[ Marco takes a deep breath as he's shown sitting at a desk with the video right in front of him. his eyes are closed but he's not in his uniform from home anymore. he's in a slightly oldish looking suit. it still looks nice on him, but it's obvious that it's not brand spanking new. he opens his eyes a moment later and gives a nervous smile ]

I'm going to an interview for my first job today. I'm a little nervous, so I wanted to know if anyone had any advice to give me to make a good impression.

I've only had one job before...at home. And it wasn't anything that great but it was something at least! [ listen to him being all humble about being in charge of a group to fight titans - STOP IT, MARCO ]

Oh and this is Marco if you didn't recognize me from behind. [ he gives a small wave ]

Miss Schnee, I saw that you had an opening for a position at your company. I was wondering if you would consider me for an interview. I know that you are probably busy but any chance you give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Jean, I haven't talked to you lately. I'm going to go get a job soon so that I can leave

I mean

I'm going to be getting a job to pay Mikasa back and to get my own place. I don't want to mooch off of her and Eren forever.

I know you don't want to stay at the inn forever. And I'm going to be working a lot. So I left you my key underneath a potted plant near the door to the apartment. You know you can stay whenever.

Anyway, I guess I'll see you around. Hope you're doing okay.

That's okay with me. I'm in the other room if you're nearby the apartment...

If you're still at the inn, I can meet you there. I don't want to inconvenience you.

[And it doesn't take long for him to knock on the door, trying to swallow the bitter taste in his mouth.]

[ when Marco hears the knock, he gets up quickly to get the door. even if he's a little nervous to see Jean after what happened last time, he still gives him a smile when the door is opened. he was worried they might never talk again or if not that, then it would be a really long time ]

Jean, I'm glad to see you're okay. You can come in. No one's home right now.

Hey, Marco.

[He can't quite look at him in the eye yet, so he hurriedly steps inside, still not 100% ready for what he has to say.

He waits until the door is shut. It's kind of a good thing that no one else is around. He should be pretty level-headed by now, but considering what happened last time, he has no idea how this will go.]

Okay, first off, don't say shit like it isn't that great. Give yourself some credit. You're more capable than ninety percent of the population here, so you don't have to go acting modest. Also, Eren and Mikasa? Look, I can't speak for them, but I doubt they think of it as mooching. We all lived together before, so is this all that different? If you want to leave, leave, but don't act like you're such a burden.

[He pauses, scowling deeply. He's stalling, but he's always been bad at this...

He twitches while he puts all his willpower into masking his emotions. His voice comes out almost a whisper, but he meets his eyes and then ducks his head.]

I'm sorry. [Sorry, sorry, more sorry than he could know.] About before. I wasn't mad at you, so...don't blame yourself.

I'm sure there are more capable people to do certain jobs here... And I know that. But it was a little different a home. There was only limited space and if a titan came, we needed to be together so that they could give us all orders [ he rubs the back of his neck, looking off to the side. he won't look at Jean right now. not until he apologizes and he looks startled, even surprised ]

You didn't do anything. Why are you sorry? [ he pauses ] If it wasn't me...then what was wrong? Why were you angry with me?

Are you really up for living alone though? It seems kind of alien after all we've been through.

[He's glad he already thought about those questions, and how to answer them if Marco asked. It wasn't his fault. He deserved an explanation. Just not an honest one.]

I was stressed. Just about arriving, and what was going to happen back home if all of us were gone, and I ended up taking it out on you. [It wasn't the first time he lost his temper with someone he cared about, so it should sound valid enough.] And it wasn't fair, or okay, and I understand if you won't forgive me or you don't want me around and if you don't, just let me know, okay and I'll leave, right now, and I won't bother you again.

Oh! Congratulations on getting a job interview~! I hope it goes well for you.

[She was kind of glad she never had to do anything like this.]

While I wouldn't know anything about how one deal with an interview to make a good impression, I do know how business men and woman might be. Just remember to be confident and calm even when they are giving you tough questions.

[Best advice ever really.]

[She smiles slightly.]

I hope that your interview goes well. Where are you hoping to work?

A job interview makes you nervous?

[Good to know, in case Demyx ever decides he wants an actual job. Which he probably doesn't.]

When I'm nervous, people tell me to suck it up and go do it anyway. But I think if you get too nervous, you can run away if you want to.

[She doesn't understand why someone would get nervous going to an interview because she never really had to do one.]

Well... I can't really say anything that would help, but taking deep breaths when you are nervous might help.

Yeah, I think I have that on my list of things to do during it. I wouldn't want to hyperventilate...

Well, yes. I mean, I've never met the other person. What if I do something wrong to upset them?

Thank you. And it's at the Schnee Company. I saw a listing for a human resources person. I just hope that I'll be able to do a good job.

[ Marco smiles, giving a nod ] Thank you, I really appreciate that. I think I can do that, actually.

I... [ he frowns ] I'd...like to think that I could manage. [ which means no ]

[ Marco gives a sigh, smiling lightly. he's glad that Jean doesn't hate him. he thought for sure that he had done something wrong. he reaches out to put a hand on the other's shoulder. he doesn't want to get in his space in case he's still feeling weird... ] Jean, you don't have to leave. I don't want you to go anywhere. I was so sad that you pushed me away when you arrived... I was so happy to see that you were okay. I wouldn't have to worry about you at home anymore.

[He's been a whole new level of a selfish asshole, even for him. He's missed being able to talk to Marco, look at Marco, the simple weight of his hand on his shoulder. It makes him sick to think he'd lose it someday. He swallows the lump in his throat, desperately trying to push his emotions to the side.] I was happy too. How about this? We both live here, and work, so that we can take some of the burden off of Mikasa and Jaeger for now on?

I'd really like that, Jean. [ he smiles, then removes his hand to look to the side ]

I've had some really tough nights here. I had a few nightmares... And then I would wake up and not know where you were. [ he looks embarrassed to say that ]

[He either doesn't notice the embarrassed look, or he ignores it. It's probably the latter. His voice comes out flat and controlled.] Nightmares about what?

Which position were you interested in?

[ he waves his hands in front of himself ] It wasn't anything to worry about! It was just nightmares about normal things.

Anyway, do you want to stay in the room or...?
