i ★ action → closed to usagi.
[ it seemed like everything that could have gone wrong at the moment of someone's arrival did just that when usagi and mamoru stepped out of those pods and emerged from the bay. thankfully, they seemed to have arrived at roughly the same time, and managed to get themselves out of genessia city and into a region untouched by the terrors that plagued others before they were caught up in the storm themselves. had they been here longer than a mere handful of minutes, they might have contributed to the defense efforts, but as it stood, they barely understood what was going on, nevermind who or what was attacking this place.
they knew better than to rush in blind, and the need to get to safety had been so great that neither of them had bothered to stop and watch weiss's holo recording. there was still much about their predicament they just didn't know and likely wouldn't find out until after this crisis was over.
until then, they did what they could to help the others who'd managed to flee to attleton. mamoru with his skills as student of medicine and usagi with her ability to keep people smiling and hopeful, even in the face of so much chaos. ]
There's a network, apparently. [ he's holding the device that was with them in those pods. their pamphlets, unfortunately, had been dropped somewhere along the way. ] Doesn't look like it's getting any better out there.

Everything is in chaos and if she was more oriented she would be out there trying to help. But as it is they have no idea what's going on and rushing in blind is never a good idea. So they have to wait, as much as she hated doing so.
But at least they're able to help some people evacuate. That's just as important as being on the offensive, if not more so.
She glances at the screen, frowning.]
No, it doesn't seem to be at all. I wish I knew more that we could do.

[ he flips through a few more entries. the situation is grim, but they don't know enough about this enemy to go rushing in on a battle they may potential make worse. for now, it was better to leave things in (hopefully) more capable hands. ]
I'm sure it'll all be over soon. [ no. no, he wasn't. but it seemed like the thing to say.
nevermind the fact that he honestly didn't know. that hasn't happened in a while. usually, he gets a sense of win or loss at the very least, but there's nothing here. just uncertainty. ]

She's quiet for a moment before adding:]
It must be hard for you to not know for sure.
[After all, he's usually so connected to the Earth and the surroundings around him -- he just feel so cut off here. She doesn't envy him that.]

At least we know we're not still on Earth.
[ which was both comforting and not. mostly not. ]

[A new enemy, maybe? There's enough destruction going on here that it isn't out of the question. And it's hard to believe it's sheer coincidence they of all people got taken.
She wishes Luna was here. She'd know what to do.]

I'm told we missed out on the welcoming information.

[ or at least, that's what he gathered from the way some of the refugees talked. ]
We'll have to look into it once things calm down.
[ he sounds sure of that, though considerably less sure than he ought to be, as out-of-tune with this world as he was. ]

[She can't imagine living like this all the time.]
We will. For now I guess all we can do is wait and do what we can.
[She doesn't like that. Doesn't like feeling like she can't do more.]

[ they'd stepped foot in dimensions, realities -- whatever you wanted to call it -- before that were far more torrential than whatever was happening to certain areas here were. the dark void that was the death phantom and planet nemesis comes to mind. ]
Things will get better. I don't think it's going to get any worse.
[ another thing he sounds sure of. as sure as he's able to be. ]

[It's no small thing for Usagi. If she were here alone, without him by her side? She'd be having a much harder time. Not that she can't cope on her own but his presence is a comfort like a warm blanket.]
