[Chie's thumb hits the button of her video, showing the flash of her ankles as she trudges through the shallow water.]

I have to start completely over? You've got to be kidding me...

[She reaches one of the exits, then stops, drawing in her breath sharply.]

Wh...why...are the buildings made of cheese? It kind of stinks...

[She rubs the back of her head, then glances down. Blinks. Doesn't that red light mean...? She blinks again as her eyes widen, and her cheeks turn pink.]

Oh, uh, sorry! I didn't realize this was on. So...

[Well. This is awkward.]

I'm Chie. I don't know if anyone is still out there who remembers me...probably not...but I've been here before so I don't need to be shown around or anything. Let's...try to get along, okay?

[She flashes a cheesy grin, aaaaand disconnects the feed. Then she huffs a sigh. Great, she made a dorky first impression.]

[After encounters with Charlotte, Spirit was starting to think he'd be spending a lot of time telling people not to touch the cheese. That won't stop him from doing so, though.]

Welcome back? I guess. Didn't know people left and came back.

Yeah, I was one of the first I think.

[She blinks down at the communicator. Has she met this kid before? Nnnnnnope, that'd be a nope.]

There was one other guy, but he never showed his face. Then two more people showed up about...a year later, I think? And a month after that, there were a lot. I guess this place is on a roll.

[Chie looks at the camera...there's a chunk of cheese she broke off of a tree trunk. Oh. Whoops. Glancing around, she kind of mashes it back on, sans one Chie-sized bite. She was hungry, give her a break!]

I'm not sure they do. I didn't go home or anything.

[She just got a little bit murdered.]

How long has this place been full of cheese?

[Spirit catches a glimpse of the cheese but says nothing.]

That's probably important to know.

[After a pause, he shrugs at her.] The cheese? Not too long. Just showed up one day. And like I said...if it's cause by who I think it's caused by, well...

Just don't eat it. If you see anyone else thinking that eating random cheese they find is a good idea you may as well tell them not to eat it too.

[The curious face continues, staring with wide eyes. He's still stuck on the fact that she'd been here already.]

People can come and go, but come back again and remembering being here?!

Uh...well, okay.

[He doesn't SEEM like he's just messing with her, so Chie will take his advice. Cheese is nice and all, but that's just too much for her. Her stomach growls, and she grimaces. So much for her hopes of a free lunch.]

Hey, how long have you been here? I wouldn't mind an update.

Well...I don't know about that. I didn't really leave.

[She shifts uncomfortably, not really okay with telling the kid that she was straight up murdered by some creepy elf wizard.]

I was just...how do I put it..."asleep" for a long time.

The kid who conjured up all this cheese kind of loses it if you threaten to take it away. It took a ton of bargaining to get her to agree not to fight people for the cheese so...well, it'd be kind of a bummer if all that effort went to waste.

[He shrugs and glances away from the screen.] Mm? I've been here...just shy of four months. I don't know much more than the average guy on the street to be honest. Every time you think you've figured something out there's something else.

Most recently I've discovered people may come from the same timeline, but from hugely different places in it. People would talk about the Dream Docks and how you could go and learn more about what was happening in your world, to 'catch up' to some of your peers...but it's become clear now that people can come from a long time ago. It's strange, to say the absolute least.
