[Airy doesn’t want to admit that weird has suddenly become normal. Things were uncomfortable enough already without having to face that one glaring fact. In this case, she remembers going to bed and it was nice and comfortable and yes, in a stranger’s apartment but it was at least a bed and he wasn’t creepy. Now she’s falling out of this pod thing and stumbling into water. The strange box she woke up with falls into the water and breaks open.]

Oh no…

[She dips her hand in to fetch out the phone first and then collects everything else only to lay it out on the floor away from the water. She shakes the phone praying to the phone gods.]

Please don’t be broken.

[She collects the rest of the things and walks from the bay area, only sort of paying attention to the hologram. It’s pretty cool actually but she doesn’t really want to linger on that.]

[The water hasn’t broken her phone but it is stuck in video mode which Airy feels awkward about because that’s her face and people she doesn’t know can see it.]

Hi. I’m Airy… well sort of Airy that isn’t my full name. [She pauses, closes her eyes and then starts over.] Anyway I dropped... everything in the water and it’s sort of wet. [Which is obvious.] I sort of read it but I sort of didn’t.

Is this like the Twilight Zone?

[Which she’s watched recently because it’s on Netflix.]

I'm surprised the boxes don't drop in the water more often.

[Honestly, he's surprised this is the first he's heard of it.]

Not sure what your 'Twilight Zone' is, but the hologram of the Schnee girl covered the basics. Hard to believe, I know.

That device of yours in working order? Nova City's got a repair shop if you need it looked at.

[Which she isn't used to having. She shakes the phone a bit.]

It's working... ish.

[Airy pauses and decides it'd be better to just talk about the Twilight Zone.] The Twilight Zone is a really old TV show where the good episodes are in black and white and it sorta messes with your head.

[He shrugs.]

Shakin' it's not gonna help much. I work at the place so seein' that you're new and you kinda need that thing, I'll look it over for free this one time.

[It's also partially because he's bored out of his mind. He can only read for so long before needing something else to do.]

Yeah, I'll pass on that. I've had enough things messin' with my head just by takin' part in a war.

[Here, the sky pirate will commiserate with you...at least a bit.]

I really haven't the slightest idea. It isn't home, that much is certain. [He inclines his head.] Hello, "Sort of Airy". I'm called Balthier.

Hmm...well, it's certainly as strange as the Twilight Zone, though I doubt as moralistic. The morals of the story sometimes seem a long time coming.

[Nathan's eyes go wide when he sees the video. She's...she just...looks different.

And she didn't ask after anyone. She would have, at least he's pretty sure she would have.]

...Airy...?

[Airy blinks curiously at the screen on her phone. He's cute but she doesn't remember him. She shifts awkwardly though he probably can't see that part.]

Ah... yeah.

[As an awkward silence falls between them Airy shivers, the cold air biting at her wet skin.]

I think that's the point.

[Not that it's like a happy children's show but it's suppose to make people realize things about their life they might not have otherwise.]

[Airy flushes a bright red at his hello.]

Airy is fine. On its own I mean.

[She pauses awkwardly but manages to get her face features under control. Her bright green eyes shine curiously back at him.]

What do you mean isn't home? I mean... we can at least get back home if we want to... right?

[Not saying she wants too but in case she did.]

[Shaking or hitting technology fixes it; as far as Airy is concerned.]

Really? [That is super nice of him.]

Is there a war here?

[She's a little confused now.]

[He can't really judge. He's probably kicked his F-15 once or twice. Except he'll judge anyway because that's how he rolls.]

Once you got your bearings, swing by the Sunfire Repair Shop in Nova City.

[He shakes his head.]

Not here that I know of. Where I came from is a completely different story.

[Yukiko was making sure that all the food they needed had been brought and was currently walking back from a near by store when she could see the other one.]

Did you fall into the water?

Everything should hopefully be okay, even if you did drop it in the water.

[If that was what she was worried about anyway.]

[He nods.]

Very well, Airy.

[Her questions, however, illicit only a shake of his head.]

I'm afraid not, though several of us are working on it. I'd suggest finding that map stand you so hastily passed and taking it's recommendations for lodging. You'll be here a while. May as well be comfortable.

[Airy turns as if lost looking for the map stand that he mentioned. Her own map is to wet to open.]

Okay...

[Normally she wouldn't mind finding a random place to sleep except she's wet and it's cold. Last she remembers it's fall but here it feels more like winter. She finds the stand after a moment and moves towards it.]

I have to pay for it... [It isn't a question but a dismayed statement.]

[Airy is a little directionally impaired so asking her to get her bearings is like asking a cat not to freak out at the sight of a cucumber. She just nods her head and then shakes her phone again which produce little droplets of water from the phone's edge.]

Can I stop by now?

[She probably shouldn't have it on while it's wet... she isn't really sure.

At the mention of war her eyes flick back towards the screen. Okay, so she doesn't really watch the news and she has no idea what's happening all over the world right now but she's sure that there is always a fight going on somewhere, as depressing as that is to think about, so maybe he's from one of those places? Either way, she doesn't really want to question it.]

[Airy looks up feeling a little bit like a fish out of water. She nods her head trying to pull at her wet things like that might fix the fact that she is soaked through.

Near Airy's feet, a small goldfish struggles on the pavement, however it's gone the next second and is most likely just a trick of the light. Goldfish don't just appear on the pavement.]

Yeah...

[She makes it sounds like this is common which does make Airy feel a little bit better about crashing into the water and potentially destroying her phone.]

[There is a drop of water on the screen with Airy quickly wipes away with her thumb. She stares at the boy wondering how on earth and why he has his hair standing up like that though she doesn't consider it something worth mentioning or asking about. Instead she shifts awkwardly looking down where she laid out her wet things.]

I can't get my phone out of video chat.

[She admits lamely.

Airy is usually pretty good with phones and technology however she can't beat the effects of water on the device.]

[He looks crestfallen as the realization hits him.

She doesn't know him.]

...you must be cold. I'm not far from the bay, if you want somebody to show you where you can get some dry clothes.

Ah, yeah.

[She smiles.]

That'd be awesome.

[She doesn't remember him at all and the last things she does remember is going to bed in Antonio's apartment where Nathan is sleeping one door away.

Airy's gaze flicks at the screen before glancing around.]

I guess I should stay put?

[Her map is wet and she isn't sure if she's still by the 'bay' only she hasn't moved since she woke up since she laid out all the things from that box.]

And your redbills are soaked, if I understand correctly.

[He sighs. It's not an annoyed sound, but more of a sympathetic one.]

Stay put. I can make a small detour in my rounds and stop by.

O-okay...

[That's what happens when you get paper money wet... it remains wet.

Airy nods feeling a little bit like a drowned rat. She takes a seat on a bench and looks over towards the bay's entrance. She can at least claim that this isn't her fault, there is no way her imagination could think this up.]

[He nods, shoring up the crestfallen expression to one that's more neutral. Thank you, acting school. Thankfully, a lot of the clothing shops are open this late and he actually knows her size...]

I'll grab you a coat on the way. It's freezing out.

...I'm Nathan, by the way.

[Airy just nods feeling a little dumbstruck after everything that's happened in the last 24 hours.]

Thank you... Nathan.

[She doesn't know why saying his name feels so awkward but it does.]

I figured. I've seen people do it before in he past. If you want to get dry my inn is very close by.

[She moved herself to gestured in a direction. She knew it really was close, five minutes at best.]
