WHO: David Haller and Levy McGarden
WHAT: Going out for lunch.
WHEN: 1/19/16
WHERE: Starting in Fayren.
WARNINGS: None.

[David has been pretty busy lately with Guardian duties and the like. He'd been constantly working on various improvements and things would probably continue to be that way until he finished up some things. But today his duties were cleared for the most part, so he was taking the rest of the day off. And what better way to spend that than grabbing lunch?

He just needed to grab someone to go to lunch with. So who other than his roommate? He stepped inside of Scribes & Scripts, knowing he was likely to find her fast at work.]

Excuse me, shopkeeper. I'm looking for a bookworm named Levy McGarden. Do you happen to carry them here?

[Levy is sitting at the front desk with a pen in her hand, quickly scratching against the paper in front of her. It is just simple time charts now that she has several people working at the book shop. She wants to make sure they all get time. She's entertained the thought of opening a second bookstore in Genessia though she has yet to touch on those details.

Her lips curl into a smile before she looks up from her work. David always does manage to make her smile. She places her pen down, her head canting to the side as she looks up at him.]

Yes we do though she's not for sale.

[Levy teases lightly before closing her book.]

What's up David?

Well, it's a good thing I don't want to buy one then. I was hoping I could borrow her instead. I was about to head out and grab some lunch, and I thought you might want to come.

What do you say?

[Levy's smile widens slightly.]

Yeah, what did you have in mind?

[She slides from her chair and tucks the notebook she had been writing away. She then pops up tucking lose strands of blue behind her ear. She has a jacket here somewhere...]

I haven't decided yet. What are you in the mood for? [There were enough cities and enough diversity that they could try a lot of things. He makes her jacket float up into the air and over to her.]

[Levy swipes her jacket from the air and then slips the sleeves over her arms. It falls to her calf's wrapping tightly around her center. It's a very warm jacket.]

Well, I've recently been instructed that I should try new things.

[She doesn't always branch out.]

I'm not sure if that narrow's it down at all though.

I think I could take you to a place where you can try some new food. [He holds his hand out for hers.] Come on.

Okay!

[The thought and the surprise makes Levy smile. Her thin fingers lightly reach out and rest in Davids hand.]

[He uses telekinesis to lockup shop for her, unless someone else is there to run the store. He takes her hand and the two of them teleport to the archway leading back into Genessia City and he leads her through.]

How has work been today?

[Levy isn't sure if she'll ever get used to teleporting but it's pretty cool. She smiles at his question and nods her head.]

It's been pretty steady. Nothing too exciting today but I did find a book from Earth-land I had been looking for. It's a book about magic so I'm excited to be able to read it.

[It's fun to find books in Genessia more so because Levy never knows what to expect.]

What about you?

[David was pretty sure she was excited to read every book she could get her hands on. As long as it was new or something. He leads her through the archway and then teleports with her again to the Attleton archway.]

Nothing I can complain about. Actually finished most of it up early, which is why I can come out with you now. [He leads her through the archway and then teleports with her to the Tokyo subarchway and then he leads her through that too.]

[David would be correct in his guess about Levy and books. She doesn't like every book but she's willing to give any book a chance.]

That seems rare. [Not that she's complaining because it's always nice to spend time with David.

The further along they move the more curious Levy's bright eyes become. She glances around taking David's arm we prompted for teleporting. When they reach the Tokyo sub-archway she looks around even more.]

I don't think I've been here before.

It's a city in my world. [He says as he looks at all the buildings.]

Really huge. It ranks among the major cities. I think the sub-archway to another one is here too. [He says as he starts to lead her along the sidewalk.]

[Levy looks up in awe at the structures and then around a those walking along the streets. She's never been to a place like this but somehow it feels homey.]

What are all the major cities in your world?

[She follows along her eyes moving across the streets and signs, looking very much like a tourist. She can't help but think about what books they might have here though for the moment she's more interested in lunch.]

You have Tokyo, which is where we are now. New York, Mexico, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Mumbai. It'd take a while to name them all.

You could probably find some books on stuff like that here. Or in the Library in Genessia City.

[Levy smiles.]

You know me, I'll probably go look it up. This city is amazing though. Where are we headed?

[She wonders what sort of food is here.]

There is a restaurant here that has some really good food. Have you ever tried sushi or anything?

[Sushi doesn't sound familiar though it's possible that she knows it under a different name so she shakes her head.]

I don't think so but I'm up for trying anything at least once.

[It's more exciting that way.]

I think you might like. [He said as he came up to a restaurant and lead her inside. The waitress in the restaurant quickly seated them and gave them a menu with different options on it.]

[Levy sits down pulling one of the menu's in front of her. Her eyes widen as they skim over the menu. Everything looks very fancy and a part of her wants to try it all.]

This looks amazing, do you want to just order a bunch of things and split it?

[She wants to taste as much as she possibly can.]

Some of these spicy rolls look really good. I wonder what kingfish tastes like.

We can do that. We can always take what we don't eat back home. [He thought that spicy tuna roll looked pretty good. Really..everything looked good.]

Okay!

[She likes that plan and starts to point to a few listed on the menu.]

So much of this looks amazing. Seared Salmon Sashimi, avocado roll, Croqutte's, Spicy tuna crunchy roll or....

[There are to many yummy options.]

[She does look pretty into this.]

We can come back here too sometime if you like. [Just so they didn't have to order everything on the menu.]

[Levy blushes brightly and then curbs her excitement.]

Right. What do you want to get?

I'm fine with everything that you have mentioned so far. [He said as he looks over the menus.] The Salmon avocado nigiri and the chicken avocado might taste good as well.

Those sound good too.

[Levy's lips curl into a wide grin.]

I think I'll have tea with lunch too.

[She glanced around trying to catch sight of a waiter.]

I think I'll have the same. [He flags down one of the Waiters, returns his menu, and gives him their order.] Anything else you want to add?

[Levy shakes her head.]

Nope that sounds like plenty.

[Her smile widens as the menu's were taken away.]

Why not tell me more about how works going? You're always doing so much.

Well, that's because there is always a lot to do. People would suffer if I was a bad Guardian. [And he couldn't have that. Especially when the people he cared most for would suffer.]

I think revamping the police force was one of my biggest undertakings. I'm still taking steps with that too.

[Levy smiles.]

I'm glad to hear it. I wish there were more ways I can help.

[Though her magic has certainly improved when it comes to barriers.]

I don't see the police out a lot but then I don't see a lot of crime so I imagine that they must be doing a good job.

[There are people she cares about too but she's sure most of her friends are stronger than her and able to handle things themselves; not that it stops her from wanting to help.]

You've helped a lot so far.

[And he means that.]

As long as you are seeing them, that's what counts. Genessia City has been without a proper police force for so long.

[Levy beams at David and then whispers a soft thank you when the waitress brings their tea.]

Why was that? I thought all the towns had a police.

[Her thin pale fingers carefully pour herself a glass of tea, watching as steam licks up from the surface. It's to hot to drink.]

They do, mostly. But Genessia City barely had one. There was barely a couple of cops. Everything was pretty much left up to the Guardian. But I thought it would benefit from a full force.

[Levy takes a small sip of the tea after lightly blowing across its steamy surface. Her lips curl into a small as the warm liquid trickles down her throat and warms her core.]

That's good. It just means even if you aren't in office you'll have made a difference. [Honestly she thinks that everything he does is amazing.]

Oh! I did find a few books on magic from other worlds. I thought to see if reading them might help with things at all.

[Always studious.]

[David chuckles a little bit then lifts up his own tea.] I'm surprised it took you this long to find some. I was starting to think you just had some sixth sense about books.

[He takes a sip from his cup.]

I'm not that good.

[But she flattered that he thinks so.]

I was able to find books from my home but I was looking for ones from other worlds too. Learning titles have been a little tricky.

[Belle's been helping her.]

Just try not to bury yourself in books. If you are getting books from other worlds, you could really end up doing that. [He could just imagine not seeing her for days because she's gotten into some book series and has spent so much time reading it.]

[Levy laughs and then smiles sheepishly.]

I've been known to do that so if I disappear... you might want to come find me in my room or the library.

[She has had to dig her way out of books before but having a library helps with that.]

I have to keep the bookshop organized so I don't read there as often.

[Not saying she doesn't read there; just not as often because she's usually working.]

[He laughs a little once more.]

I promise to protect you from yourself if the time comes. [And the Waiter is bringing over their food now.]

Hey, Levy. [David points to the little charm on her necklace. They all got one for helping the Everglade spirit repair the barrier.] Can I have that charm?

[Levy blinks and then looks down at her necklace. She carefully takes the charm off and holds it up.]

Sure... but why do you need it?

[She assumes that he has a reason and even with the food in front of them she wants to know the reason why if he's willing to give it.]
