Just read the newspaper this morning. Mages in Fayren, please try to stay calm. There was a threat against you, but panicking is just doing what they want.

[That's probably easier said than done, Loki knows, but that's not all he wants to say.]

I've made a new protective. It should help anyone run away from danger. Of course, it doesn't entirely protect anyone, but the chances of running away and calling for help rise a lot. There might still be issues with the item, but I'm working on them.

Because of the news, I've decided to hand them out to anyone who feels threatened; mages or anyone else who uses magic - even those who don't have special abilities. I can make them a lot with my powers, and they're easy to carry with you.

You can pick them up from Trick-and-Treat whenever you can or ask me to deliver them for you.

[It was originally meant as a prank item, but he could easily modify it as a defense mechanism.]

I also want to investigate this "Hands of Decay" group and stop them as soon as possible. Any tips are appreciated.

(ooc: The item in question is a small pin that can be attached anywhere - in clothes or hair for example. It's devised to explode when there's a danger near and sent a (pink) fog around that you can use to escape with. Of course, it might get triggered with smaller reasons like suddenly someone surprising you from behind, which Loki is working on - but he wanted to get the item out as soon as possible.]

We saw that as well. Natsu and I are going to be investigating - if this 'Hands of Decay' group hates mages so much, they'll might try to target anyone from the guild. We'll let you know if we find anything out. [ Or if they need help. ]

I'd like to take you up on that offer. More so for those who work in my shop. I don't know how well known it is that I'm a mage but I don't want anyone who works for me to get in trouble because of it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to attack a place that had a large amount of mages. Yet, one place would be easier to protect as well.

Exactly. To that end, I'll be opening the doors of our guild, Fairy Tail, as a safe haven for any of the mages who are worried about being targeted. [ Not that she asked permission, but you'd have to be a real d-ck to say no to that. ]

For that matter, allies of mages should be included in case these Hands of Decay members target them as well, for being 'traitors' or something equally stupid. [ Better to cover all her bases. ]

Can I ask, would you be able to create something for the guild in case they try and attack from outside? We have our own forces to repel invaders, but I want to be sure the people inside are safe while we're occupied with that. Barriers, or shields - or both, preferably.

Natsu and I investigated a little already, but we weren't able to turn up much. We tracked them to a rooftop in Fayren, where there was an almost overpowering scent of herbs - probably scent of the Magus Bane, or at least some ingredients of it. You might want to question apothecaries and herbalists.

Of course. Are you sure you don't need one for yourself as well? You never know, they might target the friends of mages as well.

I'm not spoiling the details on a network that could be viewed by the offenders. Though I'll have it said that some pranks work for unimaginable things.

That sounds like a great plan. And that thought also passed my mind, which is why I extended the item distribution to non-magical people as well.

I think I should be able to work something out. The only problem is that if they can use anything to null even strong fire, then the shields would be meaningless. .. of course rain wouldn't affect it.

Right. I know they claimed that non-mage people are safe, but I don't trust that. If they took the life of someone just for being a mage, then it's just as likely that they would turn on people who are allied to or friends of mages.
