Arrival/text

[Oh the irony of all. Out of all people, Adachi had to get kidnapped to another world. Well, it was certainly easy to say calm and collected even in a situation like this when you knew this stuff but... it was still very dumb.

Seriously, this sort of thing annoyed him so very much. The end of the year was so close and the world would have been overrun by shadows. It would have been goodbye to that place. Now he doesn't get to see it because of this? Talk about rotten luck.

Well, there's no use in complaining, of course. He'd just have to figure out something to do here.

First he might as well see if he can dig any information about the world itself.]

So the hologram is all nice and everything. Even the information we get is all useful stuff. It just doesn't really get to the most important things, now does it?

What does this place want from us? Let's face it, we wouldn't have been summoned here if they didn't have any hidden agenda. So, have any of you figured what that is?

If we knew that then I'm sure it would have been included. The fact is we are stuck here without a way home and we don't even know the reason why.

Should you wish to know more find it instead of expecting others too.

I have an unsubstantiated theory, but otherwise the reason Weiss doesn't share why we are brought here is because no one knows.

Hello, I'm Porrim :)

It's hard to get to the important things when you're still looking for the answers to that question. We do have a vague account of a reason, but it's not exactly something most people would want to hear upon arrival.

[ Just to prove she's the person from the hologram, she replied in video. She's still not 100% sure how to interpret the information she's referring to herself, but there are a few ways she's sure it could be interpreted negatively. ]

[She couldn't tell who this was from text alone, but something about it caught her interest. It felt familiar somehow.]

I think if it was that obvious, others would have seen the truth by now, don't you?

The fog here is thicker than you would expect.

[She had looked at the text for a good while, trying to think of a good enough answer, but so far there wasn't anything. Instead she figured they would find there way here soon or later and if it was sooner she best get ready. So putting the device away she went to go to the counter from the back room, trying her best to keep a smile. Should they come she was already standing there.]

Nope. I... don't think anyone truly knows anything about this place.

It's not helpful, I know but that's all I do know.

[Yukiko hadn't been sure who exactly had arrived, but she knew that she was meant to be welcoming to all new arrivals and let them stay at her inn. That was the promise she had made to herself at least to do.

However the moment she saw that god awful familiar face, her smile dropped right now. Like someone had come up and smack her in the face. Of all the people this world could have brought... why did it have to be him?]

Hello... Adachi. Surprised the world decided to bring you of all people in.

That sounds like a different question~ It isn't a bad one either.

Personally... I don't really care that I'm here. Well it's on and off sometimes I care and sometimes I don't.

Depends on what would be useful. Work and finding a place is typically the first thing people do here though. Easiest place to be able to find work is the centre.

[ She's not going to carry on a conversation with a text message via video, but she got her point out about who she is. ]

"Genessia is a city was created as a way to save sentient life, human and beyond, and foster souls that truly capture what it means to be alive. Though it is not the only city of its type, it is by far the most successful. By being here and continuing to develop, you're helping to save and repopulate the world."

Add into that the following information:
1. The barrier is made of living organic material.
2. The Bay (where newcomers arrive) is made of different living organic material. (You would have to access the GSRF database to get the details of this as the scientists there can explain the difference much better than I can.)
3. Recent tests have shown that all tested humans showed similar results to some kind of forensic test as children.

Needless to say, the ensuing panic attack some people have regarding any conclusions to be made from that information doesn't exactly scream 'welcoming,' though we're happy to provide it to anyone who requests it.

Porrim.

Well, as I said, it's just speculation, but- ultimately I think that Genessia is ultimately benevolent, that it's intent really is to create a paradise for us. But it can't create an entire world from nothing, so it takes from us to power the illusion.

The pendents we wear are conduits used to siphon... whatever it is it needs from us... to create the people and places that exist here, to power the dome.

[ She hadn't thought this through a lot, and something just occurred to her. ]

Or perhaps out of necessity. It needs us to power the domes that protect the spirits within from the spirits outside the domes.

I disagree, I think this information should be given upon arrival. I've been here for months now, and this is the first I'm hearing of it.

[ Call her a bit irritated at that. ]
whiteas: (Weeeell..)

[personal profile] whiteas 2016-01-13 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be because we just recently got most of it.

If you weren't paying attention when the GSRF's members publicly announced each of those pieces of information as we had them or you didn't bother to check out Scribes & Scripts in Fayren where there's literally an entire book for people to write down what information they know about Genessia- which was also publicly announced by their owner- I wouldn't say that's anyone's fault but your own.

[ Didn't bother to- WOW, okay.

Porrim takes a bit of time to look through archives and... calm down, honestly, because Weiss's little comment left her rather hot headed.
]

Levy made one public comment, months ago that people were free to share information in the book. The GSRF has never stated that they were adding their findings to the book.

Besides the recent work Liv did with the blood (which she actually participated in), I can't find any reference to the organic nature of the domes, or that statement about Genessia's purpose, anywhere in the network archives. If it is in there, it's hardly trivial to find, and acting like it's some personal fault of mine for not knowing all of it automatically is insulting.

[personal profile] whiteas 2016-01-14 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
The GSRF from the beginning has openly stated that anyone who comes and asks will receive access to our files. Multiple times, to multiple people, at its grand opening, and publicly.

Pascal was the one who announced her findings on the other information before she left. You can be as insulted as you want, but the information is available to everyone.

[Well, she should have expected an ambiguous response.]

Oh, really? That must have been quite a nuisance. It's pretty easy to get lost when the weather gets that bad.
