He was far from collected. Every part of his mind wanted to rebel against what he was being told, but what choice did he have but to listen? Maybe that was the worst part. That he had no choice.

"If the solution is so simple and you've got it all figured out, quit wasting both your and my time and get on with it." He grumbled his response, starting to lose his patience again. Tick tock.

Jefferson might have been begrudgingly willing to listen due to zero alternative options, but one thing he would never do was put his other life -- his real life -- on hold. Sure, the life he was meant to live and the life he was currently living waging war in his head would likely to drive him to pure madness eventually, but letting himself forget what he was fighting to go back to would do just the same.
