A Detective Once? A Detective Always.
What: Alex reading the paper and taking notes on a certain article. (AKA: Alex being Alex; Mun trying to get her some friends.)
When: Right after the newspapers show up.
Who: Alex and Open
Where: Bright Sky Diner; Genessia
Warnings: None at the moment
It was taking her a while to get used to being in Genessia, although she was sure most of it was being inactive. At home, she was running around on cases, between crime scenes, and generally trying to keep up with Goren. Here... she was living at a very slow pace. When the paper arrived, she grabbed it and decided to go to the diner for a somewhat decent meal and (hopefully) a strong cup of coffee.
At this point, her food was mostly eaten, minus a few fries, and the paper was open to the article on the thefts. They'd caught her eye, and she was trying to figure out if she could do anything to help track them down. She had her gun and badge from home, they'd been on her when she woke up in the bay (which was strange, because she never had them on her when she slept... so who knows what happened back home). But, it probably wasn't good form to show up at the police station and demand a job. (And the currently job listings weren't exactly up her alley either.)
She sighed and glanced out the window. It was like being in her twenties again, but without Joe and any support group. She still had to find a job, and a place to stay (she was going to run out of patience for the hotel she was in).
She had way too many questions and not enough answers, and it was making her frustrated.

Normally Fang was at her side frequently, but today Tiara insisted he not follow her around so much and gave him leave to relax for a change. Instead she was in the company of her fairy, Cui and her Absol pokemon, Lady.
Spying the frustrated looking woman at the table, Tiara, who had wandered in to get something to eat herself, nodded a greeting. "Good morning."

Her coffee, which had been balanced between her fingers spilled to the floor. There was a loud surprised yell and then frantic noises as she tried to pull her books from the path of the spilled coffee.
"Tepig!" Levy glanced over at the little pokemon who seemed to be hiding under Alex's chair.

spoilers: he's notbut he recalls seeing this woman on the communicator and information and allies are two things he's short on right now.Though, he isn't sure how he should speak to her, so he just gives a glance in her direction.

"Good morning. Here for breakfast?"
no subject
"Are you ok?" She asked before moving to help clean up, and grab some of the books before the coffee could stain them.

And plops down across from him.
"You're that kid from the communicator, aren't you?" She says, nonchalantly before taking a drink of her coffee. "Fill me in on what they won't tell me?"
no subject
I am not a kid, madam. I am a lieutenant in the service of the Strahtan Army.
[And he's gonna slide his glasses up his nose for effect]
no subject
Lieutenant, then.
Tell me what you know.
And don't call me madam. Makes me feel old.
no subject
Why should I? You clearly have disdain for my rank and insistence on not being seen as child.
no subject
Lieutenant. When you reach my age, you'll realize everyone is a 'kid' until they hit a certain point. Your uniform isn't familiar to me. Who knows, you could've shown up on Halloween.
And if I refer to you as your title, you refer to me as mine: Detective.

"Yes. I didn't ruin your coffee did I?" They don't need more things spilled.
She slowly begins to pick up each, book. Her gaze inspecting the covers to make sure they were unmarred before stacking them.

Detective? So you are some sort of peace officer? That is admirable.

"Are you in school here?"
no subject
I wouldn't say peace officer. The NYPD has it's own reputation. I'm more of an investigator.

"Um, no. I own a book shop in Fayren. I try and find books that customers request and on my way I found I few I wanted to read." If Alex looked down at the book in her hand she'll find a honor novel with the picture of a mansion and a bat on the cover.

[Oh, look. He's being almost pleasant]

"So, where is Fayren, in a general sense? Sorry, I'm kinda new."
no subject
No, it stands for New York Police Department. That being the city, and state, that I live in.

"You should visit if you have the time."
