It was a quiet day at the Cat's Eye Cafe. Everything was going swimmingly, nothing out of the ordinary. That is, until someone decided to kick in the door. Laharl stood there in the doorway not moving until he picked Flonne out of the crowd.

"Flonne. We need to talk. Now. Outside."

And with that, he disappeared out of the door way, storming down the sidewalk a little way, looking... sort of perturbed, actually.

[Flonne wasn't exactly busy, but she was busy helping Fai in the kitchen. Ever since he said he'd love to do have them do more in the kitchen. Hearing Laharl, she nearly dropped the dish she had in her hand.]

I... Sorry, Fai-san. Just... a moment....

[Setting down the dish, she took her apron off to go see what Laharl wanted. To be honest, it was strange. They'd been avoiding each other for a while now so he came to her work to talk to her? What was he thinking?

Going outside, she felt nervous about what he needed to talk about it.]

W-what is it? I'm busy.

[Laharl was standing by the corner of the building at the entrance to the alley between the cafe and it's neighbor, and as soon as Flonne was within arm's reach he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into the alley. Once there he said nothing just leaned in, pressing his lips to hers in a passionate kiss that had what seemed like years of repressed feelings poured into it. He broke the kiss a moment later, keeping his voice to a whisper.]

I-I'm... sorry. For everything. I've loved you since before becoming Overlord... and that terrified me for so long. In Celestia, I was so willing to sacrifice my life so that you could have yours that... afterward I kept pushing you away, and I'm sorry. I can't go on like that anymore...

[Flonne really wasn't expecting much from Laharl. Pulling pulled into the alley surprised her, but not as much as his next words/actions did. For someone who could go on and on about love, she was completely taken off guard. Her cheeks flushed a bright red. Of all the people to... It was a good way to shut the love freak up.]

I... Laharl-san... You don't have to be afraid of loving anyone. It might make you a little weaker, but in some aspects it actually makes you stronger. I know I can do anything because I have you in my life.

[Well, something coherent finally came out of her mouth. Now that she could actually respond intelligently as to being completely shocked, she pulled him close to her as she returned the kiss. There were a lot of things that she could say, but maybe this showed more?]

I love you and... you don't have to. Thank you... for bringing me back. I'm okay as long as I can be with you.

[Laharl really had no idea how to respond to... well... anything that was happening and so just... let it. He did find himself looping his arms around her waist but didn't really... do much else.]

For so long, being the Overlord was all that mattered to me... and then you showed up and... I don't know what to do or say around you. I just know I can't be away from you any more.

[Of course that wouldn't change how he acted in public. Gotta keep up appearances and all.]

[That's just fine with her. She really doesn't expect much from him. Just him doing this was enough for her, knowing it wasn't exactly in his comfort zone. There were no arrows involved in his actions... She could have used Cupid's arrows to her advantage, but it wouldn't have been the same anyways. She took that moment to wrap her arms around him more comfortably to lay her head on his chest. She was okay with just staying like this.]

I don't want to be away from you anymore either. I missed you. It's been... lonely..

Just... be yourself. That shouldn't be hard to do, right? It'll come to you.

[Of course not. Just knowing this much was enough for her.]

[He doesn't shy away from the contact, but again just kind of stiffens slightly, unsure what to do with himself as he forces a neutral - and hopefully natural - tone of voice.]

I guess so... Just... don't blow anymore holes to the house... I don't think we can explain property damage like that so simply.

[Okay, maybe that was a bad choice of joke, but she's trying. And then she realized...]

I.. oh... Fai-san... I should.. probably get back to work... [And then there's a small pause.] I could make you something to eat if you'd like, Laharl-san.

Isn't Mid-Boss the new Guardian of one of the cities now? He can afford it if I do anything.

I think I'm just going to go scope the new place out and get back to my coffin. I've been trying to sleep on the streets and... it just doesn't have the same effect as my coffin, y'know?

... No, I don't think it would. [Squeezing his hand lightly.] Come home, okay? I missed you... We both have.
