03: Cool Down [Open Action]

Who: Adela & OPEN
Where: Hospital, Genessia City
When: March 25th-31st
Notes: She's recovering from her recent kidnapping experience, and unfortunately she's not able to do it at home. Whether someone's heard about her disappearance and rescue or has simply come across the wrong room is up to you.
Warnings: None for now.

[ Nehra... She's exhausted.

Adela sighs as she stares up at the ceiling of the sterile room, not liking the smell or the environment around her. Even with Katara's healing she had lost a lot of blood from the whole kidnapping incident, with only an apparent strange new power to show for it. Well, maybe not only that.

There are still the wounds to her pride she has to nurse, as well.

She's still stuck at the hospital too, as they want her to stay there with no one at her 'home' to take care of her while she recovers. Not only from blood loss, but from the TV world gate itself having taken a lot out of her during her time in there as well. Her shoulder is still incredibly stiff too, still requiring a sling to keep it still and prevent unnecessary strain.

It bothers her to no end, as she can't work or move or... Well, do anything other than rest. She hasn't even had a chance to thank those who saved her properly yet.

Finally the sound of someone coming into the hospital room gets her attention, and Adela tries to sit up to see who's there when she hears it. ]

Hello...?

[ ... Damn, her voice feels too weak then. She can't help but hate how weak she sounds and feels, on top of everything else. Maybe whoever it is can help her feel better about all that. ]

[When she said 'I'm coming in', she wasn't expecting a female voice to be responding. Satsuki arrives, adorn in a uniform that's decidedly military inspired. In her arm is some sort of potted plant that pretty much looks like a tree.]

An associate of mine was in this room earlier, my apologies.

[Normally she would just walk right on out, but the weakness in Adela's voice is all too familiar; Luke was just as weak sounding when she saw him. Satsuki isn't certain if she's welcome or not, so for now she waits to see if the girl ignores her or not.]

[ Adela stares at her, trying to take it in a moment before shaking her head and trying to fall back into the pillow. ]

Do not trouble yourself over it. I am sure he is looking forward to you seeing him, right?

[Well isn't she well spoken?]

Perhaps; I do not consider myself a very exciting person.

[Satsuki clearly looks like a fun-time party animal, right? Though the question gives her pause, and she furrows her brows. Saying he was a boy was either a lucky guess, or she isn't the first to have made the error today.]

Are you waiting for someone?

[ More an assumption on Adela's part, and she would have apologized had she been corrected. She looks to the ceiling, closing her eyes and trying to relax a little bit. ]

No, I thought that you might have been a nurse or doctor. My apologies.

The fault is mine for not checking. Get well soon.

[Satsuki nods, then turns around to head back out of the room. However she pauses a moment, then turns once more- This time to step closer to the red-haired girl. Upon doing so, she may very well sense that there are a couple of decorations upon her that glow of magic- One of them being one of the pins at her breastpocket, and the other sheathed in the intricately patterned katana scabbard upon her waist.

However what she offers is the greenery within her hands.]

Actually, I would like you to have this. Are you familiar with bonsai trees?

What?

[ She does sense it, and it does get her attention... For all of a second before she's being offered a tree. Immediately Adela tries to hold up both hands to try and politely turn down the gift, though the pain shooting through her shoulder when she tries it and she has to stop, stiffening while she uses her other hand to try and brace it. Damn, it still shouldn't have been that sore!

She has to catch her breath, taking a moment before attempting to answer her again. ]

I... I could not, as kind as it is. You do not even know my name, miss, there is no reason to give me anything.

While not one that you know of, a reason most certainly exists. Still it is true that introductions have yet to be made. I am Satsuki Kiryuin; I am the Headmaster of Honnouji Second Academy, and this will be my second year in Genessia.

If you will not keep it, I at least insist you borrow it during your stay.

[But she'll hold on to it for now, the pained reaction is noticed, but not commented on.]

Bonsai is an art form of my culture- the art of growing ornamental dwarfed trees and I have grown quite a few. Its purpose for the viewer is to assist in contemplation and relaxation and I am certain it would aid in your recovery as it has for my associate.

Well.. That is only half true. He does not enjoy meditative recover very much.

Still, would you not agree that is something this room lacks?

[ She's a little startled with that, but she doesn't say anything else as she just listens to Satsuki. Something for contemplation and relaxation? Well... She has to admit, something like that might help her settle down, if only by bringing a little colour. A selfish part of her does want to keep it, at least for a little while. ]

It is... And my name is Adela. It is good to meet you, Miss Satsuki. He truly would not miss it though?

That I have. As you might guess, the investigation progress has been on the slow side. Genessia is quite the mystery, but I am determined to solve it.

[That said, just thinking about it makes her a little tired since she's reached the point where she's had enough of the place. Oddly enough, being addressed as 'Miss' is rather revitalizing for her.]

A pleasure.. Adela. [Apparently addressing people by their first name isn't something she's accustomed to.] But no, it would not be an issue in the slightest. I planned to switch this with the one he has at current, and would rather lend a 'new' one rather than 'used'.

[ Unfortunately she has no last names to give, honestly mostly everyone outside nobility having a last name is foreign to her. Not that Satsuki needs to know that.

She nods then, finally offering a small smile - even if it's a little hard to take. ]

In that case... Thank you for your kindness. I will be sure to return it as soon as I am able.

There is no rush; just focus on recovering.

[Since Luke's accident, seeing younger people in the hospital has started to hit her a bit hard. It is a bit unlike her to have a single person effect her so heavily, but it's difficult to push aside.]

You look around fourteen- That would be about his age. Do you mind if I ask how you ended up here? [A pause.] It is fine if you would rather not say.

My seventeenth birthday is in less than a month...

Still, at her question she shakes off the momentary gloom and sighs. ]

I was kidnapped, thrown into another world... I nearly lost my arm, and I likely would have died had there not been people who came to rescue me.

[Oh damn it this is, what, the third time this happened? Satsuki cringes, then clears her throat.]

... My apologies.

[But that uncomfortable moment is short lived as she's left momentarily stunned. It couldn't be a coincidence, could it?]

My associate was also kidnapped, and was brought here in a condition similar to your own- But he did not remember anything between. Do you remember anything about the people that rescued you?

I know who they were, but I did not notice anything special about them being in there, only that they seemed to be in there by choice. They fought... A shadow. A shadow of me.

[ She's frowning now, struggling to remember it all. It's easier now that she's had a little bit of a chance to rest, and it's still recent, but still... ]

... Two boys, Edward Elric and Yugi Motou. A girl named Katara. I know they came to save me.

[ It's definitely hard to remember, and she lifts her hand to rest on her forehead as she strains to recall everything. ]

They came... Just as the shadow began to attack. They managed to help calm it down... Just enough for me to pacify it.

What an unusual experience.. It sounds like the group that helped you is different from the ones that helped my associate. But at this rate, it may be only a matter of time until the perpetrator is found.

[Satsuki moves to set the bonsai upon the windowsill or table closest to Adela.]

Still, that sheds a lot of light on the situation, so thank you. I truly appreciate the information.

How do you feel now? That is, do you feel as if you are still in any threat of this shadow going berserk once more?

No, not at all. I... What it was, they were my innermost feelings - things I tried to hide, and refused to acknowledge. Once I had accepted them... The shadow changed into something else, then vanished. I still do not quite understand it, only that accepting it ended the fighting.

[ Her eyes remain on the bonsai then, and she's frowning a bit more darkly. ]

... It only happened in the first place because I was naive.

[Satsuki's brows furrow in thought. It sounds somewhat similar to something Satsuki herself has experienced, or a variation of it at least. Following a nod, and folding her hands behind her back she asks.]

Really. What makes you say your naivety is to blame?

Because I was far too trusting. Once I did realize something was off, I was unprepared for what would happen.

[ She's definitely frustrated with herself over that one. She's still looking at the bonsai, beginning to recount the story more thoroughly. ]

I was seeking a place to live, looking at what I might like in Attleton, but I ended up getting lost. A man arrived then, offering to show me to the gate...

[ There's another pause as she struggles to remember, though she does manage to get it out. That much, at least, isn't foggy. ]

When I noticed we were no longer on the main streets and questioned it, he knocked me unconscious. When I awoke, I was in that strange world, in the middle of dense fog, before the shadow came out.

[Satsuki's heart skips a beat as the possibility that Adela could remember more about the kidnapper. While the temptation to press on that is there, she just notes to come back to it later.]

Unfortunately I do not think that kind of trust is uncommon. When brought into a world like this, it can be difficult, even frightening, to consider getting by being distrusting of everyone you meet. Thankfully you've managed to come from it in one piece.

I am not suggesting not to trust anyone.. Adela. It is better to learn from your mistakes rather than just dwell on them.

Maybe so, but I suppose that I had not thought people would not be trustworthy at their words.

[ She does soften a little, offering what might have been the ghost of a smile to Satsuki for that. ]

You truly are very kind, Miss Satsuki... But what I have taken from this is the desire to become stronger, so that what happened to me does not happen to anyone else. I would not wish for such a trial to be forced on anyone.

Fair enough.

[She shakes her head.]

A nice person? I cannot say I agree, but I have found it more difficult to ignore things that are in front me as of late.

[Adela's desire to become stronger though, that really catches her interest.]

That is a goal both noble and beneficial; one I would be willing to support. In what manner in particular would you like to become stronger?

[ She glances up to Satsuki thoughtfully, mostly because she's trying to figure out how to word it. ]

I had practised swordplay since I was a child, though it was for the sole purpose of testing what my uncle and I forged. I had been thinking I should seek to improve on that, so that I could use it to defend.

I see.. Well, there is no shortage of those that are talented with the blade in Fayren, though I am not up to date on whom is available for lessons. What kind of sword do you use?

[Though suddenly something clicks. Adela's batting 1000 today it'd seem.]

You say you forge weapons?

... I do. Nothing advanced like some of what I have seen, but I work at the same forge in Fayren as Madam Fawn.

Madam Fawn.. I'm afraid I have not frequented Fayren enough to recognize the name, but I would be interested in seeing your work sometime.

[She could always get the assistance of the oni to have her sword maintained- But in her opinion it would be more lucrative to give newcomers work. Provided it's as good as she hopes.]

Any particular reason you are looking for housing in a different archway?
