Once again, another announcement was scheduled amongst Genessia at large. Fayren's Guardian, sitting in her familiar chair in that familiar little parlour from which she always made such 'public appearances' of a sort seemed to hold an air of confidence about her person, intermixed with her usually calm and collected demeanour.

"It is my pleasure to officially announce that test runs have been completed, and Fayren's new method of defense is fully implemented."

Satori paused, motioning to the camera. She turns it round, so the camera rests its gaze on a familiar looking doll or two. Well, familiar to people likewise familiar with Satorin's inner circle.

"These are dolls under command of the renowned Puppeteer Magus Alice Margatroid. I hope you will look upon them as a comfort. Many of you may have seen them about Fayren, mostly in the more populated areas, in which law enforcement must stay firm. And as some of you might have observed in the defense of Fayren, they're quite capable of ensuring the city's safety when coupled with everything else."

Satori turned the camera back on herself as her third eye moved a little to compensate staring into the camera.

"The purpose of the Doll Corps is the /primarily/ non-violent capture and holding of criminals until they can be brought before a court and due process of the law. They function autonomously as a reactionary measure to event of violent crime or criminal activities that take place in the open. In practice, this means that the dolls, when confronted with a lawbreaker, will detain them with a weave of magical threads and demand their surrender. More violent or resistant individuals, of course, will be subdued with as little harm as possible to their person, but the end result will be much the same. With these dolls hard at work, it will be much easier to monitor and, if all goes well, halt the efforts of the Hands of Decay to overthrow order."

A small pause before she went into her typical refrain of...

"...Unless anyone would like to sign into the feed to ask questions or let their thoughts be known, that is all."

"It was a joy to take this commission for you, Satori. I'm confident my security dolls will succeed in their tasks."

Impressive work. This should ease the strain on those investigating the Hands, and provide many more eyes to prevent further kidnappings and the like. Now, my main concern is the possible airborne properties of the magic-draining poison that one of the victims mentioned.

I may need to ask for the assistance from Weiss Schnee for that. She has a Castform, a Pokemon that is uniquely sensitive to any changes in the weather and such an event should be easy for it to detect. Once detected, I should be able to manipulate wind currents well enough to keep the poison isolated until a countermeasure can be found.

[ Orin rubs her body along Satori's ankle affectionately.

She can't talk in cat form, but that's not really a problem for her master.

Orin is wondering why Master Satori spends so much time working with the humans (and similar) in the cities, especially when they've got Chireiden here. ]

[Levy looks a little worried.]

My shop is warded and guarded, those dolls most likely won't work in there. I understand magic but not all magic... how do these work? How will they help?

"Hello, this is Alice, the Puppeteer Magus. My dolls in general are controlled by magic strings, but these security dolls are my newest generation which feature semi-automation. They are active at night, and are scattered about and placed out of sight in more public areas; next to money boxes in high traffic, undefended locations, and the like.

Just as you said, your shop is already warded and guarded, not to mention has...low traffic, so no security doll was placed in your shop."

[Alice pauses as the camera catches a glimpse of one of her private dolls delivering a cup of tea to the seven-coloured puppeteer.]

"Are you satisfied with this answer? Or have any other concerns?"

Are they able to see like a recording? Like if something does happen?

[She's really glad that Alice is willing to explain. The initial posted isn't phrased the best way and it sounds worrisome.]

"We've taken that into account and set up a means for the dolls to determine who is a threat and who isn't to avoid friendly fire. We wouldn't want them to accidentally throw a net some child trying to get away from a troubled scene.

So yes, they can see, but not as we do, and they can't broadcast what they see."

[However, she can tell when a doll has been triggered. Alice will remain on the network for as long as needed.]

[Levy nods, that's worrisome but it sounds like they've sort of figured it out.]

Can your dolls be tampered with? I know it sounds silly but I know some of the Hands of Decay do use magic to their gain.

[She doesn't mean to be worried but she can't help but care about the safety of those in Fayren.]

"We're not 100% certain, but they can be destroyed. However, the Hands will need to be faster than the doll's reaction to be successful.

And my dolls are very fast at reacting."

[Levy nods her head.]

Okay, well... I don't know much about doll magic but if there is a way I can help please let me know.

"If you don't know doll magic, then don't worry about it. Just keep yourself out of harm's way."

[Levy smiles.]

So you're the one responsible for putting those creepy things around the guild?

I don't appreciate you taking it upon yourself to do as you like on someone else's property without their permission.

[ That doesn't surprise her though, given the track record in Fayren. ]

But, well at least I know who to send the pieces back to now instead of just having the things incinerated.

[ She -was- going to let Natsu just burn the remains since she didn't know where they came from and the lot of them had been wrecked anyway, thank you Erza, Kagura and Taurus. ]

[An irritated Alice appeared on screen in direct response to the hostile protest.]

"...You're Fairy Tail, right?"

[One of Alice's dolls soon floated in to deliver a list of all the locations in Fayren. Checking the list a moment, she addresses the girl.]

"...No dolls were placed at your guild. While you do get a fair number of visitations, it's because you are all capable magicians that I decided against placing security dolls in your hall, but instead placed around any nearby buildings.

The dolls were placed in populated, unguarded locations. I don't know what you just destroyed, but they're not my dolls, otherwise I would've known and taken it as a possible attack from the Hands of Decay."

[Pausing a moment to take a sip of tea, Alice continued.]

"Feel free to send me those doll remains anyway, if you want. I'll repair them and give them to a good home."

{ Well then. An army of dolls? Created by somebody named Alice? Suigintou was going to be livid. Wherever he was in Fayren, he turned right around and started headed back to his room at the inn, which is probably covered in black feathers already. He was growing fond of that doll, but she really had a hair-trigger temper.

He wasn't sure how much use they will be against the Hands if they manage to perfect their anti-magic chemicals, and their presence might even provoke them further. He wasn't sure how effective this would be, but he's willing to give it a try. If he starts caring too much about the city's safety... }

Are they being powered by magic, or something else?
