It was a while before Raye picked up the phone. The monster fight had taken a lot out of her, but there were other things that had sapped her pretty good afterward too.

She just wasn't sure how to deal with them yet.

When she answered, her voice was thick with sleep. "Hey, hero." She was exhausted, but her affection was still audible. If only she'd known there would be an audience.
