Mmm, that's good foot. [Video]
[Okay, okay, he's a little late but guess who just got his hands on the last newspaper.]
Okay, so I turn my back for five minutes and we've suddenly got monkey people robbing everyone blind and making a mess of the windows?
[And why does that not sound too terribly out of the ordinary around here?]
Anybody want to fill me in? The circus in town or something?

[Yup, rampant thievery doesn't seem to be Ice King's concern.]
Video
Harry! That's rude, don't be a jerk!
Oh, wait.]
You're not talking about that guy I helped fend off the monsters a while back? When that big giant was attacking? You know... blonde hair, monkey tail?
... Let's not.
Video
RUBY has an angry face?!]
Uh... I'm being rude to the sock-stealing monkeys?
[He doesn't know what's going on.]
Dunno, is that who we're talking about?
Re: [Video]
[The Ice King looks puzzled. Then, from the background of his end of the call, there's a real ruckus. It sounds like... "WAKWAKWAKWAKWAKWAK!"
It's a gaggle of penguins. Regarding them, the Ice King raises a hand.] False alarm. No circus.
[The penguins are crushed. Some of them just flop onto the floor in sorrow, while others storm away.]
Well maybe we're a bit too old for the circus anyway. We can still totally hang out though.
Re: [Video]
Uh...
Well...
... Huh. Well, there is a monkey guy. I don't know his name though, I never caught it before he jumped off and started fighting things. [All he knows is that it wasn't him stealing stuff. He only stole from bad guys.]
Video
Harry!
He's not a monkey, he's a Faunus! [A Faunus who happens to have monkey traits.]
I'm pretty sure he didn't steal anyone's socks either!
Video
Come again?
[He wasn't really buying the sock thing anyway. Although it would explain a lot....]
Okay, so there's a monkey guy and apparently people are mad at him for stealing their stuff.
I think we can probably figure that the rest was just the paper being the paper.
[ie jerks.]

[Video] Have a newbie still figuring out the communicator
[Video]
Video
Video
Oh. So, the monk-- er... guy in the story is an actual guy? For a second, I thought it was the city throwing another twist at us.
[He still doesn't seem to get why this is a big deal.]
Video;
Just getting that, huh? You must be new.
Re: [Video] Have a newbie still figuring out the communicator
[Probably through the window if the pattern holds.]
Let's hold off on any witch hunts until we get some details though. The paper isn't exactly the most trustworthy of news sources.

[Action for the rest of this thread]
Steel. It displeased her greatly that her Knight had chosen a steel door. It was only marginally better than pure solid iron. And it made it difficult to knock traditionally. Even wearing gloves she did not like to take chances with such unpleasantness. His wards hummed but if she really wanted to she could probably take those out (along with half the block). He wouldn't be very happy if she did. It bore trying at a later date when she didn't already have plans for him as she did today.
So she lifted up her communicator and spoke instead. "Knight, I am at your door."
The woman was dressed in more modern clothing, apparently someone had taken her shopping (sometimes it was very convenient to be a sídhe, it made shopping wonderfully less straining on the bank account).

[He can't help but chuckle at that one.]
If you figure that one out, you let the rest of us know.

Are there more reliable sources of information in this place? I've only been here for a few days and nights and it's all still confusing.
Re: Video
Of course he's an actual guy, Faunus are people too!
[Except she's probably not the best person to be telling him this. What was that about the city? She missed that.]
Video
Okay, okay, no argument here. In defense of my stupidity, this is the first I've heard of them.
[He arches an eyebrow.]
I'm getting this is sort of a personal issue here.
Video
Well, I guess I can let it slide this once if that's the case.
And it is! Well not personal for me particularly, but I have Faunus friends and I don't want to hear people making fun of them. They get enough of it back where we come from.
I wouldn't let people call you a sorcerer, so don't call my friends animals.

Sun Wukong does have a history of fruit theft, however, there are a large number of businesses in our world who simply refuse to serve Faunus for simply being Faunus. What I suspect began as a legitimate need for survival has carried with him into the present day.
Video
[Of course, he runs through the list of relatively flippant answers he could give but eventually just settles on nodding.]
Won't happen again. Sorry. And if I hear anybody else do it, I'll be sure to let 'em have it for you.
no subject
Yeah, Ruby filled me in on that a little.
I wasn't exactly taking everything that rag had to say at face value, but I get the feeling I owe somebody an apology if I ever get to meet him.
Still, if you think he'll listen you should probably see about getting him to cut it out. Especially in Genessia City. Hammer's a pretty "no questions asked" guy about that kind of stuff.
Video
Good, glad to hear it. You're free to go back to wizarding.
Video
Yes, ma'am.

[He pauses a moment, switching to a private feed.]
...However, there is one person that I feel should be brought to your attention, considering your office and the recent events.
Adam Taurus - another Faunus - has a potential for troubling reactions in this regard. He is a member of the organization "White Fang" in our world. The White Fang started as a peaceful organization that sought equality between humans and Faunus for quite some time. However, after decades of being brushed aside, their leadership changed, and so too did their tactics.
They went from peaceful protests and rallies, to civil disobedience, and finally evolving into a paramilitary organization. They have been involved with vandalizing businesses that refused to serve Faunus customers, Dust theft from companies that use Faunus labor, etc.
So far, Adam has given me no reason for worry. However, given his skill as a warrior and his affiliation with the now militaristic organization... I fear that the reactions this sort of story may illicit.

That was what he was about to do when the communicator went off again.
... Crap.
He only briefly mulled over how the hell she had found out where he lived before dismissing that as a stupid question anyway. The idea of pretending not to be home was even shorter lived for the same reasons. Great... time to go play host for a Faerie Queen.
With a heavy sigh, he made his way over to the heavy steel door, let down the wards and hauled it open.
"Well, this sure is a surprise." No invitation just yet. He would, if only because it was probably an obligation as the Winter Knight, but she could stand outside for a little while at least.

"Is it?" She asked and there might have been a bit of wryness in return. "Access to my court has been severed. You are now my court." Which meant he was really her only minion. He was lucky she hadn't insisted on him housing her and doing all her bidding. Fortunately she wasn't a queen that couldn't handle most things on her own. Or at least trick the locals into doing her bidding for her. Being fae had it's advantages.
Her gaze remained intently expectant on him. Even though internally she was pleased that he was walking that thin line between wariness and obedience.

New, but unsurprised given the whole abduction premise. These things rarely go hand-in-hand with a well adjusted setting or society.
Re: [Video]
... That sure is something. Okay then.
