Portent; Genessia City Action Event
A huge sonic boom echoed through Genessia that afternoon.
The explosive sound was the drumroll for a huge crack, scattering the clouds, birds flying rapidly into the trees to escape the sky. The barrier in the sky shuddered, a lightning-shaped rift rippling on the surface of it. Huge auroras from the barrier echo from the source of the gigan break and down to the ground along the protective surface.
The sky darkens around the crack. Strange faces pressed up against the barrier, looking in, pushing and distorting against the surface as if they were trying to break the barrier into millionss of pieces.
Hundreds of them, all pummeling nearly shapeless bodies against and around the crack in an ominous swarm. Few of the faces seemed to have eyes, the ones that did looked.. hungry. The details of the individual faces were hard to see from the ground, but anyone with exceptional vision, flight, or even a pair of binoculars might be able to pick a few of the more distinctive visages out. They look almost human.. but there's something distinctly void, lacking any sense of humanity beyond the general shape of their features.
Quiet follows, even the birds in the trees and the bugs seem to have silenced themselves to watch. The strange, haunted faces back off after a few moments. A couple linger around, one in particular stretching his jaw along the barrier to supernatural proportions, as if a snake extending its jaw to swallow prey. In the end, despite the view into what seems to be an empty, harrowing abyss within the thing's maw, he too recedes.
The fissure doesn't fade, the barrier seemingly unable to repair it immediately as it does most things. Those within the barrier will not be able to further the crack any more than the monsters beyond it, but it stays as a reminder that Genessia is only safe for now.

An aggressive, loud knocking at the sealed door behind the Bay would follow for about three minutes straight after the last face relents, but the door doesn't open. It can be heard about a block away from the door in all directions.
