I sincerely hope that we're not going to be subject to the same annoyances as last year for Halloween, but I think I'd like to dress up again this year. It's a cultural tradition in Genessia, after all, so I wouldn't want to miss out on the festivities.

Who already knows what they are planning on masquerading as this year?

I took the liberty of having a couple of fruit trees planted in the front and backyards. It should help with the fruit problems in the future since I have my doubts that Sun is going to stop stealing everyone's fruit even when I buy extra for him. >:(

I've never heard of Halloween before. Is it a holiday?

Yes. It's not celebrated in every world and even within the worlds that it is, it's not spread across all cultures. But it is celebrated here in Genessia. I did some research on it last year and published some information about it that you're more than welcome to read.

I see. It sounds kind of similar to a couple of elemental holidays in Sornieth: the Trickmurk Circus and the Riot of Rot. Coincidentally, the Riot of Rot also takes place in October.

I have not given thought to something like that - although it may be amusing to see my servant wear a costume. [ Oh he would pitch such a fit, she couldn't help but grin at the thought. Also - ]

I haven't planned a party for Halloween myself, but I have no doubt one will be announced soon. There always is.

Oh, so people are wearing costumes for Halloween? I.. don't actually know what I will want to do.

I don't think I'd have to dress up as anything to 'fit in' but I never miss a costume opportunity.

I'm complaining because you are making it seem like it's all on me! Having a fruit tree will be nice, though..I can lounge in it and eat fruit once they are all nice and ripe. [His mouth is almost watering thinking about it.]

What is the Riot of Rot typically about? [ That sounds a little gross in Weiss's opinion, and that opinion is somewhat reflected in her tone. ]

It may not all be on you, but it's at least 85% on you.

I had mine custom-tailored last year, so I'm not exactly an expert in costume stores. I can recommend a tailor if you want, though.

Last year a bunch of people turned into their costumes. I doubt it'll be a repeat this year, however.

All types. I believe the point is to dress as something you are not. A doctor going as a doctor would be a terrible costume, but a doctor going as a princess would be acceptable. There is a high emphasis on horror-based costumes, but there aren't any strict rules about what you can and cannot dress as.

I doubt you're the only one. It's best to get started thinking early so you have time to make plans.

What sort of tree did you have planted anyway? Apple tree?

I think you don't realize how much fruit I've been buying.

One Snow Sweet Apple Tree in the front yard, two of something called a Musa Basjoo banana [ She sounds uncertain of the pronunciation ] in the back surrounding the patio because apparently it can handle winters fairly well, and a peach tea a little further into the backyard. The backyard is going to be fenced in with berry bushes, too. Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and cranberries. And don't worry, I completely hired a gardener to come once a week.

[ She's not dealing with trying to keep track of how to keep these plants alive, ok? She can afford to pay someone else for that. ]

..When you said a couple, I was thinking maybe two at most. [Honestly, he'd have learned to garden himself to take care of those delicious things. He can't wait to devour those fruits. His mouth is almost watering thinking about it.]

I think those will be the freshest fruit I will have ever eaten.

Of course they will be. I hired a certified organic gardener, so there won't be any pesticides or anything. They'll be the sweetest, freshest fruit in town and they'll be all ours. And our friends, I think there might be enough fruit even you won't be able to eat it all.
