[Video]
The video feed is turned on and the first thing that can be seen is the ground. There’s some rustling noise and a mutter and then the camera moves again and it is now facing towards the sky. It only stays there for a moment before it is turned towards the person that’s holding it. “Sooo, that’s what that button does.” Damon smirks at the camera and then turns it off.

Now that I’ve mastered this stupid thing…would anyone like to explain to me what the hell is going on? Yeah, yeah, I read the pamphlet, but I’d rather hear it from the people who actually know things. I would really love to hear from somebody who knows how to get the hell out of here. I need to get back to Mystic Falls. I have things to do, people to ~~torture & kill~~ see.

So sorry, sir, but-- well. I don't think there is a way back to your home-- wherever Mystic Falls may be. Although honestly, to judge by your home-town's name, you'd fit in really rather well in Everglade, for what that's worth...

I will leave the "PEPPY PEP TALK" to my boss, who is so good at that sort of thing, that he actually convinced me that I wanted to stay, in spite of the inherent risk that-- some non-magical people, back in my home-town, are currently facing down....

Well, he couldn't really refuse now that he'd been set up, could he? Still, said setting up did take the wind out of his sails a bit. Hard to be peppy when you're already introduced as the "peppy pep talk" guy; now people expect it, thereby immunizing themselves to the effects. There's only one way to recover from such a blow: change the style. Time to be shotgun and blunt. It's okay, this was a guy. He could take it.

"Hi, hello! The pamphlet is entirely accurate, if a bit sneaky, I'm afraid. From now on, the things you do and the people you see will be here and here alone, unless you pull off a miracle."

[He still felt like he was full of sleep laden drowsiness, but he was still working on finding out how to get the weird device to work. He had already visited the newsstand and wasn't sure where to go from here.

Ah, right. Device, maybe someone could help him figure all this out. Once he figured out how to push the button, the screen popped up with static, he turned the channels and landed on a familiar face. Both eyebrows rose at his irritating older brother, smirk set firmly in place like he was ready to antagonize people from the start.]

And here I thought I was alone. [Was Elena here too? What about... Silas?]

Did you not see the really cool hologram?

[Fai had wanted to react before the text message but figured the guy eventually figured it out. Instead of using text he figured to use video instead. Because it seemed better that way and it was what he was use to when not trying to be sneaky.]

Hello, while people don't know exactly what the 'hell' is going on there is a way you can have Mystic Falls come here. Though... I believe there could be a price for it, but I can't be certain since I've never done it myself.

If there was anyone who knew how to get out of here, wouldn't they have already gone and thus won't be here?

[Levy stares at his text for a very long second before replying.]

I'd be happy to explain things to you or even to talk to you in person but you know most of what we do now. There are some pretty nice places to eat and drink that are close to the bay area. It might not be ideal but we can meet up and talk.

[She has a feeling he'll need to see someone to believe what's happening and she'll help if she can.]

No. I must have missed that part.

And what exactly is in Everlgade?

Not necessarily. Maybe they liked it here an decided to stay. Or maybe it's a resident who knows the ways of this madness.

Damon was about to put away the device when his brother's face popped up on the screen. "You thought wrong, brother." Then again that's exactly what he thought when he had woken up in the pod thingy. "Where are you?"

"Oh yeah?" he asked, looking at the screen once again. "What exactly do you know?" Not that he'd really want to bring Mystic Falls here, he'd rather leave here and go back to Mystic Falls. But, he was curious about what this guy knew.

We're already talking on here. You might as well start sharing anything you might know.

Fine by me, really; I will just continue to feel über-Special on account of the Peppy Pep Talk he gave ME; he's actually the bloke on the video feed, there: the one telling you so bloody bluntly that you'll "never go home again"!

As for what Everglade has, that the other towns do NOT, well-- Mystic stuff, really. Psychics, and necromancers, and-- supernatural things like that... I mean, of course, my Boss has actually outlawed Necromancy, but-- I bet you can imagine how well that law went over with the general population; we're still trying to ferret out all sorts of "underground" groups of necromancers.

By the way: what's your name, sir? I'm Maria Selwyn, formerly an Auror with the British Ministry of Magic, and now-- now, well... I'm a Deputy Guardian of Everglade...

[Seeing his brother, kind of incited a bit of anger and mostly relief... at least until Damon decided to irritate him in one way or another.]

Too bad, I could have used the time alone here. [somewhere to think without all the drama of Mystic Falls]

[At the question, Stefan looked around, he was heading for a motel for the time being.] Somewhere in Genessia, heading for a motel or a hotel. Trying to figure out a reason why I'm here. [But thankful to be out of his watery grave.]

[Oh, he's going to make Levy type all this out and it's going to suck so she switches to video. As nifty as these things are she doesn't really like it.]

Okay, to start this is a new world that we've been brought to and there are worlds connected to it. In order to connect a world to it I think you have to give something up. I've met one of the spirits of the city and I gave up a memory to fix a rift so I know that it takes power from the people here but only when it's freely given.

We are currently stuck here and we don't know a way home. There is some sort of shield around this place like the world, I guess. I honestly don't know a lot about it. We have money but you still need to get a job. I opened a bookstore.

That's most of what I know, at least that's out of the ordinary. You'll have to find a place to live too but there are Inn's and with the money that you woke up with it should last about a month or so.

Uh oh, he was dealing with a cool guy. And cool guys must be met with cool phrases. What was the right one now...

"Chin up, buttercup. There are things to do and people to meet here that are available nowhere else. It's a great place to add to your bucket list. There's only a little shame in being a tourist."

She explained some things, though maybe it was the same as the pamphlet. I didn't read that and I've only been here for a nearly a month so information wise, I don't know a lot except do not go to Fayren next year near Halloween.

I probably know about as much as what the others know and it seems like some have explained. We get brought here for a reason and we know that there is something lurking outside of this place, but information on the place or who brought us here themselves is something that I don't think we know as much about.

I don't think I've ever come across anyone who actually would want to stay here. I mean people do leave from time to time, but we can never figure out how. So maybe that really aren't tell us the method and just leaving.

"We can't always get what we want." Okay, Damon knew that tone of voice, which meant that Stefan was annoyed or maybe even mad. "Are you still mad that I messed up your plans to kill Julian? You really should get over it." Not that it mattered anymore since they were now stuck in bizarre-o world. "I'm heading to Everglade. Maybe we should meet in a bit, figure all of this out together. Unless you're still too mad at me."

What happened in Fayren?

[Stefan almost snorted.] Suppose we can't. [For example, like having Elena as a life mate until the day she died but instead she became a vampire and wanted Damon over him. Alas, his tragic life continues and Damon keeps getting what he wants.] Julian...? I can't get over something I never planned. [a perplexed shadow fell over his face, eyebrows furrowed. He couldn't remember someone named that, male or female.] I'm wasn't sure where I was headed but yes, let's meet in Everglade.

If you had a fear of anything it kind of came to life.

Okay, Damon is now confused by what Stefan had said. "Except you did. Did you hit your head and forget?" It just happened. There is no way Stefan could have forgotten all about it just because they woke up in some new world. He sighed and asked the dreaded question, "what is the last thing that you remember before you woke up here?" He had to know because he didn't want to keep mentioning things that Stefan might have forgotten or had no knowledge about. "Okay. I guess I will be seeing you soon."

Ah. Glad I missed that.

It was worth a shot.

Somebody should leave a note before they leave. Some of us would like to get back home.

Damon listened as the girl told him things. She was definitely the most informative out of everyone he had spoken to. "Thanks for all of that." Not like anything he heard made him happy. Finding a magic door back to Mystic Falls would have made him happy. But he, like the others, was stuck there. "I guess I will have to do that since I'm stuck here for a while." Which meant he needed to stop messing around with the device and figure out where to go next. He was curious about one thing, though. "How long have you been stuck here?"

Did you really just call me buttercup?

My bucket list was full.

But, I've gotten the information that I wanted. So, I guess I have no choice but to get used to this place.

You must have been special because I heard no pep in that talk.

Sounds like home...sort of.

Damon Salvatore. So, what, you're like a cop?

If they don't have the time they might not be able to. it's one of the things we simply cannot know. For all we know it's sudden and unexpected.

[Levy thinks for a long minute, her teeth chewing on her bottom lip as she quickly counted through the days.]

One six months, not quite a year yet.

[It's certainly getting there and she isn't closer to really finding a way back to Earth-land.]

This isn't the first time I've been in another world though. So I know we'll get back.

I'm glad you did as well and I don't know you. I wouldn't want anyone to go through that.

Aww. don't you? I mean, seriously: that "chin up, Buttercup" was him trying to be peppy, in front of someone way cooler than him! (Just please don't tell him that I said that... Our little secret, right?)

Oh aye? Well, good to know... I mean, you're welcome to stay with ME, handsome.... Only if you want to, that is!

That is to say: yes, yes, I am.... A cop, that is to say!

[No, but he had been locked in a box for more a long time and it might have screwed up his memory.] Damon, I'm sure I never plotted to harm someone named Julian. I've never even heard of that person. [he blinked once then frowned.] I don't know how long I was gone but Silas... he put me in a box and threw me in the lake. I was there for a long time, too long and somehow I ended up here. The last thing I really remember is Elena choosing you over me.

[He's still burnt out on it despite the fact that he's had a long time in the box to think it through and eventually not care, but he truly loves Elena, regardless.] Yeah, see you soon.
