[Video] Searching for her knight in shining armor

[The screen flickers as the video feed shows a young girl who has been making great progress in coming out of her shell and appearing more often on the network. She was looking quite eager, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed even, as she held the cutest pink and white pokeball in existence in her free hand, a Love Ball.]

"Hello everyone, I apologize if I disturbed anyone. I met with a fortune teller the other day and traded me this darling pink and white Pokeball for one of my red and white ones. She told me I am to have a fateful encounter with a knight, and I need to find a woman named 'Pid.' Is there anyone who can help me find her?"

I do not know this person, 'Pid', but are you certain her words are to be trusted? I have heard fortune tellers have an unreliable reputation.

[A new face? Sadly, she's not focused on making introductions at the moment. She wants to believe in this destiny that was in store for her.]

"Unreliable...? But, this ball I got from her. It has a pokemon inside. I traded a empty ball for it. Is it really so certain if this fortune teller is unreliable?"

No, it is not, however, you must be careful when dealing with such people. Blindly trusting strangers is a good way to get yourself in trouble. You are fortunate to have avoided such a fate.

If this 'Pid' person possesses a device such as the one we speak on, I'm certain she will attempt to reach you - or perhaps someone who knows her will mention a means of reaching her.

[Anastasia is fortunate? Somehow, she doubts that. She doesn't dwell on that for long, though.]

"Yes, perhaps. I will keep my...'network' thing open in case 'Pid' tries to contact me.
...My name is Anastasia. May I ask yours?"

[ More fortunate than Tiara, one'd bet. ]

A wise decision. [ Oh, right introductions. ] Certainly. My name is Tiara. It is a pleasure, Anastasia; you have a lovely name.

[She is only fortunate to be alive.]

"It is very nice to meet you as well, Miss Tiara. And thank you! Your name is very pretty also."

[Anastasia doesn't know Tiara well yet, but since they both apparently have something in common, the young girl can't help but make an offer with a chance to get to know her better.]

"Um, I live at the K&H Home for Children. If you would like to visit me and play with my pokemon, you are more than welcome to."

Anastasia-chan, I don't think you should go around just trusting strangers like this. It's dangerous...

Even if it's true you didn't get tricked and it was a completely fair trade, what if this "knight" or this "Pid" is someone who can't be trusted and hurts you in some way?

[Mamoru had a deep level of concern in his green eyes, but only because of what had happened recently.]

I'm sorry. I just want you to be safe.

[Anastasia is pleased to hear from Mamoru, but she does understand his concern.]

"You have a point... In that case, do you want to be there with me if I find 'Pid?"

[It was a sincere offer. Anastasia didn't plan on giving up on finding out what her destiny was. So, if anything does turn bad, she would feel better if she had someone she could count on.]

[ *cough* yeah about that .. ]

Oh? [ Playing with pokemon was ... not really something Tiara did, but... she glanced over her shoulder at her Absol. ]

I may take you up on that offer. Perhaps Lady would enjoy socializing among others of her kind.

Is the K&H Home some kind of orphanage?

[...Anastasia is fortunate to be alive.]

"I... I suppose the Home is an orphanage. It is to give children like me a place to live since I no longer have my mother and father."

[ Heh! She's got more than one thing in common with Tiara then. ]

I see. If I may ask then, how old are you, exactly?

[Anastasia took a moment to count, that ought to put some people on edge when it comes to her age. Her counting didn't take long, though.]

"I am 12 years, 6 months and 4 days."

[And that's why. Anastasia took the "exactly" part literally.]

[ Not Tiara - she waited patiently until she got the exact age that she'd requested. ]

I see. I suspected you might be of that age. I thought perhaps thirteen - my calculation was off slightly.

[That response made Anastasia curious now.]

"Is...my age important for something, Miss Tiara?"

[ Tiara smiled slighlty, shaking her head. ]

Not at all. Consider it simple curiosity. [ Her smile faded a little. ] I am sorry you are without your family here.

[The young girl started to look depressed and even lost her usual proper mannerisms as a result. She was silent for longer than usual.]

"It... It's fine... I'm sure they would prefer me to be where it's safe..."

[She paused...]

"...But then, they don't know where I am... My Mom and Dad probably think I've been captured or killed..."

[ Tiara shook her head reassuringly. ]

I am more than certain that is not the case at all. In fact, I have been informed by someone who has lived here even longer than I, that time does not pass in the world we are from respectively.

[That was comforting. That means her friends should still be asleep on the night she was taken to Genessia. She then bombards the poor lady with questions...]

"Then...what about us? Do we age normally? Will I grow into an adult? If I am here long enough to mature, then if I go back to my world, will I still be an adult or will I revert back to a child?"

Of course I do. I was planning to go visit Levy-san in Fayren, but, that can wait if you're sure you want to do this, then I'll make sure nothing bad happens.

Like with Toto, I don't care what happens to me. As long as you're okay.

[Mamoru tried to close his eyes and smile for her. All he wanted was for Anastasia to not end up in trouble.]

"You do not have to give that up just to stay with me. After all, I do not know if I will meet 'Pid' today, or if I even hear from her."

[Though she narrowed her eyes at the mention that he doesn't care about himself.]

"...Do keep in mind, Mamoru, that while you may not care about yourself, there are those who do care about you. Please, do not be so reckless."

It's not that I don't care about myself, it's that I was taught by my friends to fight to the very end to save others.

[Mamoru sighed gently, he didn't mean to sound so reckless, he just cared too much about others for his own good sometimes.]

Maybe you're right, but when the time comes, I want to be able to help you with whatever you need. Anastasia-chan, if something's bothering you, if you ever need help, tell me. I'll do anything to help.

"I appreciate all you do for me, Mamoru. Your friends at home are very fortunate to have someone like you."

[She paused and decided to switch to a more casual chat to pass the time.]

"If I may ask, as a girl, what honorific would I use for you?"

You're welcome. Just tell me if something's wrong or you need help at all.

[Mamoru blused at the question and nervously bowed his head, he was reminded of the girl back home.]

Uwaah~ Back home, that girl I showed you in the picture would call me Mamoru-kun. But you can just call me Mamoru, it's fine...

[Anastasia blinked a couple of times.]

"So, the -kun honorific is a term of endearment?"

[She thought it over for a moment.]

"I should not use it, then. I would not want to insult your sweetheart by doing so."

Not quite... Mikoto-neechan and Chief Taiga called me that, too. But that because they were older than me, and it's polite to call me that since I'm younger than them.

It's closer to say just calling me Mamoru is closer to the term of endearment, as that's what Guy-niichan and some of the Mobile Unit would do since we knew each other so well.

[Mamoru blushed again]

Look, just call me whatever is comfortable for you! I only use honorifics because it's comfortable for me!
