[Even though Fai looks awfully tired, he is still continuing to work, a little action figure that looked a lot like him sat on his desk as he put another file away, leaning back slightly.]

Well with that it looks like a barriers are steady, which means I don't have to work all night as well as the morning. [A little yawn passes by his lips. He doesn't get much sleep that much was obvious right about now.]

Which means Everglade is at least to a point safe from needless killings during the others night time wondering. This means that I am able to help out with requests that other residents need in terms of protection and to continue to work on a little self reliant group of natives that helps to protect this place in emergencies. I'm also planning on doing other things now I have the time for them.

[He leant over the table lightly for the moment.]

Hikaru, I would like to request a meeting with you as soon as possible.

[Once he had finished with his video feed he switched to private.]

I am curious...just how likely is it that the creatures will actually attack the people's homes?

Since that law came into places, I've gotten... well not a lot of sleep.

[His thinking over it wasn't as great anyway. At best he knew he got at least two to three hours of sleep.]

How likely? From some past reports it's shown it does happen. Not every day but at least two to three times a week.

Yep, since I put them up last month they seem to be doing the trick.

I mean I understand that if fear in Everglade is meant to be a thing. But people do need to have a moment or two where the possibility of death isn't a thing.

The reason is, a lot of our clan members are still in training and need combat experience, and they can't exactly proceed with their journey in this world. Although, it would defeat the purpose if the creatures choose to leave the homes alone...

On the other hand, perhaps the clan could go on the offensive. They do need to eat as well, after all.

No need to go on the offensive, just being on guard would do. Even more so since you aren;t human you would be allowed to do whatever you like an Everglade anyway.

Yes, I think someone explained to me how the barrier works. It's a shame scary movies can't work the same way though.

True...but I think they would kill a few beasts anyway, either for food or for materials and trinkets to scavenge.

Then maybe it would be best to not have them involved. I would rather no one be killed.

These people don't know what a scary movie is. Nor do I personally, but I guess it sounds obvious.

As for the healing... Is it okay if I give this fact to the emergency team I set up? It's for when there is an emergency that isn't because of Everglade being... Itself. People get together to help out the natives and set up healing centers to help wounded if they are to occur.

[He nods.]

It sounds like you've got your hands full over there. How many deputies have you appointed so far?

Well, all right...they'd probably be bored anyway.

Two, Sakura mostly handles the ghostly residents as she can speak to them and understand them a lot better than I and a pleasant girl named Hikaru who helps me out with everything else should I ask.

I'm the only one who can handle the barriers so hiring more would be pointless for that.

And maybe you should. Some people need to learn.

Well, I used to work there, so if you need any help with anything...

...I'm not asking you to pay me, but I can't just...watch that asshole hurt the people I used to protect.

[Yeah...he's definitely worried about you, Fai. For now though, he'll just be heading over to Fai's office, giving a knock at the door once he arrives.]

And if I do ask for your help I would pay you with my own money from my businesses. My guardian payment still goes towards the fund for repairs should they ever need it.

[He moved to get up from behind the desk heading toward the other to give him a hug.]

Of course I did. It's been a couple days since I last saw you.

[Considering when he wasn't working he probably just crashed around because it was closer than actual home.]

[Ronan nods. That sounds like a plan to him.]

I used to be a deputy under Ted. I kind of have a soft spot for the place.

That's understandable. We all probably have that one city we want to protect no matter what.

[He nods.] I guess, yeah. It was the first place I called home here.

Well, I hope that I protect the place you called home well enough. Which reminds me, I should really get back to finalizing the papers for a couple cases.

[Ronan scoffs, shaking his head.] Fucking paperwork. It never ends, does it?

No it doesn't, but thankfully I'm on top of it for the most part.

[Somehow, it could be because of the lack of sleep he's had the past month.]

[Ronan nods, getting the idea of what Fai's talking about easily enough.]

I won't. I still have a few things to do, so I should get back to it.

[He has a couple meetings among other things after all.]

[Zelos happily returned the hug when he entered, nuzzling at Fai's neck a moment to give a couple of little kisses.]

It has, hasn't it? How're you holding up?

Holding up fine, though I think if I were to sleep now I would probably fall asleep for the next few days.

[He smiled happily for a moment, he figured he should really let go in a minute, but not before giving the other a quick kiss on the lips and moved away.]

Though with you here, I feel much better. Which reminds me, I have something for you that I managed to find.

[Ronan nods.] I'll let you get back to it. Thanks for the update.
