guardian to her. She'd have her back, no matter what, but keeping from pick pocketing people and stealing was not that easy. It was in Rikku's nature to do so, after all....

What was a girl to do?

It was so hard to keep from doing so in Everglade, but Yuna never explicitly told her that she couldn't do it in any other city besides Everglade. And since that wasn't actually specified... She found herself in various places, pick pocketing various unknowing victims. To them, she just seemed like a bright, cheerful girl who was happy to help out or someone they "accidentally" bumped into.... Little did they know that she was filling her own pockets along the way.

"Oh, excuse me. I apologize for that," she said, maybe taking a wallet discreetly along the way. As if nothing happened, she continued onward.

Were you one of those victims? Or maybe you just happened to catch onto her?

Rikku stood out in a crowd. Well, maybe it was because Gippal had known her long enough to be so familiar with her appearance, though you really didn’t see many girls that looked like her. From a distance, it was easy to spot her little pickpocking trick, especially when you knew to look for it. In close quarters, the young Al Bhed could no doubt swipe even Gippal’s wallet without him noticing.

He watched her for a bit before approaching her from behind, not close enough that he might invade her personal space and become easily noticeably. He wanted to see how genuinely surprised she was to see him, because he himself was pretty surprised to see her. He wasn’t aware that anyone from his world was here.

“Oui fuh'd pa rybbo ihdem oui kad lyikrd.” He spoke from behind her.

Not everyone was so perspective to see her pickpocketing trick. Obviously Yuna knew she did it, but half the time even she didn't realize when Rikku did it. With the busy hustle and bustle, Rikku hadn't thought to look for anyone she might have known and certainly not Gippal, so it wasn't hard for him to blend in. Once she heard his voice, she jumped and turned around.

"And what's that supposed to--," and then she stopped upon realizing who she was talking to.

Al Bhed... That was.... Al Bhed. Even Yuna had a hard time trying to decipher Rikku when all she could speak was Al Bhed. And the fact that she had easily translated what was said to her and responded without a though had to be something to notice. There was no one here who could speak Al Bhed and not fluently like she had just heard. Staring at him in awe, she went silent.

She opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out. When she finally got out something, all she could really say is..., "G-Gippal...? What are you doing here?"

She was surprised, clearly. Sure Yuna and Baralai were here too, but she didn't really think she'd get to see Gippal again... At least... not for a while anyways. Once she got over her initial shock, she couldn't help but wrap her arms around him and hug him. It had been so long since she'd last seen him and while even traveling they hadn't really made a point to visit often, being here was different. Even more strange than that was the thought that she actually did miss him.

"I haven't seen you in ages..," she barely made out.

A small smirk curled onto Gippal’s lips when hers ended. He had noticed himself that there wasn’t anyone fluent in Al Bhed here. Really, Gippal and Rikku might have been the only Al Bheds here at all. He didn’t notice anyone with their familiar spiral patterns in their eyes.

“The one and only.” Though if there were two of him, the world would be a much better place for it. Gippal placed a hand on top of her head and affectionately ruffled her hair in response to the hug. He couldn't say that he missed her, because he hasn't been here nearly as long as her.

“It hasn’t been that long, has it? I just saw you less than a week ago.” That might have been a tip on how long he had been here since he actually saw her somewhat recently.

No. One Gippal is enough for anywhere. Just like one Rikku would be more than enough.

"Ack! Not the hair!" she said after the hug, attempting to adjust it again. And then he talked about seeing her less than a week ago. For her to be surprised by this seemed backwards, so it only lasted a moment before really realizing.

"Oh, right.... There's time differences from home and here. I've been here since.... I'd like to say about... May?" she replied, putting her finger to her bottom lip as if thinking.

Fai had been making his rounds, buying things for the cafe, making sure everyone's wages were fair and even for the amount of work they did for the past month. But right now he was currently taking some money from the cafe to another place where the money would be safe. Thankfully that was safely in his hand and something that couldn't be taken without him noticing, but the bumping and the apologizing from the young woman caught his attention.

"Ah, no worries. It was an accident." He said as he started to walk on ahead, but it didn't take him long to notice that money was missing. So for now he knew his other job would have to be put on hold and instead he started to walk where he last saw the woman.

He just hoped she wasn't too far away.

Luckily, Rikku hadn't pocketed from many other people since mayybbeee taking that money. The girl did sort of stand out from the crowd. Just like how she knew how to pickpocket, she also knew how to blend in to the best of her ability if need be.

She hadn't gotten too far, but this crowd made it easier to blend in.

Fai quietly walked, he knew who had bumped into him so he knew the basics of what to look for, but with the amount of people that were around it wasn't all that easy. But Fai was going to find her so he could simply talk. After all he assumes there is a reason there must be a reason for it after all.

Weaving through the group of people he thought he saw a glimpse. "Excuse me, miss."

It will always be the hair, Rikku. If only because he manages to get such a good reaction from her every time he messed with it. But a time difference. That's a pretty giant time difference if she'd been here for such a long time where it hadn't even been nearly that long since he had seen her.

"So it's just been you here by yourself all of this time?"

And unfortunately she knows that he'll always go for her hair. And she'll always complain about it. Seems like normal business, ya?

"Oh, No. Thankfully I'm not alone. Yunie has been here just a little longer than I have. A month or two ago, Baralai came too, but I really haven't seen much of him since he got here," she said.

Yuna and Baralai too? It just felt even weirder, because he had just been next to Baralai before coming here, yet he had been here for a while as well.

"Huh. This place just keeps feeling weirder and weirder. I guess it's good to know that I know some other people here, though. It might have gotten lonely if it were just me."

And to that, she couldn't help but laugh a little bit before giving him a smile.

"You? Lonely? Nah. Well, you don't need to worry about that because I'm here. I'll be sure to steal your loneliness," she gave him a peace sign.

Gippal flashes her a little grin at that. "See. I don't know if you can. I spotted you pickpocketing things very easily. If your thieving skills have deteriorated that much..then I'm you couldn't steal something from me even on your best day."

"That's only because you know me well enough. That doesn't mean my thieving skills have deteriorated," holding up his wallet in her hand, "But that sounds like a challenge to me."

He blinked a single eye at the wallet and then looks back to her. He gives a that might be a little amused. Okay, so he was wrong about her skills getting bad.

"When exactly did you lift my wallet? Was it when you hugged me?"

Glad to know that he gets that. She has to fill her pockets somehow. Rikku grinned to him as he asked.

Looking to the side with that cheeky grin, "Maybe~"

"Maybe it's because I am used to feeling your hands on my body that I didn't notice." He comment just to throw her off guard while he took the time to snatch his wallet right back from her hand. He needed that money to survive here.

At least he was able to get her with that. Her cheeks turned a nice shade of red while giving him a look as if to hide her embarrassment. Which uh.... wasn't successful. Not like she was going to keep the wallet to begin with, so it wasn't hard to snatch it back; even if she hadn't been caught off guard by that.

"D-Don't get the wrong idea!" Yep. Still blushing.

Gippal takes it as a victory that he can still make her blush like that. He tucks his wallet into his back pocket. "I'm not getting the wrong idea. I just know exactly what your agenda is, Rikku. No need to be shy about it."

And suddenly she wonders if she really missed him or not. Spoiler alart: Yes she did. Giving him a pouty face, that blush was still present.

"And just what kind of agenda do you think I have," she dared ask.

"I think..maybe I am in the mood for something to eat. You know any good food places around here?" Yep, he completely didn't answer her question at all, and he's totally aware of it.

Of course he was avoiding the question. Did she really expect an answer? Not really. At least now that blush has faded enough.

"There's a pretty nice cafe around here if you want to go there," she offered.

With her pockets lined now, she could probably pay. But.... Why pay when he had bills now. It's only appropriate that the guy pays, right?

She really shouldn't expect him to give her a straight answer when it was more fun to leave her to wonder.

"Good. You can lead the way." He said as he motioned for her to take the lead. "Your treat, by the way, Ms. Pickpocket."

"No fair. I worked hard for my bills, okay?" Because clearly pickpocketing people is hard, honest work.

Regardless of that fact, she lead the way, dismissing the last bit of his sentence. "You know, you should really be proud of me. Yunie is City Guardian of Everglade and I'm her Deputy Guardian," she said with a grin.

He followed along with her as she lead the way, he tucked his hands into his pockets as he did. "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure the guys missing their wallets don't think it is fair for you to take them."

But he wasn't going to make her return them. "I assume a City Guardian is just literally someone that looks after a certain city?" In this case, Everglade.

"Yeah well... We're not in Everglade right now and Yunie never specifically told me not to anywhere else. Besides, maybe they should have been watching their wallets more closely," she shrugged, walking on. "Pretty much, yeah. It's important spot. The place we live is pretty nice now since she's City Guardian, but there's a lot to do."
