Video. Intro

[The transmission starts out pure audio, just a single tone on a blank screen. Before the video starts distorting, static and glitchy images taking over along with garbled speech. Another few seconds and an image appears, a single reptilian eye with an iris of blue fire.]

[The tone continues to rise, the sounds and images get more and more garbled and then... POOF! The whole thing suddenly resolves into a glowing cartoonish triangle man in a top hat and bowtie waving cheerfully.]

Hi, everybody, I just flew in and boy are my arms tired! Hahahaha!

[The little triangle floats around, giving his surrounding a careful look. Said surroundings are just a street in the city but... off somehow. Entirely in monochrome for starts and bizarrely still, as if time had stopped.]

So! Genessia City, huh? Can't say I'm a big fan of the summoning methods, but it's good to be here anyway! The name's Bill Cipher and I just can't wait to get to know all of you!

[This is the stuff of horror movies. So instead of offering to help, or saying anything worthwhile, he settles on a ten-second long, ear-piercing scream.]

Whoah-whoah! Take it easy, kid!

Not that I don't appreciate the applause but don't go bursting anything on my account!

[Oh no it's still happening. Mikoshiba on the verge of screaming again. He can't even feel humiliated when his voice shakes, barely above a whisper.]

Why are you talking. Basic geometric shapes aren't supposed to talk.

[Bill just chuckles again, rotating slowly on the video screen while he talks.]

Shows what you know! I know plenty of basic geometric shapes that'll talk your ears off!

[A beat.]

And a few that'll even pick 'em up for you! Hahaha!

...and just what are you, exactly?

[Tori's not sure she trusts this triangle man, especially with the eerily still scenery behind him.]

[Colette claps her hands, apparently rather impressed by this choice of introduction.]

That was amazing, Mr. Cipher!

[Scenery that remains still and grey even as Bill drifts about, the camera following him around as if being supported by some independent force. He does stop when that question his asked, tapping his "chin" in thought.]

Exactly? Boy, that's an awfully big question, kiddo, you sure you don't wanna narrow it down a little?

[Wow, what a weirdo. Bill loves weirdos! He even does a show of doing a bow for her applause as roses start falling out of nowhere as if being tossed at him by an unseen crowd.]

Oh, stop it, you're too kind! You're gonna make me blush and, believe me, pink is not my color! Haha!

Besides, if you think that little bit of razzle dazzle was amazing wait'll you see the real show!

[That was... Different. Eas feels it isn't going to take her long to grow tired of this creature. He's a bizarre and silly looking thing with annoying mannerisms, she doesn't have time to put up with something like that.

...At the same time she can't help but feel a touch curious about him. His eye reminds her of a symbol she's seen used in Labyrinth a few times before. It can't be a coincidence, can it?]

You'll find this place doesn't much care for what you are or aren't a fan of.

[... Oh. Oh! Well, well, well, look at all the little things running around in this one's head. Even just that quick glance at the surface reveals so many interesting things! Huh... maybe this little pit stop doesn't have to be such a time waster after all.

He cuts back on the theatrics a bit, twirling a glowing cane around before kicking back in a reclining pose in midair.]

I kinda got that impression! I mean, no backwards incantations, no circle of candles, just a pod in a lake! Boy, I remember a time when you had to put some effort into your occultist summoning rituals!

[Please stop rotating the unexpected movements are freaking him out.

He whimpers again, curling up into a ball. He wishes there was a curtain around to hide behind.]

Are you going to take away my ears?

[Yukiko wasn't sure what exactly to make of it for the first five minutes or so, but once the surprise had settled in she was leaning towards being a little suspicious of the little... whatever it was.]

Um... hello there... I guess.

Well hello, hello~

[Yep, Fai isn't at all weirded out by this. He is acting like it was any other kind of normal conversation.]

I like your top hat.

[Muse admits that the intro got her a little spooked. The garbled speech, static imagery, and that rising tone gave her goosebumps! But when Bill showed up as a cartoony Dorito with Mr. Peanut's top hat, Muse's nerves have calmed down. But all the time, Muse was watching with a raised eyebrow.

Bill looks like he would belong in Amagi Brilliant Park as one of the mascots, and his quirks wouldn't be out of place. Of course, Muse doesn't know this guy is made of nightmares, and not dreams and happy fun times like they are...

Still friendly as ever though, Muse greeted the newcomer with a smile and a wave]

Ah, hello Bill-san! Welcome to Genessia!

I believe they generally consider this to be more of a "kidnapping" than a summoning.

[Okay, he'll stop but that probably won't help much seeing as after he finishes one rotation the scenery behind him starts rotating on the same axis, at the same speed.]

Eh, depends on what you're asking for 'em but to tell ya the truth you're not gonna get anything in today's market for a couple of ears, pal! If you want a good deal, you're gonna have to offer something with a little more substance! Something like a heart!

[He holds out his right hand and in a flash of light there sure is a beating heart floating above his upturned hand.] Or maybe even a tongue! [Another flash and a disembodied tongue is waggling over his left hand.]

Or a central nervous system!

[The two organs vanish and he claps his hands together suddenly floating behind a human-shaped web of nerves. Brain and spinal cord included.]

[Why in the world would she think that? There's absolutely nothing suspicious going on here, just a glowing triangle man taking a tour of an unsettling still and grey version of the city. Her perks up a little and turns back toward the screen.]

[Ah, finally! Somebody with some coping ability! In response, Bill leans back on his cane and tips that top hat.]

Hey, thanks, pal! Yeah, it's kind of a new addition to the look but I really think it suits me! I got it offa some dead President! Ahahahaha!

[If she'd said as much he'd probably say "made of nightmares" is an accurate but unbelievably simplified way of putting it. Then if she'd asked him to explain that he probably would have said something about primate brains and three-dimensional understandings.

Such is Bill.]

Boy, for a place with such a lousy summoning ritual there sure is a long line of people showing up to roll out the red carpet! A guy could used to this, haha!

Hey, you say tomato I say tomahto but it doesn't change the fact that some jerk tossed a bunch of anchovies into the salad!

[Cue another round of laughter at his own jokes, cause he is such a funny guy!]

[Oh god. This guy is worse than Westar, at least Westar doesn't laugh at his own jokes.

Are anchovies something you dislike?

[Because she might have to make a Nakewameke out of a can.]

[He's starting to get dizzy just watching it so he looks to the side. Where there's a wall. Walls are safe, they make sense, and they don't break any fundamental laws of physics.]

[He chose a very bad time to look at the camera. Shrieking in a very masculine way, he brings his arms to his face, falling back as he tries to scoot away from his phone like it's a portal to this awful dimension Bill Cipher inhabits. He wants to run away and hide. But he's paralyzed with fear, his voice barely cooperating.]

Are those real?!

Can't stand the things, they're the worst! Blech!

[He folds his hands behind his back, drifting upwards a little and casting a sidelong glance at Eas. Or the camera. Yes, must be the camera.]

Yep! Sure would be terrible if a giant anchovy monster started running around!

[Oh, boy, this guy is a riot! As demonstrated by Bill's peels of high-pitched laughter.]

Ahahahahahaha-hahahahahahaha! Are they real, he asks!

[He stops laughing, wiping his single eye as if wiping away tears.]

News flash, kid, what you know about what's "real" could fit on the back of a matchbook! Everything's real somewhere!

[His voice abruptly pitches down and warps. Like a recording being played at half speed.]

Everything.

[...That was strange. How would he know that she can do that?]

It certainly would be. Let's hope something like that doesn't happen.
