[She still can't believe she agreed to this. Okay, so Kyrie hasn't tried to bite her or anything but a vampire's still a vampire! And Quinn may not be too bright but she knows real vampires are scary and mean compared to book vampires who are romantic and mysterious. She tries to be civil and act like nothing's freaking her out, but it hasn't been easy.

Is this part of that opening my mind thing Mom and Mr. O'Neill talk about? They never told me it applied to vampires! She managed to keep her mind off it well enough for the Gala, trying to focus on putting together her outfit and Sentoria's as well, but now...]

So, um...Kyrie? Uh, how are you doing? Anything I can get for you?

[Honestly, Kyrie had believed vampires were these super scary things until a few months after she'd turned. She had no idea that most of them were actually pretty nice. Sure, there were some who were violent and frightening, but none in the coven she belonged to.

And while this place was kind of nice, she missed her friends back home. However, if coming here was her goddess's desire as she so believed, she would not complain.

As for the gala, she didn't really pick an outfit. Her priestess robes were clean, and were sort of formal enough, so she didn't need anything else.]

...hm? Kyrie is alright. She doesn't go to many large social gatherings, though.

Why not, though? They're all kinds of fun! [Even Daria the aggressive loner went to them, even if it was only to make fun of people and get free food.]

They make Kyrie nervous. [She's not too big on crowds. Small little gatherings of friends and whatnot are okay, but anything bigger tends to make her jittery.]

Well, to gain confidence you need to be more relaxed. Power yoga is really good for that!

It's relaxation, basically. You sit like this [she assumes a lotus position...very carefully] and listen to soothing new-age music while you close your eyes and breathe deeply. And there's some stretching involved so your arms and legs don't fall asleep.

[A world that lacks most modern conveniences. This has been quite a culture shock to her.]

So like when Kyrie prays to Silennia, then. It's very calming.

Well...yeah, you could say that. I don't go to church unless it's a holiday, but I hear prayer's kinda relaxing, too.

It truly is. Kyrie understands it isn't for everyone, though.

So...I thought vampires weren't religious, at least that's what Dracula's always said. Except I guess that was just a story so maybe real vampires are different.

Kyrie was blessed before she was turned. Her goddess did not forsake her. Most vampires would be harmed by Kyrie's magic.

Ohhhh. [She still doesn't really understand most of this] Well, at least they can't attack you, then.

They can, it's just risky for them.

[Thankfully, it isn't an issue she's had yet.]

I still don't get a lot about this vampire thing. Is your faith like magic or Christianity or both? Cause in the movies it's always a cross that keeps vampires away.

Kyrie may not be the best at explaining this sort of thing.

Silennia is the divine goddess of the moon. Kyrie is unfamiliar with Christianity, but if it can grant divine magic, it might be similar. Holy symbols usually do keep vampires at bay.

Moon...goddess? That sounds familiar, somehow. [Like something she might have read about in a romantic novel or seen in a movie.] And Christianity doesn't give you magic, even though I think its creator was magic.

That sounds strange.

[Most of the gods and goddesses she knows can grant the use of magic.]

Well...I guess it would to you. Like magic sounds kinda strange to me since no one where I come from can use it. Like, there's "magic" that lets you do card tricks and stuff, but that's just for show.
