Okay. Not gonna lie. I need work.

[He shrugs, still lounging in Gale's apartment as he looks around a bit.] ...I should also probably look into getting my shop back.

Anyway, consider this an open PSA to the Guardians of the cities. In my world, I run a sort of odd jobs agency called Devil May Cry. My primary title is that of Devil Hunter, but I'm also a certified Private Investigator, and have a decent knowledge of archaeology when it comes to ruins and artifacts. So, you have a problem you need solved? Give me a call and if the price is right, you too can have the problem solving skills of yours truly.

[He deflates for a second.] Man, I'm starting to sound like an infomercial...

About time you're decidin' not to be a freeloader.

[He grins with that teasing remark while he's doing push-ups in the middle of the floor... with Gunner sitting on his back for added weight. The dog wasn't invited to do that, but you can't really stop a playful german shepherd.]

You're not lookin' to move out too, are you? I've grown to like having a roommate.

[And having a Designated Pizza Night... which in reality was probably every night.]

[That's one thing Dante was happy he didn't have to do. Demon physiology kept him in perfect shape all the time.]

It wouldn't be moving out so much as having access to my toy box. As much as I love Rebellion, Ebony and Ivory, I gotta have variety. Over the years I've assembled a nice collection of Devil Arms.

Hell, I have a guitar strung with lightning that summons electrified bats, and doubles as a scythe. Can't just shove something as lovely as Nevan in a closet forever. Gotta give her a bit of TLC from time to time.

[He's just going to wiggle his fingers suggestively.]

[Gale didn't really need to do it for the sake of strength. It was more to keep his cybernetic bits moving so they don't lock up on him. It's also the best thing to give him an excuse to not have his shirt on and showing that the majority of his right arm is really the only part of his upper torso aside from his face that has his natural skin color and not the dark gray skin with cyan glowing markings.]

Well, at least I wouldn't lose my buddy in pizza eating. That's a pretty lonely sport sometimes.

[He does stop mid-push up and glances over at Dante with a quirked eyebrow.]

[Because that's just... uh. Weird. Also put those fingers away, Dante. You're making him jealous of a guitar.]

[Sherlock finds this post most intriguing, no small reason being this man looks nothing like a detective. He looks like a bruiser who does most of his talking with his fists.]

[Here, have a fairly hot brunette looking curiously at your video feed, Dante.]

Okay, you got me. What's a Devil Hunter do exactly?

You indeed heard right.

[He folds his arms behind his head.]

Used to be a succubus with a thing for my old man. Her song would command electrified bats, but once I beat her, she turned into a guitar-scythe.

[He's tried very hard to maintain that image, actually. Good to know it's working.]

Yup. Don't get much work in that line, but when I do it's usually someone wanting to prove some poor schmuck's innocent of something, or a missing person's case that the cops have given up on. Either way, I get results.

[Have a smug smirk and a shrug.]

We hunt devils.

[Yeah that's all you're getting out of him at first. He loves beating around the bush.]

[That smirk might turn a tad flirty. She does like a mysterious man.]

"Devils"? Is that like a demon?

Same thing really. Devil just sounds fancier.

[And Dante is definitely mysterious. Mysterious and dorky.]

[She laughs, pushing her hair back behind her ear.]

Yeah, I guess it does, but only a little.

[She crosses her arms.]

So, what are "devils" like, anyway?

Usually, they're violent, powerful, and like eating people. The more powerful ones though are the ones that have brains behind the brawn. They're the real threats.

Oooh, they sound scary.

[But her expression doesn't seem to reflect that sentiment. If anything, she's more interested than she was before.]

Do people start business a lot here? Like that works... they don't just hang around for a few months and then go bankrupt?

Also what's a Devil in the context of Devil hunter and are those sorts of things here?

They can be. I'm just scarier.

[He grins a bit, sweeping some hair out of his face for maximum effect.]

Oh yeah, a bunch of people have apparently. The paper usually has job listings. Makes a good face cover too.

As for how, beats me. I'm just announcing it and hoping something sticks.

Devils are just what they sound like. Demonic beings. As for are they here? There's one that I know of but he's not the usual bloodthirsty fare. They're rare but they're legit.

[Airy smiles brightly for a moment as if he'd just handed her a cookie.]

Really? [That's kind of exciting in a weird way.]

Wait.. bloodthirsty... like vampires?

[She only knows one and he seemed nice.]

Well, bloodthirsty in more of the mindless violence sense. Never ran into a vampire myself, so I couldn't say if they were demons or not.

[Have a shrug.]

So then, just everything that goes bump in the night?

[Airy's rather frank with most of her comments.]

How do you know if something is bad or not? I mean besides the obvious.... err... sort a things.

[She makes a face when she says err which somehow ends up looking more adorable than threatening on Airy.]

That's a pretty hefty claim, Dante. I'd hate to find out you don't measure up to it.

[She moves her head to clear the hair from her eyes.]

Is that so? And how do you go about getting these results?

[Just don't get him started talking classic rock or jazz. He's kind of a dork.]

Good old fashioned detective work but - given my main job title - it usually involves a healthy dose of gunplay too.

I'd hate so too. I mean, a woman of your caliber turning out to be a demon? It'd just break my heart!

Intuition mainly. I've gotten good at reading body language and figuring out motives. For instance, I can tell from that face that you've not so much as hurt a fly, right?

[Gale decides that doing push-ups right now really wasn't worth it, so he just lowers himself to the floor to lay on his stomach, propping his elbow on the floor and resting his chin in his hand.]

Y'know, if I didn't know it was coming from you, I would have automatically assumed that you had a little too much to drink. Because women that turn into electric scythe guitars? What the hell?
