Back at the afternoon of the 24th

[Blake shows up on the comm network leaning back against a wall with one arm wrapped around her ribs, wincing as she looks over her shoulders. She looks like a mess, scuffed up and battered looking. She glances once over her shoulder before turning her attention to the communicator.]

If anybody's free at the moment... I think I could use a ride.

[Her voice is a little strained, but anybody who knows her well enough can probably tell that means she's hurting worse than she's letting on.]

I... have some bad news about Yang.

[OOC: So the thread's still in progress but as the outcome's already decided I'm putting this post up anyway for the sake of keeping things moving along.

[Oh no. This isn't good, this isn't good at all. Ruby's already up and grabbing her things to head out the door before she answers Blake on the communicator.]

I-Well we don't have a car, but I'm coming to get you right now!

Where are you?

[Sun's eyes widen when he sees her on the video in the state that she was in.]

Blake?! What happened to you?! [Bad news on Yang could wait a moment.]

[That's good. Ruby's the one she needs to talk to. When she shows up on the screen, she lets out a breath and slowly sits down to lean against the wall behind her.]

Just behind the Tribune building.

I lost a fight. I'll explain later.

[Sorry, she's feeling even less chatty than usual.]

... It looks worse than it is.

[She says even as she cringes a bit while she slumps down to sit against a wall.]

[He doesn't believe that for a second. Especially not when she looks like she is in so much pain.]

Where are you? Is someone coming to get you?

[She's probably had worse. She's just having a little trouble remembering when right now.]

Behind the Tribune. Ruby's on her way now.

[Somebody with a vehicle would have been nice, but she can make it home. She just needs to rest a minute.]

[Well someone will have to work on getting a vehicle at some point for situations like this one.]

I'm coming out there too.

[She might argue that he doesn't have to do that, but that sounds like it would use energy she isn't willing to spend right now. ... And seeing him doesn't sound so bad right now.]

Okay. I'm not going anywhere.

[See? A joke. She's fine.]

[A joke or her just stating a fact? Cause she doesn't look like she is in the shape to go anywhere right now. At least not on her own.]

On my way. [He he exits his place through the window because he plans to use the rooftops to cut down on some time.]

[Maybe a little of both. She did make it to where she is now at least.]

[For now, she just sets her communicator down next to herself and leans her head back, closing her eyes and thinking back over the fight. Even if she believed that Yang could turn against her, there was more to it. It went beyond just not being herself, there was something wrong about her. Even the animals had felt it, her mere presence had sent them into a panic.

And she'd hesitated anyway, not wanting to fight a friend, and she was paying for it now. It could have cost her more too.

She couldn't hesitate next time, and she was sure there would be a next time before this was over.]

Right, I'll be there in a few minutes.

[And she's out the door and rushing down the stairs because she doesn't have time for elevators today.]

Just what the heck happened?

[Blake is snapped out of her thoughts when Ruby arrives first. She's holding Gambol Shroud close but she doesn't raise it, recognizing Ruby's lighter footsteps.]

[Wincing, she pushes herself a little more upright when the younger girl comes into sight. She's still not standing up just yet though.]

[Ruby knew Blake was in rough shape when they talked over the communicator, but actually seeing her adds another level to her worry-meter.

She'll kneel down and check look her friend over quickly, checking her wounds.]

Blake, Blake! Wh-what happened?

[She looks like you might expect considering who she was fighting. Bruised and scorched in a few spots when her Aura had run down, but for what it's worth, she's still all in one piece. That piece just happens to be one rather beat-up piece.]

[She winces a little when Ruby starts shouting her name in her ear, looking up at her.]

... It was Yang.

[Oh yeah, Blake has four of those. Sorry Blake.

Wait a second, hold the phone. Yang did this!? ]

...What? Why? That doesn't make any sense...

[She shakes her head, getting Blake somewhere to get fixed up is more important.]

Are you okay to walk? We need to get those burns looked at.

[Either Yang, or something with Yang's face, but it seems Ruby doesn't want the whole story just now anyway.]

I think so.

[And she'll try to push herself up, only to clench her teeth together with a hiss of breath. She suddenly has a great deal of sympathy for everyone Yang's fought before. The girl doesn't mess around when it comes to shots to the ribs, that's for sure.]

[Still, it isn't like she thinks Ruby could carry her so she'll have to deal with it.]

[Blake doesn't seem to be having much luck with that so Ruby will throw one of Blake's arms over her shoulder before wrapping one of her own around Blake.

She might not be able to carry Blake, but she can at least help her.]

Here, I've got you.

[And here comes Sun, rounding the corner to arrive at the back of the Tribune. Man, that Ruby girl is fast to have beaten him here. He thought for sure that he would beat her here.]

Blake.. [He really does hate to see her so injured.]

[Blake blinks a little when Ruby helps her up to her feet, but she doesn't argue against the help, just lets Ruby take some of her weight.]

Thanks.

[And then her ears twitch, picking up the sound of somebody else approaching and she lifts her head in time to see Sun round the corner, and catches the concern on his face.]

Sun.

... It really does look worse than it is.

[Ruby's special skill is goes fast, of course she's faster than you, Sun.]

Don't worry about it, now let's get you home. We'll go nice and slow for now.

[And then she notices Sun and his nice strong arms.]

Sun, can you give me a hand here? Pretty please?

[He doesn't know that. He assumes it comes from all the sugar..Sun gives a nod and moves over to the both of them.]

You need help walking, Blake. It has to be pretty bad. [He's gentle as he lifts her other arm up and puts it up over his other shoulder to help support her weight.]

Do you guys have a first aid kit at your place?

[what the hell happened?

no seriously- just what is this?

blake was hurt, that was obvious. but just who hurt her? that was a question that was just begging for an answer. he had been laying low for a while now, however seeing this just sent his emotions all over the place. he was concerned for blake of course, but his temper flared yet again. he wanted to find who did this, he wanted someone to pay for.... for hurting blake. she said yang- but.... wasn't she blake's friend? maybe a human turned on her, that had to be it.]

Where are you?

[no toying around here, it should be obvious from the desperation in his voice. he might have been so angry that it shook slightly, or maybe it was full blown concern that was causing him to sound so upset himself. but just like blake, he was doing his best to hide it.]

It's..

[But then she's silenced by another twinge of pain from her bruised ribs, and again when her arm settles on his... surprisingly broad shoulders. Wow. Okay.]

....

[Okay, wait, he asked her a question. She gives her head a little shake, focusing forward.]

Yes. We should anyway.

[Oh no.]

[This was not good. Somehow, she hadn't even thought of Adam seeing the message when she'd sent it out even though she should have known he would. She can hear the tremor of anger in his voice too and she knows what it means, and she's quite certain he won't want to hear any stories about how what happened wasn't Yang's fault. She couldn't let him go after her, she had to keep this under control.]

Adam....

It's fine, I'm fine. Somebody is on the way right now.

[That's the other source of her power.]

After the whole big monster attack the other day it might not be fully stocked, but whatever's in there should be enough.

[Alright they are on their way home now.

Ruby's extremely concerned that Yang was the one who did this to Blake, this wasn't something she'd ever picture her sister doing. Well... She could picture her doing it to a complete jerk, or someone who deserved it, but not Blake.

She wanted to ask Blake more about what happened, but knew it was better to wait until they got her back home and bandaged up.]
