[At first Dairine tried not to think too much of Conan's lateness. The guy was often busy with errands and other distractions, so some irregularities in his schedule could be expected. Yeah, the recent disappearances kept popping to mind, but Conan was more competent than he looked. Surely he wouldn't go running off to investigate them without mentioning it, right?

...Oh who was she kidding. He absolutely would.

With an aggravated moan, Dairine snaps on the audio function for her communicator. Her voice is rather tight and angry sounding. It serves as a good mask for her nerves as she tries not to think about the wendigo incident.]

Has anyone seen Conan Edogawa wandering around? He's really tiny, looks about seven years old? Short black hair, blue eyes, huge glasses... and talks way too smart for someone so DUMB!!

[Whoops, there went her composure. Dairine takes a deep breath and clears her throat.]

Er, if so, let me know right away.

Dairine? Is something wrong? I haven't seen him, no. At least not recently.

[Levy is always there for her friends so she can understand Dairine's worry.]

I'm guessing this isn't normal for him.

He hasn't shown up at the apartment yet. Usually he's here by now.

[At this time they're typically arguing over what they should have for dinner, unless one or the other had plans. But Conan tended to give her a heads up if he knew he'd be late. Otherwise he'd have an angry Dairine to deal with when he got home.]

This morning. He was heading out to the library at the time.

[Dairine isn't sure what good searching there would do at this point though, especially if Conan has gotten wrapped up in a case. But it might help give her something to do.]

[Dairine finds that a liiiittle creepy, considering she also lives in the apartment. You better not be watching her bedroom, buster. :/]

[But there are more important things to deal with right now.]

[ Of course not! He's a gentleman ~~and you're not Aoko~~! ]

I'll be there as fast as I can.

[ And he will be, because fifteen minutes later, he'll be perched on a windowsill and tapping the glass. ]

We can look for him. I imagine he would answer your message if things were okay...

[Her voice trails off.]

Is this normal for him?

Not exactly. He's been out late before, but he typically sends a message about it.

[Conan knows what she's like when she gets irritated. And staying out without saying anything would definitely do that.]

So this is definitely not normal.

There seem to be reports of missing people all over the city.

[ And if he had to guess . . . the same thing probably happened to Conan. ]

[It's hard to be sure what is normal with Conan. Is it bickering and small errands around the city? Or murders and kidnappings.]

I know. That's what makes it concerning.

[Good. Let's keep it that way.]

[Dairine has been shuffling through Conan's room as she waits, just in case there's some kind of hint as to what plans he had for the day. She's rather on edge so the rapping sound makes her jump. Spotting him at the window, she huffs and opens it, scowling since he embarrassed her.]

For future reference, we have a door.

[ He steps into the room, looking at her in complete and total innocence. ]

And I'm sure it's a perfectly nice door as well.

Well, I'll keep an eye out for him.

[ He can't be that hard to find. ]

[You'd be surprised. He could be an elusive little brat.]

[Dairine doesn't want him searching forever if Conan happens to show up.]

[Mostly likely yes, though Dairine doesn't want to think too hard about that. When things are not okay with Conan, they tend to be VERY bad.]

[She puts the conversation in private mode just in case.]

Yes, and no? He goes to the library pretty often – usually on his own since he's pretty independent. But he hasn't stayed out late without contacting me in a long while.

[Dairine gives an aggravated sigh.]

If I weren't his roommate though it'd probably be a lot more normal.

[Dairine gives him an annoyed look for a few seconds before closing her eyes and sighing. Can't afford to let her irritation get in the way now.]

[Her other broadcast had been pretty public after all.]

It's a superhero name. Secret identity and all that.

[ He does. And he agrees - he has no idea how someone as intelligent as Kudo Shinichi can also be so dumb at the same time. ]

Conan is missing, you say? Where was he last seen?

[Levy hums softly.]

[A soft rustle can be heard as she moves around.]

Let's split up and look. I'll check Fayren first since... [People have been disappearing there.]

The little one? I have not spoken to him in quite a while, I'm afraid. Would you like me to keep my eyes open, ma chérie?
