UH action???
So, waking up in a pod with fancy new jewelry is certainly new(ish) even for Kurama. Strange things like this are part of his daily life though, and even as he makes his way out of the Bay and into the city proper, he looks as if he's completely unphased by the entire situation.
The redhead moves through the streets like he's lived there his entire life; following along with the map he snagged from the stand while listening to Weiss' introduction earlier. Once he's got the basic gist of it, he pulls out the necklace he received and turns it on, just so he can examine the other videos previously played on the network. It's all rather meticulous and boring so let's move onto the fun part--
The part where Kurama ends up at a cafe and orders coffee. That's it. There's no questions to be asked on the videofeed for now, no reason to stir up the residents unless completely necessary. For now all he does is watch anyone that comes and goes as he sits outside at one of the small tables, coffee in one hand, and his necklace in the other.
Everything is - more or less - seemingly normal and uneventful until about twenty minutes in. Still at the table, Kurama's so caught up in his research and flipping through the brochures he took previously, that he doesn't notice the waitress with way too much stuff in her arms coming toward him.
Her hip hits the edge of the table as she tries to move past through, muttering apologies and pardons the entire time. And Kurama jerks to attention just as she makes a sharp turn and a piping hot cup of coffee tumbles off the tray in her hand... and right onto Kurama's leg.
"Miss, I--" too late. Kurama's got a lap full of lava-hot coffee and any warnings he had for the girl are gone as he lets out a low hiss of pain. He's felt far worse, but damn, that was unexpected.
[ ooc: how do logs work we just dont know?? also feel free to use brackets if you're into that, I can do whatever. go ahead and bug him at any given time within this post (getting into the city, stealing pamphlets, being a super creep, getting 3rd degree burns. etc etc.) ]

He'd seen the waitress fumble, and though he could only see the red hair of the patron from here, it was soon obvious thanks to the hand waving and pouring apologies from the waitress. Quietly, Hakkai stands up to get a better look, his eyes stopping dead on Kurama.
Ah. Not human. Well, not human but injured. It doesn't take long for Hakkai to head over and starthelping the waitress clean things up a bit.]
Here. [He offers one of the clean napkins.]

Not the best way to start a day huh?

It's quite alright. Accidents happen. [ the waitress seems to think he's dying though as she continues to apologize; as if she didn't even hear kurama's assurances.
eventually though, once everything's said and done, she makes her way back toward the cafe and her waiting manager. well, hopefully he didn't just get some girl fired that'd be rude.
kurama sighs, turns toward hakkai and - for a split second - his eyes widen. he can't quite tell what it is about him, but there's something not quite right. interesting. ]
Ah - Thank you.

After he's done wiping himself off and trying to usher the poor woman away, he turns toward Gintoki and his fallen parfait. Tragedy has struck this day.
"...That was yours, I take it?"

I have suffered worse. [ he says with a quiet chuckle, peering over to the woman(?) in question. his eyes flicker up and down, seeing first if he recognizes her, and then if she happens to have one of those necklaces on to determine whether or not she is a kidnapee such as himself. ] I hope I did not disturb your meal.
hope this is okay?
She's learned to keep herself more composed than usual. At least, she was casually passing by when she caught the poor individual who just got burned by coffee. She made a face. ]
Hey, lady, shouldn't you be more careful about serving people!
[ Oops, forget being polite she snapped at the lady instead before turning her head to the individual. ]
Here, use this.
[ She offered a fabric napkin from a nearby table. ]
I can heal you if you got any burns.

Not at all...when you're at war with a coffee maker for 65 hours a week, the intuition of impending burn kind of instils itself in you. I work at the cafe down the street-
[She nodded to his necklace]
As much as I'd rather be looking for a way out of here- its hard to do that when you're sleep deprived from sleeping on a bench at night. The job helps keep a roof over my head and gives me some measure of energy to continue to search. How long you been here?

Gintoki continued to stare forlornly at the destroyed parfait. "I was finally able to afford something besides plain rice..."

"I'm sure they could replace it. Why not ask the manager - I have a strong feeling they will be out here shortly, considering everything."

"I'm sure they'll replace it. Unless my streak of bad luck decides to continue."

It looks like you're going to need a change of clothes. Have you been here long enough to acquire anything yet?
SORRY EDITING IS MY JAM LOL
Thank you. [ taking the napkin, he knows it won't do much but makes a point to try anyway. ] I appreciate the offer, but I should be fine with some cold water and a change of clothes. Are you a doctor, then? [ or...? ]

kurama lets the pendant slide between his fingers, then slowly sets it into one of his pants pockets for safekeeping. ]
I see. I only just arrived myself, not even an hour ago. From the way you talk, I'm going to assume you have been here for quite some time now?

Indeed. Been here about....four..maybe five months? I fought getting a job for days because I was busy looking for a way out. But all the clues ran dry...people have been here for years and found nothing. Some disappear, but there is no telling where they go.
[She shrugged]
I decided that the best way to gather information was actually to get a job- one where I could keep my eyes and ears open for new possibilities.
IT'S OKAY XD don't worry about it! I do it myself! :x
[ She rubbed the back of her head. ]
People just need to pay attention is all. I wasn't trying to scare her. I mean, I've got stuff spilled on me too, but this is hot isn't it?
[ She replied in all seriousness. Ishtar was quick to act on her feet before thinking. It's a few of her bad traits. ]
Ah... right. Er... Well I wouldn't say doctor. I'm not that qualified. I can handle first aid and some medical stuff. I'm more of a healer, you know those types that use magic to fix wounds or something? I can do that.
