When that... thing hits the ceiling, Jaune's expression is pretty telling of what he was thinking. Something along the lines of "you've got to be freaking kidding me." He raises his shield immediately and attempts to turtle himself beneath it,but he can't defend completely against all that weight coming down on him. He gets taken off his feet pretty easily, and is knocked onto his back on the floor pretty hard.

Being so displaced makes him nervous. The apartment doesn't have many of its walls left from the giant's attack.
