[ The video flickers a bit before it focuses on a young-looking boy. There's nothing about him that particularly stands out among the rest of Genessia's residents. He runs a hand through his hair before speaking, quiet and unsure. ]

Sooo . . . I have to have a job? Which would be all right except I don't think my father is here to help me do my modeling work. Annnd I really don't want to model. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone at the age of fourteen?

Something not creepy would be nice. I know my rights.

[ Genessia probably has a lot of heroes, costumed or otherwise running around. Cat Noir finds himself a quiet rooftop to survey the city, moving from one place to another. Everything seems peaceful for the most part, he thinks to himself. It was a little strange to be working without Ladybug nearby. Who could he count for backup?

Could he even help people here?

Neatly, he settles himself on the edge of a roof, watching people go by, feeling a little lost. ]

[One of the first things Marc had done upon arriving was to buy himself a hoodie and a fake mustache. All he had to do after that was change his gait and break out the Nooh Yawk accent. Now he could be Jake Lockley, man of the streets and potential future cabbie, whenever (IF ever) Moon Knight needed eyes on the ground.]

[It's on his second night in that guise when he spots the feline silhouette on the roof. Two decades at this vocation and it's still baffling how the average Joe never bothers to look up, blissfully unaware that shadows are looking down on them from above. Shadows both good and evil.]

[Which one does this stray cat belong to? He decides to find out without donning his priestly vestments. He comes up through the building's fire escape, a swift and silent veteran of darker nights. Once on the roof, he makes sure his hood's up and he's s no less than ten steps away from the boy. Then:]

Psst. Watcha lookin' at, kid?

[ Cat Noir had sensed him a few seconds earlier but that doesn't stop his instinctive reaction to have his staff ready on hand. Still, he immediately relaxes a bit. Here, in this place, he's not sure who he's supposed to be defending. When the Akuma was around, it was easy. A clear-cut enemy.

He's never actually fought real people before. Still, that doesn't mean he's going to let his feelings show. With an air of casual indifference. ]

Oh, you know. Just checking things out. Nice place you have here. See a lot of trouble?

Not yet, considerin' I kinda just got here. Been hearin' plenty though.

[He takes a seat at a respectful distance, following the kid's eyes to the throngs of people passing below.]

Where I'm from, people watchin' the streets in funny suits mean serious business. Question is: which kind're ya up to.

[ Cat Noir stays on his feet. Just in case. ]

The superhero kind? That's kind of obvious, isn't it?

[ Unless people think he's a cat burglar. That would be a catastrophe. ]

No, it ain't. Cats're mixed bags where I'm from. Includin' thieves.

[He removes the toothpick between his lips, regarding it seemingly absently.]

But okay, benefit a' the doubt. Say you are. Y'sure y'know what yer doin'?

Well, where I'm from, I'm a hero and the whole city knows it.

[ He sets his staff on the roof, leaning against it, his large green eyes on the city. ]

I know how it works. I just don't know how this place works.

Coz it ain't yer city yet. Till it is, ya might wanna step yer game up.

[He jabs a finger to where Cat Noir is leaning on his staff.]

Next guy who sees ya playin' I Spy might want worse'n a friendly word with ya.

[Funny to hear from a mask who deliberately wears white to work, but they're not talking about him anyway.]

[ He can't help but bristle a little. Sure, he looks a little young, but he has protected Paris several times. He's hardly new at this. ]

I can handle it. Unless there's a law against rooftop gazing?

[He shakes his head.]

No law against playin' hero dress-up either, s'what I'm told.

[He looks at him now, silhouetted against the moon and face partly obscured by his hoodie.]

But I'm pretty sure there's one against killin'. And where I'm sittin', yer invitin' the wrong sort to do that for ya.

[Away he turns, and back goes the toothpick.]

I know how this works too, kid. I also know that when capes as young as you fall, it hurts 'em so much worse than dyin'. Them... and the people around 'em. You ready for that?

[Coz it could happen. It will happen no matter how good and careful he is.]

[And a little something few would expect. For Sans, a human in a cat costume was worth checking out. He was on his break from whatever it is skeletons do, so he can afford the time.

So he made his way to Cat Noir's position rather quickly and stealthy.]

"Hey... Not to, uh, be catty, but... were you, uh... checkin' meow-t?..."

[ seto has generally been ignoring the network in favor of figuring out what to do about kisara and his financial situation here, but this boy pings him so hard for mokuba that he almost cracks a smile at the i know my rights line.

[ his expression is a little less severe than usual, and his tone is actually inquisitive.

Why not work as a waiter then? That's what I did when I was fourteen... actually... it was only for a few months over the summer and I think I was fifteen but that... isn't my point...

Have you gone to the help center? They have a lot of jobs listed there and you might find something you like.

I'm Levy by the way. I work in a book shop in Fayren. What sort of modeling did you do?

[ If he takes a few minutes to stare. Not at the puns (those were great) but at the fact that a skeleton was talking to him. Thankfully, he recovers quickly. ]

I'm open to suggestions. I'd really like to avoid the modeling route but I also don't have a lot of job experience.

[ And it feels odd to be working without her, but maybe she'll show up soon enough. ]
