1st Route | Action for Nova City/Video

[Action]

[The newcomer had enjoyed his swim until the robots showed up. Chasing them didn't seem to do anything, so he gave up and hesitantly left the Bay in hopes of finding somewhere peaceful and without any more creepy metal people. Or meeting Thoth. Either would be fine.

So now in Nova City, there is a young man shaking out the excess moisture from his hair without caring that he's getting anyone else wet. He holds the sleeves of his jacket up, looking at people suspiciously, and quickly scampers off to the shadows. He understands he was brought here against his will. It isn't the first time, but this place is a lot more intimidating than Zeus' garden. He just wanted to find someone he knew, or better yet, return to the garden. He curls up with the jacket, feeling something in his pocket. Oh yeah, there was that weird thing that was supposed to help him talk to people. He pulls the videophone out, staring at it warily.]

Kaa?

[If only Thoth was here, he could definitely explain how to use it. He pulls out the pamphlet, which is now wet, and starts to read the instructions...until he finds it to be too much work and tears them out in frustration instead.]

Kabara! Bara!

[Stupid communication thing! He begins pressing buttons at random, digging his nails into the sides and trying to pull it apart. Maybe if he sees how it works he'll be able to make it do what he wants. Probably not.]

[Video]

[He accidentally turns on the video feed without realizing it, so now anyone watching is going to see an annoyed looking God moving the videophone around so it doesn't focus on one thing for more than a second.]

Kabara! Kaa!

[Finally, he gives up and throws the device on the ground. It wasn't doing what he wanted and he didn't see anyone familiar anyway. He huddles against the wall and doesn't move. Maybe he'll come out if most of the people go away.]

[The City Guardian had been alerted by one of her officers about the unusual activity by the Bay. Or rather, more unusual than the norm- a person acting like an animal. Satsuki was on her way over to see if any new leads had shown up about the Bay's appearance anyway so that works out fine enough.

She doesn't approach him immedietly once she's spotted him, taking time to study his behavior and the like, Video feed and all- eventually she decides he's harmless enough.

The newcomer likely hears Satsuki's approach from a mile away; they're a steady, marching tone. Eventually she comes to view adorn in a pristine, white and blue outfit; an amalgam of a school and military uniform with a cap upon her head, a sheathed sword attatched to her belt and in hand a small device that produces light for her.

For the moment she doesn't say anything, she stands straight with a flat expression- Her gaze focused, as if waiting to see if he'll lash out.]

[His head perks up at the noise, and he retreats further away, as if a few feet will make a big difference in being noticed. At first, he's a little hopeful when he sees the uniform. He's not eager to meet any people, but maybe it's one of his classmates. If that were the case, he could follow them back to the garden. But the design is wrong after he gets a better look, and he pointedly looks at the sword, then back at her face.]

[Was she challenging him? He stares back, not lashing out, but not letting his guard down either. He pulls his sleeves over his hands and holds them up to his face. He glances at his phone again, but he doesn't go after it. Not with her staring at him like that, especially if she's armed.]

[That's odd.. Satsuki isn't sure what to make of the sleeve shifting, but for now she can assume that he means no harm. But the reports weren't kidding; he is quite certainly a young man and ridiculously handsome at that. Seriously what in the world is his story? Her brows furrow a moment.]

At ease; I am a Guardian of this city and come in peace.

... Can you understand what I am saying?

[He understands this annoyance. It certainly looks like this guy is new... and probably confused since he can't make out any real words? Loki frowns at the screen.]

Kabara kaa? What are you trying to be?

[Being a Guardian might explain why she's armed, but he still eyes her warily. She could be lying. He takes a few steps back.]

Kabara! Kabara ka! Kabara? (I can understand you! Why bother carrying a sword?)

[But of course, his own ancient language comes out different. He looks chagrined and starts shifting around, looking for an escape route, and finally decides to try running past her.]

[He recognizes that voice! But hearing it from the phone makes him jump.]

Ka!!!

[Maybe he should approach the phone? He cautiously edges toward the device, on his knees and peering over at the screen. Yep, it was the one god who did all the fun pranks! He thinks he remembers his name being Loki?]

Kabara! Ka bara ka? (Loki! Where is everyone?)

[Maybe Thoth would be nearby...or he could get out of this scary city.]

[A frown forms upon Satsuki's features and when the young(?) man seems ready to make a run for it, it's in the blink of an eye that her sword is withdrawn and held out in his path to dissuade any further sudden movements.]

I will assume that you can. [she replies.] But I cannot let you free until I have determined you are not a threat to this City- So I shall ask you four questions. 'Ka' shall mean 'yes' and 'bara' mean 'no'.

Is this acceptable?

[Though it's clear by her expression 'no' is not really an acceptable answer.]

[Izanami never had much business in Nova City, but today at least, she had chosen to wander through the high-tech city to people watch. Those who had chosen to make their business here would no doubt be different than those in each of the others, she assumed. She'd chosen a vantage point where she could sit on a bench and sip at a thermos of coffee when she noticed the...unusual young man near by.

Perhaps it was his odd behaviour - or perhaps somehow she sensed an affinity to death from him as well - but either way, he caught her attention. For now, she watched him from a distance, not wishing to startle him and make him run away. Izanami looked like an androgenous human, as she often did when she wasn't in Castlevania, but perhaps he'd be able to sense who she really was all the same.]

[Stopping in his tracks, Anubis crouches closer to the ground, bristling and baring his teeth. She was worried about him being a threat?]

Kaabara! Bara bara! Bara! (No! Go away, I just want to find the others!) [He shakes his head to emphasize his point. City Guardian or not, he's not really intimidated.]

[But he doesn't have time for this and it's no longer safe where he is.]

Kaaa.

[He eyes the sword again and runs to Satsuki's opposite side where she's unarmed, reaching out to try and push her out of his way so he can make a run for it.]

[Something was off all of the sudden. Anubis immediately stopped playing with the weird piece of paper he found on the ground and sat up, glancing around. His limiter made everything a bit fuzzy, but he could at least vaguely pick up on the sudden shift in power. It wasn't like any he knew personally, and that made him paranoid. Maybe whoever it was had a connection to the other gods though? He retreated to hide against the wall of one of the buildings so he could look around without being noticed.

He couldn't pinpoint it exactly...but his eyes went to the bench and where Izanami was sitting. The crowd of people made it even harder, but he assumed the power wasn't coming from anyone who was walking away. That left only a few people. Anubis waited until there was a gap in the crowd to dart closer to the source. Not that he cared about running into people, but he'd rather remain as unseen as possible.

Now that he was closer, he could definitely sense it better. But it still wasn't enough for him to pinpoint who it was. Not wanting to stand out in the open, he rushed to crouch and hide behind the very bench Izanami was sitting at.]

[Ah? It seemed as if he'd noticed something...perhaps even in this guise he'd felt her power? She watched with the corner of her eye as he moved to hide against the building. He was definitely looking over towards her, as well.

Not wanting to look as if she was staring at him, she went back to focusing on her thermos, taking another sip of her coffee. He seemed almost animalistic in his movements, interesting. What was that man?

Izanami felt his power shift closer and she glanced up again, although by that point he'd already moved. That was enough to make her a little wary, and more than enough evidence that he could sense something unusual about her power. She didn't move for now, waiting to see what he would do.]

[He stayed huddled against the bench, pressing his back against it to make himself as small as possible. He didn't really care about the odd glances he was getting, but being out in the open put him on edge. Whoever they were, they weren't leaving. Anubis grumbled in frustration. The limiter made everything more difficult and this was getting him nowhere.

Finally, he had enough with waiting and turned around to peek over the bench at the people who were still around.]

[ Didn't.. he look familiar? Yui couldn't quite put her finger on it, since she'd only really gotten a glimpse of him during the play. But he definitely looked familiar.]

Have we met before?

Ka?

[It was impractical-shoe-girl. Her name was Yui, wasn't it? Anubis nodded slowly and inched away, seemingly conflicted. She was a human, but maybe she knew where Thoth was? Maybe she could lead him back to the garden.]

I don't really care what you do but if you break that, then it's your own fault.

[He hurriedly retreats from the phone and the new face, grumbling quietly.]

Kabara. [He doesn't care if he breaks the phone. It hasn't done what he's wanted and it's not fun either.]

Kabara right back at you.

[She doesn't really know what that means but, well. Why not.]

Bara?

[He cautiously goes back to his phone, avoiding the camera, and starts to push buttons at random. He accidentally switches it to text.]

[Annoyed, he throws it, and it goes back to video.]

Ka! Kabara! Bara! (It must be broken!)

[Her tail flicks into view. Some men...]

[She switches to text to prove it.]

Like this. You probably just pressed the wrong button.

Ka? [He cocks his head to the side. Humans don't have tails. Does that make her some sort of goddess? Even if it does, he's reluctant to keep talking. He reads what she texts but he just pushes more buttons until he gives up.]

aaaaaaaaaaaaaqqqqqwwwwwwwwwww..!!

[It's too much effort and this place is scary. Feeling discouraged, he throws his phone and retreats from it to hide.]

.. Stand down.

[Satsuki's expression doesn't shift any; his response isn't the most favorable, but she supposes she can't really be surprised either. Of course she doesn't want to actually hit him with the sword, so the moment he actually manages to touch her, she instead uses her free hand to try and grasp his forearm/sleeve.

Assuming he doesn't manage to slip free, she'd then abandon her sword to perform a simple restraint technique by hooking both his arms behind him then dragging him to the ground.]

Kabara! [Stupid too long sleeves! Anubis tries to free himself out of the jacket, but he only gets tangled in it.]

[Why was she treating him like a threat? He had just arrived here, in this intimidating city. If he's a threat, he would have done something right now. Dejected, he tries one last thing and tries to flip her over by leaning forward.]

[Hm. Either he doesn't have much combat experience or he's holding back. Either way she's starting to wish Koishi was here; she could probably understand what he was trying to say.

At least he doesn't scratch her, now that would have been annoying.]

The sooner we get through the questions, the sooner you can lea-

[Well. It seems he possesses some strength; her eyes widen as she finds herself lifted off the ground then hitting it once more with her back.

Concerned he may go for her weapon, she quickly reaches for her sword before anything else!]

[He immediately jumps back to put some distance between himself and the young woman. His eyes flicker to the weapon and he goes defensive again. Is she mad? He'd rather not find out. Without breaking eye contact, he takes a few more steps back, and then starts to flee, pushing people out of his way without care.]

[Ah, she misjudged.. Well that certainly could have gone better. Once she grasps her weapon and gets to her feet, the Guardian sighs and raises a hand to her ear with an annoyed sigh. She could run after him, but now that he's in the open she may unintentionally just make the situation worse.]

He slipped away. I do not believe the suspect is any immediate threat.. Just shadow him for a while and see if he stays out of trouble.

[Coincidentally this is exactly why she avoided being Guardian of Genessia. Who would want to deal with this every day??]
