[When the feed clicks on, Krillin is staring thoughtfully into what appears to be a mirror in a hotel suite's bathroom. He hasn't shaved his head since arriving in Genessia, and as such he's now got short black hair sticking out of his normally shiny dome. A razor can be seen nearby along with some scissors but he's looking kinda pensive.]

Okay, I can't make up my mind, so I'm going to ask you guys. Should I shave my head, or grow my hair out some?

I'm pretty partial to shaved heads but having hair can be fun for a while if you don't usually have it.

[Krillin just kind of blinks at the manner of dress and the colors Aang wore for a moment. It was like looking into the past... back before he wore the Turtle Hermit's gi and was still wearing his Orin Temple robes.]

Y-yeah, it definitely can. Before I just kept it shaved because... well, that's what fighters did where I was from. Less wind resistance and the like... but now the difference is kinda... negligible.

I'm sorry if this is a bit too personal a question but... mind telling me where you're from?

[A few moments of consideration, then Eighteen replies casually:]

Hair is nice to grab on to.

[A beat.]

During a fight.

[Yeah, she's being teasing.]

You gotta shave it!

[Krillin had his mouth open to respond, his mind taking it EXACTLY where 18 probably thought he would, turning bright red in the process. That second remark though, had him sputtering and running his hand through his hair.]

H-heh, yeah. It's just that... Goku and Yamcha certainly don't have any issues with their hair and... well...

[He scratches his chin awkwardly, the red definitely not going away.]

When I started training with Master Roshi, it was essentially to get back at the bullies that treated me like crap back at Orin Temple, but... so much has happened since then. I met Goku, we went on crazy adventures throughout the galaxy, and then... well... I met you and... well I don't really feel like the same Krillin that showed up on that old coot's island bribing him with porn.

Thought maybe a change in look was called for. New look for a new Krillin, y'know?

[He runs his hand through his hair.]

You really think so?

[He certainly wasn't expecting that kind of enthusiasm...]

If you don't need to fight, maybe let it grow out! You can always shave it later.

I don't mind. I'm from The Southern Air Temple. Or, wait, the world - right? Earth? It's the same place Zuko's from, if you know him! Where are you from?

Heh... at this point I don't think I'll ever really stop.

[Krillin just grins a bit. Another world called Earth, with a temple that bore that similar a resemblance to his own world, but with wildly different powers that people don't have to train for? Krillin's mind is just kinda swimming for a second.]

Heh... that's unreal. The world I'm from is called Earth too, but when I bumped into Zuko, it sounds completely unlike anything I've seen before. I ask because your clothes look really similar to the robes the monks wore at the temple I was raised in.

Can you do the uh... what did he call it? Oh, can you you firebend too?

Do you want to stop?

[ aang looks all too excited about this bit of information ]

Really? They dress like me? I wonder what else we have in common! What was your temple like? Did they have tattoos?

I can! But I was born an airbender.

[Krillin just chuckles a bit, seeing a bit of Goku in this kid.]

Fighting competitively is something that's not only made me a bunch of life-long friends, but has let me see things I'd never seen otherwise, and it's put me on the front lines against several threats to our world. Don't think I would even if I wanted to. I can fight so, I figure it's kind of my responsibility to help keep everyone safe.

[He leans in toward the camera, pulling his hair back to highlight the dots on his forehead.]

They're not exactly tattoos but the acolytes do a cleansing ritual that leaves these scars. As for the my temple... there were some good people there I'm sure, but my experience there was... kind of not fun. I was abandoned there as a baby, and a handful of acolytes thought that gave them free reign to bully me. My size probably didn't help much.

But that bullying is what prompted me to find my sensei, and best friend. Not to mention that under Master Roshi's training I soundly beat all the jerks that bullied me at the World Martial Arts Tournament.

[Krillin blinks again at the new term.]

Airbender huh? That's interesting. Does that mean you can fly too?

[A very purple lady with horns is looking through the feed, face scrunched up in thought]

Hmmmm...well, what would ya do with the hair if ya grew it out? If ya don't have a plan and just grow it out, it'll end up scraggly to the whole Abyss.

[A few moments into his reasoning and the woman is giving an honest-to-god smile.]

If it's something you want to do, that's the most important part. I'll admit, I can't say I hate change as much as I once did anymore.

[That's what life is. She fought against it for a good while - against whatever attraction she had for him, against the loss of her brother, against the world moving on like always. But well, fighting against change is kinda over once you accept someone's proposal and end up forming a new life with them.]

Of course! You have the perfect shaped head for it!

[ She's gesturing to her own head with ridiculous hand movements as she does so, creating a round-ish figure with her hands. ]

It would be a crime to leave hair on a head so obviously meant to be hairless!

You've got the razor right there, it looks like you've already made up your mind.

I guess I can understand that. Sometimes you have to, unfortunately. At least if it's competitive, you're doing it because it's enjoyable to you.

[ aang leans closer, as if that'll get him an even better look at the dots. ]

The acolytes must be very different from my people. The monks would have never allowed people to bully around someone just because they were smaller and left to their care.

[ he's frowning for a second. but he guesses the bullying had a happy ending?? or something. he can't really say he understands recreational violence. ]

Glad it worked out.

[ he holds his hand flat in front of him and moves it across the screen. wooosh ]

I glide! But a lot of people mistake it for flying.

Yeah, back home, martial arts is a sport. I've kind of dedicated my life to it.

[He shrugs, shaking his head a bit.]

It was only a couple. The rest of the monks and acolytes were great. Just a handful of jerks.

[Krillin counts finding Goku and Roshi a better happy ending than actually beating the bullies. ...Though the way they got beat was rather... spectacular.]

Really? That's interesting. [He grins and taps his chin in thought.] I wonder if I could teach you how to fly. I mean, everyone in my world is born with the potential. Just... only a few people know how to tap into hat potential. Maybe it's the same for you.

[Krillin just grins, gaze shifting from 18, to the mirror, to the razor before nodding.]

...Yeah, I think I will. Thanks, honey.

U-uhm... thanks? ...I think?

[He just tilts his head, looking unsure of how to take the remark.]

[Considering one of his friends is a green slug-guy, and has seen quite the selection of aliens on Namek... he doesn't even blink at the dragon-lady.]

I was thinking maybe styling it. Haven't gotten that far just yet.

Well, I haven't. I came in here with the intent of shaving but... I dunno. It just kind of struck me.

Well if ya got a plan on what ta do with it, then try it out. Worst case, you hate it and shave it later.

Why would you shave your head!? And why would you ask a bunch of strangers about that, anyway?

Yup. I can always shave it off if I don't like it.

I've always shaved my head. In the temple I was raised in, it was just part of the routine. Supposed to make a person more agile without hair getting in your eyes or providing wind resistance.

I asked because I'm... not all that great with fashion stuff, so I wanted to hear if people thought it would look good.

Well, listen up then. A.... Person's hair is very important! [She wasn't about say girl's, nope.]
