Notes: A very cranky prince in the middle of his rite to become king just woke up and isn't exactly happy to be here.
Warnings: None yet. Possible violence?

[ When he first wakes up in the cave by the bay, Van is still clad in full armour and has his sword sheathed at his back. He's disoriented, groggy, right before he shoots straight up...

... And falls right into the water with a yelp.

When Van gets up again he startles, jumping and drawing his sword as the hologram of Weiss appears, but when she starts speaking he begins to listen quietly. He's still breathing hard, only sparing his 'pod' a glance (hey, his package hadn't fallen into the water, lucky Van!), and he wears the necklace whilst only barely noticing how prominent both the red and green stones are.

With his package in one hand and sword in the other, the boy ventures out of the cave and into the bay, frowning at his surroundings before, out of his vision, he hears footsteps.

Immediately he whirls around, almost snarling and ready to strike in case it's his original quarry, though more likely it's simply one of the current residents before him. Which means that there's a soaking wet twig of a teenager holding a sword rather defensively while glaring at whoever is before him. ]

[ Adrien had arrived a few minutes earlier and while he thankfully hadn't fallen into the water, he winced in sympathy when he saw the boy was too far away for him to help. He had already called on Plagg to transform into Cat Noir because he did't want to be powerless in case someone did attack him or this was some form of Akuma plot.

Things he was not expecting was the boy coming out and pulling out a genuine sword. Hastily, he got his staff out, just in case. ]

Looks like you made a splashing entrance. Can you hold off the stabbing before I try and answer your questions?

[ He sighs when he sees the (oddly dressed) boy, still wearing that rather nasty expression as he straightened and sheathed his sword. ]

Then answer. Who are you?

[Toby came to investigate the noise having been trained to be alert whenever walking anywhere. His hands are in the pocket of his leather jacket, his stormy gray eyes glancing at the sword and then the boy as if they were the furthest thing from a threat. Vaan smells human and his sword smells like steel which meant that he wouldn't be much of a challenge for the trained enforcer. Not to mention that Toby was at least three times his age.]

You shouldn't swing that around so casually.

[His voice is low and as he steps from the shadows Vaan will realize how tall he is.]

Hello?

[Sakura calls out softly unsure of who might be there. She doesn't stop by the bay often. She's given up hope that her friends might arrive her. When she sees the boy with his sword drawn she stops looking at the gleaming blade with caution.]

Excuse me. I'm Sakura.

[She picks the corner of her skirts up and curtsies with the formality of a princess.]

I didn't mean to startle you. Have you just arrived?

... It wasn't casually. I was fighting a dragon before.

[ He huffs, lowering his sword for the moment but not sheathing it. Still, he doesn't seem intimidated by the least by Toby at all. ]

You still haven't answered me, who are you?

[ A girl?

He sighs a bit, shaking his head before lowering his sword. He has to calm down... If the dragon was still near, it likely would have struck by now. It seems like it hadn't followed him here, at least. ]

I have. You have not by any chance seen a wild land dragon, have you? I was just fighting it, and it's dangerous to go near them if you're not prepared for them.

[ He pouts a little at the lack of manners, but he sees no reason to pursue it just yet. ]

The name's Cat Noir. I'm one of the new arrivals to Genessia, like yourself.

[Toby's eyebrow rose when Vaan mentions a dragon.]

You haven't introduced yourself.

[He doesn't know why he should give his name, besides the fact that his name will mean nothing to Vaan. It isn't as if they've met before or were even from the same place. Swords aren't common in 2017.]

[Sakura shakes her head.]

There is a dragon here but she's very nice. There might be dangerous dragons in Fayren but I've never met them.

[Please don't hurt the nice dragon Vaan.]

Why are you looking for a dragon?

[ He won't hurt the nice dragon if he figures out in time that it isn't violent. Dragons don't normally talk where he's from after all. ]

... It doesn't concern you. So long as it isn't here and attacking people, that is all I care about.

... Van.

[ He sighs after a beat, glancing away from the boy. ]

You haven't seen a land dragon, have you? I was fighting it before arriving here.

[Sakura nods her head as if agreeing with his declaration.]

It isn't and if it did arrive it would be stopped.

[If not Vaan someone would stop it.]

You don't seem surprised to me in another world.

[Maybe he travels from world to world like her.]

[ He gives a petulant glare for that one, but at least he's going to answer. Sort of. ]

I am Van.

[ ... Apparently that's all he's giving okay then. ]

It isn't that I'm not surprised... I suspect that this is the mystic moon, another world close to ours. It isn't surprising that it's inhabited. I still don't know how or why I came here, only that I need to find the dragon, slay it, and return home as soon as I can.

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure we would have noticed a dragon coming by here.

[ Or any dragon, period. That would certainly be an eye-opener. ]

I don't know of a way home. There are many people who are stuck here. You might be able to slay a dragon in Fayren though.

[She remembers their being mean dragons there.]

My home world is called Clow Country. It's a dessert.

[Nothing like this place.]

[He can give short answers too which is honestly what he prefers. Only fools talk to much.

His gaze flicks to the sword that's still clasped in Van's grip while lowed at his side. A light smirk pulls at the corner of Toby's lips only to disappear a moment later.]

What do you plan to do with that?

[Toby nods to the sword.]

I see.

[ Finally he seems to relax a little, letting his body slump out of its tense form and into a more natural stance. ]

If it is here, I must find it and fast. It's dangerous, but more than that I need to slay it myself.

I was planning on using it to slay the dragon.

[ He shakes his head, calming down at long last and sheathing the sword. ]

... There was something I needed from it -- its heart.

It would be difficult to find a way, seeing as I don't know how I came to be here in the first place.

[ He looks at the girl's face, frowning a bit before approaching her -- calmly, until he stops a few feet away. ]

... If I won't return home for some time, I won't worry about it too much here. What I needed from it is its heart, but there's no point if I won't be returning immediately.

I hail from Fanelia, a country in the mountains. It's on a world called Gaea.

[Toby watches him silently for a few seconds before finally speaking again.]

Why do you need a dragon's heart?

[It sounds like some sort of magic which doesn't particularly interest him.]

[ How much does he reveal? Van's still uncomfortable, evaluating whether or not he should say. Still, that much couldn't hurt, not that he can tell. ]

It's a rite that I need to complete. Once I return with it, I can be crowned King of Fanelia.

[ You're talking to a crown prince, Toby! ]

Okay, but I don't think it's here.

[ Was that unclear? Maybe that was unclear. ]

I am aware that it's not here, else we would have heard it by now.

[ He sheathed the sword already, what more do you want from him!? ]

I'm glad we're on the same page!

[ Also glad he put the sharp sword away. ] What are you going to do now?
