Accidental Video

I’m not crazy I’m just a little unwell, I know, right now you can’t tell…

[As the video starts the screen is black. a song can be heard playing off of very poorly ridged speakers and with it a sweet voice singing along. Something scrapes against the floor and the phone falls on its side the screen now looking up at Airy who’s clearly enjoying herself.

There is a 3” paint brush in her hand as she frames the white wall with a light purple hue. Her voice and the song ring clearer as she moves along and finishes the frame. With the edges painted she picks up the roller and begins rolling the walls while swaying to the song. Her hips move in a figure ‘8’ as she dances along and paints at the same time.

Other details are visible from the phones location, the floor is covered by a white cloth and there is a blanket draped over the furniture. Behind her is a Samsung Galaxy 8 which is hooked into a small set of speakers with a thin black cord running to the wall where it plugs in.

If you are mean and decide to continue to watch another song will follow, this one getting even more energy out of the unaware girl.]

Action; Library

[After painting Airy moves to the library. She isn’t comfortable along the rows of books but without the internet she needs resources. She takes a table in plain sight, watching as people come and go from the front doors. There is a notebook in front of her and a watermelon pen pinched between her fingers. She lightly taps the end of the pen against the paper while organizing her thoughts.

There are several books positioned in front of her, each one opened to a page.

The tip of her boot taps against the floor as her thoughts hit a very sizable wall. She’s written for school but writing a full length play feels like a large task to ask of herself. She wants to prove that she can do something and she’s at least stubborn enough to keep trying.

Her pen touches the paper and she starts scribbling.]

Sugar Highs… [Closed to Cas]

[What’s better than Pop Rock’s and Pixy Sticks?

The answer is sharing them with a friend who has little to no knowledge of candy. Airy has a backpack filled with different types of candy that she’s brought specifically for Cas’s education. She has gone to at least 5 different stores in Genessia picking up candy she knew and some she didn’t. Anything that looks like it had coconut or chocolate in it was skipped over in favor of pure sugary teeth coating goodness.

When she arrives at Cas’s place she knocks and then wonders if she has the right apartment. This neighborhood doesn’t seem… safe.]

'Mean' is an understatement, but he'll cut her attention-seeking short anyway.

"Nah, you're crazy."

[ Well, watching someone paint their wall wasn't something you usually got a premium front seat view to.

His first instinct was to turn it off, but the longer she didn't notice the more he wanted to see how long it would take her. And the song was pretty good.

He had a feeling she would end up awful embarrassed if he let it keep going, though, so he loudly cleared his throat to catch her attention. ]

Airy.

[ He looked like he was trying very hard not to find the situation amusing but was failing quite miserably. ]

[As a rule, Clay doesn't frequent libraries. In fact, he's only ever done so when looking for information about jobs, and that hadn't happened in, well, for a long time and he's rather not think about it. Now, though, he had another goal: learn as much about this place as possible. The problem was, libraries had sort of starting going out of style, and all his training was in cyber research.

He'd manage, though. He'd never been in the presence of the Creator before, at least not when Talia wasn't fucking with her head. It made her thoughts feel different, so he didn't immediately recognize the presence at the research table. He did when he looked over though, doing his damnedest to keep the surprise from his face. Maybe she didn't notice.

Her and her brother favored one another, he decided. He may not have a firm memory of the Creator, but he'll never forget the terrified face of her little brother.

He went about leafing through the book he'd selected. Maybe she was too distracted to notice him.]

[Even though she now had two places in which she worked in her sub archway she still found time to work at this library. So she walked over quietly, leaning over with a smile.]

You are reading a lot of books at once. They must all be very interesting.

[Airy hasn't noticed the camera on her phone running, so when she hears the voice of the boy echo through the camera she hastily turns, dropping the paint roller on her knee.]

Darn it.

[Dropping the roller in the paint she moves over towards the screen trying to register what he had said.]

It's a song.

Ah!

[The familiar voice surprised her and she quickly turned to find it's source. Of course her phone would have started playing now of all times.

She'd been singing...

Airy's cheeks blush a bright rosy hue as she attempts to grab her phone. Her feet stumble over each over and she falls, her elbow landing in the tray of purple paint. The roller drops to her side and she looks dismayed at her elbow and then at the camera.]

You heard that?

[Please say no.]

[Airy looks up at Belle, heat rising to her cheeks.]

Ah! No, I mean yes, they are but I was just looking some stuff up so I thought I'd leave the pages open.

[She stammers nervously.]

Is that okay?

[Airy is trying to write something across the blank page but her block continues. She glances around at those passing by; this being a main thorofare is both good and bad. Good because she feels safe, bad because she can’t help but watch people as they pass.

She notices Clay; he’s really hard not to notice considering he towers over everyone around him and has two bright blue eyes that look like they can pierce a person’s soul. He’s handsome but he gives Airy the willies.]

You okay?

[The words of concern are out of her mouth before she can stop them. Her jaw snaps shut and she sort of expects Clay to just walk away with an annoyed look on his face. His focus is on the book in his hand which is usually a polite way of saying ‘I don’t want to talk to you’.]

[Clay's eyes dart in Airy's direction at her attention shifts to him. He keeps his expression even and cool. He doesn't know anything about the Creator's friendly nature, or her curiosity, or her kindness. He's a lot more familiar with her screams, and how attractive she was as a pet to someone he'd rather forget.

He nods. His deep voice carried across the table toward her, though he spoke quietly. It is a library, after all.]

New around here. Just trying to catch up.

[ Come on. Keep a straight face. ]

Only the end.

[ His facade was cracking. ]

... and the middle. Maybe part of the beginning.

[Airy's lips crack into a light smile. Okay, she realizes that you're supposed to be quiet in a library but she's bad at that. She does, however, try to lower her voice and is sort of successful.]

Miss the internet huh? [So does she.]

Do you need help looking for anything? I come here a lot.

[For reasons that might be obvious to anyone but her.]

Also they have books from all over. Even other worlds. [It's freaky.]

It's fine, but might I ask what are you looking up?

[She paused for a moment.]

You don't need to tell me, I am just a tiny bit curious

[Each word turns Airy's cheeks a brighter shade of red. She's feels like a cherry or some other equally red fruit.]

All of it?!

[That means everyone saw it.]

Ah, I can't sing.

[At least she doesn't think she can.]

Oh, no, it's fine.

[Airy flashes Belle a warm smile.]

I was trying to write a play but I needed a bases of knowledge about a bunch of different things.

[She taps the first book in front of her.]

This one is about different rock and crystal formations and this one is about mid-evil governments and this is a map. [Belle can probably figure out the map on her own but Airy was on a roll explaining.]

I guess that would be considered all of it, wouldn't it?

[ He gave a friendly grin, dismissing her comment with a hand wave. ]

Listen, I'm bad at singing. I thought you were pretty impressive.

[ ... alright, he had to chuckle a bit. ]

Falling in the paint was pretty funny.

[Airy looks down at her elbow as if she'd forgotten that it had been covered in paint. She quickly wipes away what she can with the white tarp spread out over the floor and then turns back to the camera.]

I'm okay not impressive.

[She argues, her usual self deprecation present.]

You surprised me.

[Airy is known for having some pretty spectacular falls, at least this one wasn't out a window.]

Something like that.

[He glances back to the book he'd been reading, it was random, something he'd simply selected from the engineering section. It was about bridges and not exactly helpful.]

It'd help if I knew what I was looking for.

[Airy raises an eyebrow. Library's aren't helpful if you don't know what you're looking for. Something else the internet is far better at then a library; though the internet also shows you thinks that you don't want to see.]

Well what question are you hoping to answer?

[She assumes he has some idea about that.]

[ He shook his head, hopelessly amused.

But as far as the singing thing? He wasn't gonna let that drop so easily. ]

I disagree. Not in the way that I'll be satisfied with agreeing on disagreeing, either.

[ He was teasing her a bit, sure, but he really did mean it. He wanted her to believe that she had things she was good at. ]

...sorry for scaring you though.

[Airy thoroughly enjoys the practice of agreeing to disagree. It’s something she does often when given the chance. She flashes Jefferson an awkward smile before taking a seat on the floor. She brought one knee to her chest while her other leg kept her balanced. After finding a comfortable position among the paint stains and her roller she picked up the phone.]

I think I scared myself.

[She admits lamely before shaking her head and pursuing the topic of singing.]

You haven’t heard my roommate sing. He can sing but then that’s what he does; musicals and acting stuff. [Which is why Airy will insist that she can’t sing, her basis of comparison is off.]

[Between working on the bike, getting used to having a steady job, and dealing with the confusing male living on her sofa, Cas has been busy, and she's actually looking forward to the evening.

This will, after all, mark the first time she's just hung out with a friend in like...well, ever.

She opens the door...possibly quicker than Airy anticipated. She'd cleaned the apartment, sorted things, and piled Toby's clothes from the back of the sofa to the corner at least. Ass.]

Hey! Come in! Your bag smells like a candy store.

It should.

[Airy steps inside quickly before slipping off her shoes. It's just polite and she doesn't want to make a mess.]

I bought a lot of candy. I even had help. [Not that she needs help picking out candy.]

So you're roommate isn't here right?

[She sounds nervous. Airy has so many questions she wants to ask Cas.]

[Danny usually stayed far, far away from the library. He'd never been much of a reader, even before he'd lost all his free time and then some to superpowered vigilantism.

He blamed Jazz. Nothing made you want to read less than an overbearing big sister insisting that he'd love reading if he just tried one more book.

But sometimes here in Genessia, even Danny got bored enough to visit the library. Today he was just checking out what it had in the way of supernatural history.

It didn't have much. He was just moving to put the books away and leave when he spots a familiar face. He hastily backs up to leave without being spotted.... when in his distraction he lets his arms go intangible and drops the entire stack of books on his feet.]

Ow!

[Belle could figure out most of the books really, but she did enjoy people explaining them to her and seeing the enjoyment they were having in doing such a thing. Books were such a wonderful thing really.]

And all of this is for a play you are writing? Do you know what it will be about?

[ he's mean and he waited for the next song to start. he didn't exactly watch more than a moment of the first one with an amused sort of look before going off and gathering up his laptop. by the time the next song starts playing someone, being this guy, is adding another beat to it and turning it into an improvised remix while it goes. it's not bad. BETTER FOR DANCING, AIRY. ]
