--You've got to be shitting me.

[The camera shifts to reveal the the severe, tense expression of a young man trying to keep a grip on the white-hot rage he's currently feeling. He'll let himself deal with that later, once he's certain he can't return. From the looks of it, he's not used to handling this technology, but he doesn't let that deter him as he speaks, short and to the point.]

The pamphlet hardly offers any useful information, so if someone could fill me in more about the mechanics of this place.

[He'll just leave it at that. Any patience over pleasantries has long since disappeared.]

[Luckily, Mikasa was a lot closer to the Bay after getting off work, so it wouldn't take her as long but...]

First of all, stop yelling into the communicator.

[Maybe it wasn't yelling but... it was loud enough. And then she realizing just who she was talking to.]

[Was that... Jean? First Marco and now Jean? Not that Mikasa had anything against that. It was nice to see people she actually knew. Her scolding look that she'd gotten better at since watching little kids at school disappeared into genuine surprise.]

Oh, Jean. It's you.

[She was quiet for a moment before answering again, already on her way towards the Bay.]

I'm coming now, but it might be a little while yet. I don't have my gear on me right now.

I'm sure you've already found out this place is called Genessia from the pamphlet, but there's no known way out. There's also no actual clue as to why or how we are taken here or how people leave on their own over time.

Mikasa!

[He never was so happy to be scolded. If it were anyone else, he probably wouldn't be.]

[Admittedly, he couldn't settle on one emotion when he saw her. Happy? Shocked? Upset that whatever fucked with him decided to bring one of the best here? Personal feelings aside and all. Relieved it was Mikasa, and not Jaeger? Not that he was in any shape to be here, currently.

Additionally, with his anger not dissolving and still festering, he took it for what it was and took a breath, the adrenaline somehow balancing everything else out and not quite caving way to exhaustion.]

It sounds like you've been here long enough to learn more about this place.

[Mikasa is a special case.

Well, to be fair, he was here... Mikasa was just the first to respond.]

Time works differently around here. I've been here for a few months at least. I know it was before it was starting to get chilly for sure.

I've also been told that time stops in some way back home while we're here, but I can't verify that for myself...

That's easy enough. We'd just finished congratulating ourselves for our impossible success at Stohess.

We were in Wall Sina trying to lure the female titan.

[Slightly vague because she doesn't exactly know what time he's from even with that. That was one detail she kept to herself when talking to Marco.]

[Okay. He can work with that. He'll just remain silent on the subject unless it's brought up again, which he'd be fine without.]

[He's simultaneously hopeful that is and isn't the case.]

Marco can't help but give a wide smile as he replies to the other through video ]

Jean! It's you! I'm so happy to see you here. [ honestly he is. i mean omg it's kinda awkward living with people with him closeby omgomgno ]

[And by this point she's fairly close to him.]

No. Eren came here a few hours after I did. Marco arrived a few days before you did. Although.... I should warn you that Marco.... doesn't remember... [How to put it...] his last actions...

[She just wonders how he'll react to hearing that.]

Jean! Don't freak out! I'm in town nearby! I can meet you, okay?

[ just... don't kill anyone. or at least threaten anyone... please? ]

Jaeger's here? [Well didn't that just make his perfect day even more fantastic. It figured he would be here when he was needed elsewhere. He opens his mouth, about to go on a tirade, when he catches her next words.]

[Shit.]

[He doesn't say anything for a while. He just clenches his eyes shut, looking somewhere in between screaming, laughing, or some wrong mix of the two. How was this in any way okay?]

...The fuck is wrong with this place.

[He shuts off the video and doesn't turn it on again for a minute or two. When he does, his voice is distant, careful, and flat.]

He's not going to.

How have the people here handled Jaeger?

[By then she's already reaching the Bay. She had a feeling he wouldn't take it too well but... at least he knew right now than later on. She finally saw him, walking towards him. Instead of wearing her normal gear, she was wearing a pair of boots, black winter leggings, and a light pink dress underneath her black winter coat. Coming from work meant that it wasn't a good idea to wear her gear.]

Everything is fine here. Eren hasn't really had to use his titan power here, which is good if you ask me... Although I did get him a katana for Christmas so that he had something at least.

[And then she paused for a moment before going on.]

But I think the better question right now is... How are you?

[One could say that was in general, but it was obvious she meant about learning about Marco. She knew how close he was to him, after all.]

[It's one thing to hear it from Mikasa. It was just an idea, not something he had to deal with. It's another thing entirely to see him for himself.

Jean can't speak. He can only stare, his hand curling and uncurling, an action he's not even aware of. When he finally does manage to find the words, his voice cracks, his throat dry and constricted.]

Don't worry about it, Marco. I think Mikasa's already on her way. I'll meet up with you later.

... [ there's something wrong. he could tell it by his face without him even speaking. and when he looks at him like he's seeing a ghost, it makes him worry more. just what was wrong??

his expression dropped, looking serious. he started running and that was obvious with how hair was moving and everything was moving fast behind him ]

The pamphlets aren't exactly useful. There is a reason why there is a welcome centre that has been opened to help those like yourself.

Depends on what you meant by mechanics? I mean there isn't much mechanical about where we are.

[It's hard to tell if he's saying this seriously or not with his smile.]

Mikasa always looked feminine, whether she was fighting for her life and covered in sweat and blood, or wearing dresses and boots and other things that seemed like luxuries. It just took him back, is all, to when they (he) dreamt of silly things like success and wealth and Mikasa's hair was longer and Marco wasn't dead.

Speaking of Mikasa's hair.

He stared, not long enough to make it awkward, but enough to be noticeable.]

Fine by me. [He shrugged dismissively. If he didn't have to worry about Eren being able to control or not being able to control his titan power, it was one less thing to consider, however temporary.] What does he need a katana for? [Hopefully not to cut Mikasa's gorgeous hair.]

[He felt like laughing. He would have killed for this attention and concern, but instead he just shook his head, eyes tired.]

Jean bites his tongue until he tastes blood. He won't yell at Marco, won't yell at Marco, it's not his fault after all.

His voice is very strained, like he's trying to be polite to someone he'd rather throttle, which is, ashamedly very close to the truth right now.]

Didn't you hear me? Look, it makes more sense to travel in a pair than a group. [That's bullshit and he knows it.] There's no point in wasting your time to get here when we'll just be leaving in a few minutes anyway.

[That was the one thing that Mikasa hasn't really though about. How long her hair was getting again; though if Eren made a comment about it being too long, she'd probably cut it. She sometimes forgot that she really didn't need to wear her uniform here, but she was getting better at wearing more casual clothing as to reaching for her uniform out of habit.]

He didn't come with his gear and I know it's been bugging him. I know it's not quite the same as the blades we use, but... I figured it was better than nothing. As long as it keeps him from having to use his titan powers.

[Because she's not happy about hearing about some of his "new powers" that he's discovered.... She let out a small sigh.]

I understand. It doesn't help being taken to a strange new world. Seeming as Marco is alive and doesn't know about his fate, I think it's safe to tell you that time works differently here. I've been here for about five months now.

I doubt a welcoming center in a place that kidnaps people is going to offer any information that isn't bullshit excuses, which is why I decided to ask the actual people who reside here.
