Action, Accidental Video

[Action, a few minutes after even start because I'm evil like that.]

If anyone happened to be near the pods in the bay, there would certainly be an interesting sight for them to behold. There would be a tiny, blue-nosed reindeer completely freaking out over the water. But then again, on a normal person the water might come up to the knees after a lot of rain, but on this one is just under 3 feet tall and it really didn't occur to him that he COULD just change forms. So there's a bit of a struggle just getting out of the pod (after making sure it isn't salt water of course) and then a very grueling session of wading towards land with his backpack held as far from the water as possible. When he finally made it to the safety of dry land there would be a very satisfying shake from head to all four toes and a bit of residual fluffing.

Only then would he start looking around with a mix of worry and excitement. It was a new island!! He'd read the pamphlet and ogled the odd form of Beli, even poked at the pendant and pondered the odd stone and all the new medical potential of a new place. Which had taken all of fifteen seconds in the pod. It was easy to note the similar functions of this 'phone' with a DenDen Mushi and it would take a quick trip to a grocery store to get the value of the new Beli. The real worry really started to creep in when he finally noticed that it wasn't a real harbor he'd woken up in.

No pirate ship Thousand Sunny, no sign of the Straw Hats, not even a lingering smell of his nakama. Countdown to panic in 3... 2...

[The video starts with a jolt and a roll as if the phone was dropped. Which is was along with the box that landed nearby. That isn't all that's going on though, a pair of hooves is going to be dashing back and forth right in front of the camera as a little reindeer runs back and forth flailing and smelling the air.]

LUFFYYYYYYYY! ZORO! SANJI! ROBIIIIIIN! NAMIIIII! BROOK!!!! FRAAANKIIIIIE! SUNNYYYYYYYY! WHERE DID YOU GOOOOO!!!

[Hikari was busy trying to collect various abandoned or stray animals when she had spotted the freaked out reindeer. This was enough to cause her to stop and walk slowly over to the panicked guy.]

I-It's okay.... Please don't panick.

[Sakura hears screaming from her device and quickly picks it up to see what's happening. She steps away from the crowded cafe and into a corner where it's quieter.]

Excuse me? Please calm down. It will be okay.

[That WAS one way to get him to pay attention and instantly calm down: present him with a worried child. A worried child who was evidently collecting strays from what the animals around them were saying. Chopper stopped mid-stride and just stared at her for a few moments before nodding.]

You... aren't afraid of me?

[After a few minutes, Chopper comes on with a slightly bashful expression. Another kid? Was this place like Punk Hazard and full of kids?]

I'm alright now, miss. I just thought my nakama left me behind... We'd just gotten back together!

[Sakura smiles gently.]

I'm sure they are looking for you. This is another world. I don't know if you're friends are here. I only woke up a week or so ago.

But maybe I can help?

Why would I be afraid? You aren't scary, just panicked and confused.

[At least to her they were and that just made her worried, not scared.]

I'm Hikari by the way, it's nice to meet you.

Because I'm...

[Blink. Blink.

OMG YAY! Wait, children did tend to just accept him. Because children were awesome like that. But he is going to be sporting a huge and perhaps slightly goofy grin. Not in full crazy-swearing mode at least.]

Ah, nevermind! I'm Chopper.

[Aaand awkward pause with a glance towards a pair of nearby birds.]

Do you regularly go around feeding the strays and then try to kidnap them?

[Chopper does perk up quite a bit with that.]

This is really another world? Really? Not just another island?

[From the sudden blurring in the background and bouncing, Chopper is actually prancing happily in circles for a few moments. Then he'll settle down enough to look thoughtful.]

Is it common for children to come here?

Children?

[Her head tilts slightly to the side. She doesn't really consider herself a child but then Clow Country was very different compared to other places.]

Yes, this is another world. My friends and I were used to traveling to other worlds but I know most aren't.

[She's happy to see that he's happy.]

I'm not kidnapping them. I'm taking them to a place where they can have a nice bed, food and maybe even a home if someone's interested. I don't like seeing strays starve or suffer when one can do something about it.

[She saw it as a good thing, not a bad thing really. She just hoped that she could do the person who opened it first proud, wherever they are.]

[Chopper nodded with complete seriousness and then turned towards the birds again with a few gestures. Then he turned back with a sheepish grin.]

I let them know you are trying to help the furred. Though... [A quick glance upwards and back.] Birds can be greedy gossips sometimes. At least the little ones. Birds bigger than me are more intelligent.

[Ages of 'adult' do tend to fluctuate in his world, and it was hard to tell with humans. Silly humans! One should just rely on the smells of completed puberty and take all the stupid guess-work out of it!]

Perhaps 'youngsters' or 'inexperienced' would be better? [Chopper will give that a few moments of thought.] A mix of puberty and responsibility. It's hard to tell with humans...

[Sakura isn't sure why that's very important but she can't help and be a little curious.]

You look very young. [What ever he was.]

Birds bigger than you?

[She tilted her head slightly.]

Those must be some huge birds.

[Chopper nodded and spread his arms out as wide as he can with enthusiasm.]

They're not as big as a sea king, but big enough to carry off a cluster of full barrels. Hmmm...

[Dropping his arms, Chopper made a mark in the dirt and then ~~poinked~~ walked a good ten yards and looked up.]

Their wings are something like this when they're flying.

[He'll ponder that for a bit.]

I'm just small right now. I'm a reindeer that ate the hume-hume fruit but...

[Switch time!]

I can be different sizes. I'm Chopper of the Straw Hat Pirates!

[From his happy grin, he's pretty proud of that.]

[Hikari leant over slightly to have a closer look at what he did in the dirt before her smile brightened up slightly.]

That's amazing. At least they sound amazing.

[Sakura’s eyes widen and while it’s hard for her to tell size on the video, the change is noticeable.]

That’s amazing! It must be a wonderful group of pirates.

[Pirates don’t have to mean that their bad right?]

[He turns and grins with a nod.]

That whole island is my friend! They helped me learn a lot about myself.

{Nope, pirates are amazing and full of conviction! Well, most of them. Ok, lots of them had goals outside of pillage/plunder/murder, it just took some major bad apples...]

[Though you really shouldn't give such broad compliments. He's gonna freeze for a moment before doing a strange little happy dance.]

We're nakama, asshole! Get away from me scumbag! I'll punch your lights out!

[Yeah, better to go by body language for this.]

Ah! I'm sorry!

[She can tell he's smiling but she's a little confused at his words.]

[He'll go on for a few more moments, muttering fragments of rather impolite phrases before calming down again.]

I wanted to be a pirate for a really long time so I'm really proud to be a Straw Hat Pirate! Our captain's going to be king of the pirates someday!

Who's your captain?

[Sakura's head tilts to the side. She isn't sure what to make of this little reindeer.]

That's amazing. I mean it's always nice to learn more about ones self as that is normal, but it's nice that you had people to help you down that road.

[He nods with complete glee.]

The birds and the humans didn't get along at first, but it was just a huge misunderstanding. The birds collect shiny things that some humans value so they were driven out of their old home, so they didn't know that the humans at their new home just wanted the herbs growing around their nests. I didn't realize how much just being able to communicate was so important until then.

Luffy!

[Yup, he's gonna be very proud of that. After a few moments of rummaging through his backpack, he'll even produce a wanted poster.]

Communication is always an important thing for anyone. If we didn't understand one another, I'm sure none of us would get along.

[Sakura blinks, he looks like he's her age.]

It looks like he's having a lot of fun.

[She's envious of that.]

Yup! Though there are some people who just won't listen. That's why we're the Straw Hat Pirates, because even if Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are idiots we all listen to each other.

[A cheerful smile.]

Or we beat each other up.

Beating each other up doesn't sound very nice.

[She didn't exactly like the sound of it never the less.]

It's not like it sounds, nobody gets more than a few bruises, even Zoro and Sanji! We're all nakama so we all care about each other. Besides, Nami would stop anything before it went too far.

Mn! Luffy is the best! He's going to be the Pirate King someday, and we're gonna be with him.

[He'll lay out some other
wanted posters. Ironically, his own bounty is completely blacked out.]

Everyone looks like they are having so much fun!

[Maybe she can be a pirate too~]

Oh... I guess what I thought was different. But it;s nice to know you all care about one another.

[That made her smiles.]

Oh, you need to find a place to stay and work while you are here. Do you know where to go?

It's fine! Normal people fighting is usually something to be alarmed about but I suppose we aren't really normal anymore.

[Not that he ever was, blue-nosed reindeer weren't normal to begin with.]

Hmmmm... [A rather pensive look around.] I'm a reindeer so staying outside is fine. But if I don't stay somewhere it'll be harder for the others to find me... Do you have a suggestion?

[She totally should! Pirates are amazeballs!]

It's not always fun, but it's fine if you have nakama!

I know one person here who's like family but that's it.

[She pauses.]

I don't have all my memories from home but I know I have people like that too.

[Somehow she believes its true.]

It depends. I mean there are hotel and inn, but most people tend to find there own place after. Then you would need to work to be able to afford doing that. It all depends on you.

Hmmmm... Are there any jobs for pirates or doctors?

[Yup, he's totally serious on this one!]

No memories?

[He's gonna pick up on that the most which is rather telling on how life is for kids on the Grand Line.]

Did you hit your head? I could look at it if you'd like. Or it might be that seahorse thing again... He ate memories to grow stronger but Luffy beat him and made him give the memories back.

[Sakura shakes her head.]

No, I lost my feathers.

[Though out of context that doesn't make very much sense.]

Well there is a hospital if you want to go the doctor route. but nothing for pirates.

[There is no oceans after all.]
