A C T I O N ;

[Just what was Ib doing? She remembered going to the art museum with her parents but..... Where was she? This wasn't the Fabricated World or even Guertena's exhibit. She was in some sort of..... pod thing? She saw some necklace, some weird device, and..... her rose? What was her rose doing there? Didn't she leave the Fabricated world? She immediately dropped the other things to grab her rose. This was her lifeline, after all. There was only one petal....

A vase. She needed a vase, stat! Looking around, where would she find one? Would that... water there work? Well.... Should she dip her rose in the water...? Or was this going to be like some of the locations in the Fabricated World where that was a bad idea? Dipping her hand in the water first, she decided it was safe enough to try dipping her rose ever so slightly until... the rose was in full bloom. Letting out a relieve sigh, she got out grabbing the other things to look around until she saw.... a pamphlet! Good! This might help explain what was going on. She tried to read it, but she didn't understand it that well. There were a lot of words that she didn't get.

What was this device near the pamphlets though? She just didn't expect to see it pop out at her, causing her to flinch backwards before she decided it wouldn't hurt her. A moving picture? Was this supposed to be "The Lady in...." well White in this case?

Hello, my name is Weiss Schnee, ??? of the ??? Company from the world of ??? and present CEO and founder of the ??? here in ???.

She didn't understand a lot, but one thing was for sure.... She was stuck in some weird new place with a strange name. Gen.... ness....eeeah...? No way back.... sounded a lot like that art gallery, but she'd just have to figure something out. She needed to find Garry. Garry pulled her in with him after all. Garry would know what these words meant. She grabbed one of the maps just in case.

Where would she go though? If she was stuck here, than she'd need a place to stay but.... Well.. Where was this.... Home for Children located? Maybe they could help her out? With the things that she was provided she tried to look for this home that was listed.

[OOC: Feel free to catch her either at the Bay or on her way to Kusanagi and Haller Home for Children.]

[Ib really has no idea what this thing is.... Sorry to everyone and anyone.... because this little girl might have accidentally dialed your number while trying to figure out how to use the walkie talkie.]

[OOC: She's going to be talking to herself for a while unaware that she's broadcasting. At least until she accidentally hits the button to stop it at some point. Until then, you might get a glimpse of a small girl trying to follow a map with a pretty red rose in hand.]

[Bundled up in a hat, coat and gloves and making his way back to the tea shop from errands he should definitely done earlier today, Luke spies the girl with a red rose and looking at the pamphlet from the Schnee company--and he knows right away she has to be new.

Most people who have been here a while don't bother reading those things.

The boy that approaches can't be much more than thirteen or fourteen, nervous brown eyes watching her beneath the brim of a blue hat. He tips said hat, blinking at her.]

Excuse me, miss? Are you lost?

[That's another thing that she'd have to worry about. She was still just wearing her usual grey long sleeved shirt, red ribbon, and red skirt. Shivering as she was walking on, she glanced up to the boy who spoke to her. He seemed... normal enough. She didn't see any rose, but the pamphlet and that Lady in White said this place was called..... Gen-ness-eah? It's possible there's no need for them here, but even so... Why did she have her rose yet then?]

Uhm... Y-yeah... I don't know where I am and I can't find Garry anywhere.

[It takes Luke approximately thirty seconds to realize she's shivering. Well, maybe a minute or so--she's gotten her whole sentence out, but that's not the point, since he notices because her teeth are chattering and he notices and that's what counts.]

Oh--

[The apprentice plops the bag of groceries he's carrying at his feet and starts undoing buttons and in a few seconds he's offering his coat to her. He's small enough that it's probably not going to be too over-sized. Underneath, he's wearing his typical blue sweater and beneath that a white long-sleeved shirt. It's cold, but he'll survive well enough for now.]

Here, here--you'll catch cold.

[His accent is strongly British despite the fact that he hasn't seen his home of London in over a year, and as he hands her the coat he crosses his arms to retain some warmth.]

This is Genessia. It's--um, I know it's scary. I woke up here last year by myself too. But there are a lot of nice people here who can help you! [Luke crouches down and picks up the bag he was carrying, glancing down the street.]

Helping should probably start with getting out of the cold though, it's right freezing out here.

[A coat... But.. She couldn't possibly take his coat, but it was cold.]

But... Won't you be cold then?

[But he was nice enough to offer it. It would be rude to refuse and she was cold... Taking it, she put it on with a timid 'thank you', while listening to him speak.]

O-oh... Where would I find... the home for children? [But manners...] Oh uhm... I'm Ib.

I'm okay!

[That's a lie. He's freezing, too, but he'll be okay, at least for now. And he's got his sweater and shirt and it's enough to get them to the tea shop.]

Um--I own the tea shop down the way. It's not big or anything but it's warmer. And it's sort of on the way to the Kusanagi and Haller Home for Children. I kind of wish they'd been all set up when I got here.

[As he talks, he's gesturing with his chin down the street to guide Ib in the direction of the shop.] Maybe we ought to stop there first then go the rest of the way?

And I'm Luke, Miss Ib. It's nice to meet you. Um, you know--as nice as it is to meet anyone when they wake up here, since nobody really wants to be here, you know.

Oh, you own your own tea shop? That's incredible.

[She'll at least try to hurry so that he doesn't have to be like that for too long.]

S-sure... Thank you.

[She'll at least give him a polite smile in return since he was helping her out.]

It's nice to meet you too, Luke. [But she has to ask...] Uhm... Do you by chance have a colored rose like this?

[A grandfatherly man in a suit appears on the device, waving gently before he speaks.]

It's a videophone. You use it to communicate with people that are far away.

You're in Genessia City. [From the sound of it, though, he doesn't exactly know what that's supposed to be, either.] Did you not get a pamphlet?

[He's curious about this "Garry" person, but he'll have to focus on one question at a time.]

[At first she didn't know who was speaking to her, so she was looking around for a bit until she glanced down at the device in her hand. She cocked her head to the side as she looked at the weird picture box. Sorry, you're going to get a weird short of part of her face and the area around her for now.]

Oh. How do you do that? [Oh right... a Pamphlet...] Uhm... I did but.... I don't really understand it that well.

Mmhm--I opened it up when Miss Kiryuin--

[He stops midsentence. He'd opened the tea shop shortly after Satsuki fired him, because he'd not known what else to do with himself and he knew tea. The memory turned his stomach and he swallowed, shaking his head.] I opened the shop a little bit over a year ago now. It's teensy, but it's doing all right. It makes a profit most days and that's good.

It's called Teanie Teas. We're almost there.

[The apprentice didn't lie as they approached the storefront, fishing through his pockets for the front door key. Inside was far warmer, as promised, but not stifling.

When she asked about the flower, he tilted his head, blinking.]

A colored rose? [Luke was still holding the bag of groceries, brows furrowed, as he leaned a bit closer to the rose she was showing him.] Um....I've seen roses before. And I've seen different colored roses before, as well. But I don't have one like that...

[She almost wanted to question the random pause, but she decided that it was none of her business, so she'll leave it be. It was so much nicer to be inside somewhere warm, but since they weren't in the cold anymore, she took his jacket off to hand it back to him with a soft 'thank you'.]

Mhm. So you don't have one?

[Did that mean he was a-- No. This wasn't the Fabricated World.... So they didn't have any need for roses her but... why... did she come with hers? Did she need it yet? She thought about trying to pluck a petal off herself just to test the theory but... no... She wasn't quite... that anxious to find out. She didn't really need to ruin her own health out of curiosity if she could avoid it.]

I see....

[He explains a few of the different buttons; he assumes that "how" referred to "how do you use it", not "how does it work", which is a completely different thing altogether. When he's done, though, he turns to the subject of the pamphlet.]

If you have questions, maybe I can help.

[It may have taken a while for her to follow, but eventually she was able to understand the general concept of how to use it at the very least. She's glad to at least have that out of the way.]

Uhm... I don't understand some of the words... The Lady in White was kind of confusing too.

[By "Lady in White", she means Weiss Schnee, which is a little ironic considering she just came from an art gallery with creations from another Weiss Guertena. No she shouldn't be comparing them to the paintings that would chase her around with their torso and the rest as a painting frame, but hey, she's 9.]

[Luke mumbled his 'you're welcome' while turning to hang the coat on the hook by the door. The bag of groceries came with him behind the counter and he put the ones that needed to be kept cold into the refrigerator before coming back to Ib, pulling out a chair for her at the counter.]

No rose. It's winter. Roses don't like the cold. I'm surprised yours is still okay, seeing as it's so cold.

[He leaves the chair pulled out for her and returns to behind the counter. Back here is an action that reveals he's just as human as Ib: using both hands to manipulate the tap and the kettle, there's clear stiffness in his left fingers (courtesy of a snack-sized bite of flesh taken from his shoulder by a ghoul last spring). She need not worry that the rose-less apprentice be a painting-monster.] Would you like some tea, Miss Ib?

[He plops the kettle on the stove, thoughtful.] I bet I've got something else warm, too, you could wear...

[She took a seat once he pulled out a chair for her, but she suddenly became very startled and distraught upon hearing about the cold and what affect it had on roses.]

O-Oh no! I... How can I protect it?!

[This was connect to her life, after all. That is... if it was still applicable here. Either way, she wasn't too keen on finding out the hard way. She'll... approach the tea and warmth in a moment.]

[He's startled by her reaction, obviously having no idea that the rose was a link to her life. Still, he reacts to her reaction just the same, fishing through the cabinet under the sink. Glasses clatter as he mutters to himself until finally: 'Aha!' He reappears from behind the counter holding a small vase, small enough that the round base fits within his palm. It was probably for a few flowers, and he carefully filled the vase with water before handing it to her.]

I...um... I don't know a lot about taking care of flowers, Miss Ib. I just know they need water, right?

[He looks kind of guilty, since he's pretty sure he just upset her himself, so...]

I don't know if you need a bigger or smaller vase either but this is the only one I have--it's from the little bit of flowers Koishi brought for afternoon tea one day.

[A vase! That's exactly what she was looking for earlier. As helpful as it was to know there was one there, she still worried that... it wouldn't be enough to protect her rose. She'll at least put it in the vase for now for safe keeping. Luke didn't seem like the kind of person who'd want to harm her rose.]

Thank you but.... I... I can't let this rose die, no matter what.

[She felt bad for making him feel bad, but she still looked to her rose in obvious distraught over the thought. Clasping her hands in front of her chest, she tried to think of ways to keep it healthy.]

There are lots of people in Genessia from lots of places. [Luke's gaze falls on the countertop, frowning.] Someone here will be good at taking care of flowers. You can ask on the network and someone will know.

[Luke hesitates, still unsure of what to do. Do roses need food? He tries to think of his mum putting the cut roses his father got her for their anniversary in the vase, but he can't remember if she put anything in the water.]

Do roses need food? I think my mum might have put sugar in the water to help make sure the flower had food, but I can't remember and I don't want to make your flower sick.

Uhmm... Well... This rose.... is my lifeline....

So when the rose gets hurt.... It affects my health too.

[Luke stares, probably for a solid thirty seconds. Sorry, Ib. It's not polite, but he's a gentleman in training, which means he hasn't got things down completely just yet.

After scrutinizing her, he scrutinizes the flower in the vase.]

...But it's a flower, and you're a person.

[Very eloquent, great observation, such useful input Luke. Thanks.]

Well I... I don't know if it matters here but... If I arrived with my rose too, than it might still...

[She doesn't even really notice, because she's too busy worrying about what will happen to it if it does really die on her here.]

[He takes a moment to try and remember what he found and heard on his own first day here. It wasn't so long ago, at least.]

To summarize, all they're saying is that it's relatively safe here even though we can't leave. You should also keep your videophone and necklace with you at all times. Have you found a place to stay?

Oh... I see... [So this really was like another Fabricated World in a sense.....] Oh uhm... No.. Not yet...
