We're people who can change into Titans. They aren't stupid enough to try something. If they wanted to, as Mikasa did, all you had to do was point out how that would end. But now one of their own had been killed - does that not force their hand? Did you think at all, Reiner?[Annie's voice is slowly rising.]
We don't know anything about this world. We have no plan and now everyone knows what we are. No one here knows us. We just got here and someone is dead. Why should they side with us? Where will we be able to go that we won't be hunted by scared humans?
Then at least we could have made them look like the criminals instead of us!
Adapt when it's not even going to be safe to show our faces when we go out to get food? [Annie hurls that at him sounding as peeved as she looks. Even titan-shifters need to eat and need to rest and be damned if she's returning to those ruins.
She stops cold. The expression on her face freezes and she's giving a look very much like the one that frightened Eren so much on that day of training.]
I....as if I'd care about regular humans! [Her voice is not as steady as it should have been. She cares a great deal more than she'd like to admit. She told herself it was just admiration of a few traits, nothing more. She was never supposed to get attached to the idiots, but a few wormed their way in.
No. It's because they were all she had for company. It'll wear off now that she's alone.]
Like I said, we can get allies! I've already spoken with someone who's willing to take our side. It's not over.
[There are ways to work around being seen anyway, so it's not like they need to starve themselves. Disguises aren't something uncommon for Annie either.
Annie's stare is returned with one of Reiner's own, angry looks. It's clear from her reaction that she's still feeling for the enemy side. Of course, he's also had his attachment, but he abandoned most of them with his other personality. Of course, the soldier side of him still remained, which gave him a lot of problems... but that isn't the point right now.]
You're a disgrace as a warrior, Annie. You hesitated with Marco, you didn't kill Armin OR Jean when you had the chance and now you're going on about me killing Armin, because you care for him still!
Who? [Why? is more what she wants to ask. Annie is automatically on her guard about people who take an undue interest in her, maybe it's habit from having to be careful for so long, but especially when it's people that know what she is. They might want to help and by 'help' mean exploit her. Trust did not come easily to her. These people weren't interested in them for nothing.]
I didn't hesitate, I was in shock over how stupid you both were! You discussed our plans right in the open! You're careless and reckless and this is why I was chosen to get Eren. You're the disgrace! Furthermore, I don't relish in pointless death!
[She pauses, looking shocked at her own outburst. It's rare for her to raise her voice this much. Should she have said all that?]
[Her voice is still angry, but more controlled. Something troubled flickers in her eyes at his accusations, but she squashes it.] I was trying to keep our secret a secret so that I would have more time to gather the information we needed from inside the interior.
This has nothing to do with my personal feelings. [She looks away. Though it would have been nice, just for a little while to see what it was like to...no. It's foolish. And futile. Those hopes ended when she became what she is.]
I will tell you more details when I know what I'm doing.
[It's better if he figured out what the group he's getting mixed in was planning than bringing in Annie right away. Heck, he's not even sure if Annie wants to follow him there, so why would he. If only he had Bertholt here. He'd actually listen.
Reiner's a bit taken back by Annie raising his voice. It's not often it happens and she's clearly annoyed over this whole ordeal. Figures.]
I didn't relish! I only did it because I thought it necessary. Armin is a danger to us, with his brains. Too bad death isn't permanent here... he'll be back soon. [His voice sounds cold, like he's actually disappointed that he'll be alive again soon. He's holding tight to being a cold murdered.]
And as far as I know, you failed your mission. It's why were pushed to our limits and had to try to take Eren ourselves! Had you actually killed Armin and Jean then, maybe you would have succeeded!
Keep telling yourself that. I don't believe it one bit.

Re: Private audio
If this whole place believes we are monsters how long do you think we'll survive here?
Re: Private audio
We'll find allies. Not everyone will side with them.

Re: Private audio
It's not the end for us. We made the world our enemies a long time ago - we just need to adapt to this place.
Or are you feeling sad over losing Armin? I remember that you didn't kill him when you should have. Do you feel something for him?
