I. A peculiar Stranger [ Action / Open ]

[ Whether or not this was a strange sight to anyone, something odd was happening. Maybe it was hilarious in its own way, it was up to whoever laid eyes upon this very incident. Who really knew what was going on, but there was without a doubt a LOT of commotion going on in the streets of Nova City. It was all caused by a newcomer, who was as dazed and confused as anyone else who first came here. Except this man?

He didn't understand anything about technology. It was clear from his attire--armor--that he was from an entirely different time from this.

The air fills with the sound of tires squealing hard against the pavement, followed by an ear splitting sound of metal against metal. There was no crash, no casualties. Instead there was a greatsword forced into the car, almost as if the man before the car intended on slaying a beast.

Which was what he expected, but what he didn't expect was a man to get out of the car and start hollering profanities at him. Gripping the hilt of the blade, Lazarus yanks it out of the hood of the car; holding it up defensively without a word. For the love of the Gods, someone stop him. This wasn't going to end well. ]

[Airy doesn't venture outside of her little bubble of normal often. She likes Genessia, it's sort of like New York but not. It is it's own city with its own personality and it's what she's grown used to over the last few months.

Now that she's granted herself with a new task, one that involves not only imagination but grammar and spelling, she's off to look for inspiration. This is one of the many reasons she finds herself walking through Nova City. It's easier to write about what you know and while she does have a few ideas she needs something to help them take shape.

Nova City is like a standard cookie cutter futuristic city and it is the last place Airy expects to find swords and men in armour. She jumps when she hears the loud crash, her bright emerald gaze quickly searching for the source.

Gawking is rude but it's hard to believe that this is happening and she can't stop staring.

Airy knows nothing about swords but the gleaming steel looks incredibly dangerous and very sharp in the man's hand. It is probably safe to assume that he's like her and from somewhere else. Though Airy doesn't want to make any assumptions about a stranger holding a pointy sword.

Without thinking it through she steps forward, inserting herself between the man, who has not stopped yelling, and the stranger, who likes using swords like baseball bats. Her hands are up in a defensive position and compared to the two facing off Airy is very small. There is no way that a girl in a white button down and a skirt could really be taken seriously anyway. That doesn't mean that Airy won't try.]

Wait! Wait, wait, wait.... wait.

[The man yelling pauses, confused at the sudden interruption of his angry ranting.]

He's sorry... [She looks back at Lazarus and then at the driver.] and if he's not I am but is this really a good idea? [He's got a sword.]

[ Lazarus' guard remains up, and the great sword shows no signs of being lowered. The man remains by his car, shouting profanities but not daring to take a step forward. Lazarus on the other hand? He stays perfectly silent, eying the man from beneath his helm. In an eerie manner, he begins to inch closer.

By this point, onlookers had begun to gather around, but no one stepped forward, no one dared to stop this man from cutting down another in the streets. The moment he came to this realization, he wondered if he should even dare. It was a tempting thought--he could easily start a mound here and now, but...There were too many witnesses. As he begun to weigh his options, he nearly misses the fact that a girl jumped between him and the man. Hazel optics study her from beneath the helm, and when she speaks; slowly the blade is put down.

An airy laugh escapes Lazarus' lips at her words, he almost declines what she says; but he doesn't. ]

Oh yes, I am very very sorry. Perhaps it is not a best idea, the little lady has a point.

[ He steps around her, and taps a gauntlet a bit hesitantly against the damaged hood of the car. The man by this point is eying him nervously. He goes to speak, but is interrupted by Lazarus abruptly. ]

'Tis a sin to nearly murder someone, especially with a beast. Though I suppose I shall let it slide. After all, I am the one with the sword, and armor.

[Cipher had been keeping his head down for a while, mostly because he was bored of this place as of recent, but the walk in Nova City today in his usual human guise as Liam would actually peak his interest. He watched the commotion from a distance in minor amusement. And here he thought he was displaced in time when it came to being in Nova City.

With a slight smirk on his face, he would casually approach the scene with the greatsword wielder and the angry driver. It was easy to determine who would win in this fight, so maybe he might just play good samaritan for once and try to dispel the situation. Even if it amused him immensely.]

I'm not so sure picking a fight with a man wielding a sword of that caliber is such a good idea.

[He would direct those words to the driver before glancing over towards Lazarus.]

But I'm not sure you would want to test the ire of the little Princess Guardian here either.

[ Now Lazarus didn't expect this many people to appear, to comment on the little commotion going on. He figured he could make it much more interesting, but at the same time acting out so soon would be a big mistake. The man stares between the two, but he nods his head quickly--He knows it's a bad idea, especially with having such an ominous sword pointed in his direction. He soon silences himself, and grunts angrily; before getting in his car.

Lazarus had been watching him carefully, as well as the car as it slowly begins to edge around him. His muscles twitch, as if he was about to hit the car again, but he stops. He stops because of his previous thoughts, and the fact someone was speaking to him. Which was distracting on its own, honestly. Looking over at the other male, he cracks the smallest of smiles beneath his helm. ]

Ah, the little Princess Guardian..? The woman in white, I assume...?

[ Lazarus seems fairly amused about something, and he pauses. Should he worry of this woman...? ]

The ruler of this kingdom, I assume...? Tell me, does she hold any power to truly fear?

[Cipher could only silently chuckle as the man simply left without bothering to challenge. Mortals really were smarter than they seemed sometimes. He really should learn to give them a little more credit.

But this man in armor intrigued him. Was he even a mortal? If nothing else, it was at least easy to tell that this guy was new to the realm.]

Ruler? Far from it. She merely hold jurisdiction over this city alone, but even then, she has yet to prove herself in any form.

[He scoffs.]

And for her power? Believe me. This realm holds individuals with far greater power than she could ever hope to wield in her life.

[ The armored man wasn't quite mortal at all, in fact he was undead. If he were to have gotten hit by that car? He would've came right back, maybe slightly ugly and corpse-like, but he'd be there nonetheless.

Tapping his fingers against the side of his helm, Lazarus hums a little to himself as he mulls over the others words. So this woman held no threat, no power...She worried him very little, and was useless to him. ]

Then she is no threat, even though you spoke as if she was. Though I am curious, what would she have done if I had killed that man?

I assure you, when I speak of her "ire" then it is nothing more than mocking.

[That girl and her 'authority' were nothing more than a joke to him. It also told him just how gullible inhabitants of the world were, if they were willing to vote her in at all.]

She would likely call for your arrest, and then leave others to do the work for her. She was quick to call a bounty on a man she was familiar with upon his arrival and did nothing about taking him on herself. I've no doubt that her deputies and bounty hunters do all of her dirty work for her.

Especially if you had gone to the other cities. She would likely expect the other Guardians to take you in for her.

[Airy watches him and finds his confidence both intimidating and confusing. She squints for a moment when he says 'beast' and then realizes what he's talking about.]

OH! You mean the car. Yeah, this is a road and cars drive on them. It's probably an accident. He didn't mean too and I think in the fight of you versus the car... you won.

[She flashes Lazarus a smile.]

Why don't we not murder and move this off the street?

[She's noticing that people are staring and she is not qualified to handle this situation.]

[ Intimidating, yes. He had this certain air about him, but the way he spoke; with a voice so breezy and calm. It was almost like there was little to worry about at all. Lazarus tilts his head to the side at the mention of the car. Such an unfamiliar word, it felt foreign upon his tongue as he spoke it. ]
Cah-r. I see. What an awful beast it is regardless. Accident or not, if I were to get hit...Gods, would that be a mess.

[ Another laugh escapes his lips, he didn't seem all too worried; but without a doubt getting hit by one of these...cars...would hurt a great deal. His head perks up when she speaks again, and he nods rapidly. He steps upon the sidewalk, assuming it was safe seeing as there were people there. ]

Twas an act of defense, little lady. There shalt be no murders, for.. [ There's a brief pause. ] He was innocent, yes? Angry, and shouting profanities, but innocent.

[Twas a shame, really. He turns his head to glance at the car once again; making eye contact with the man in the process. If only there hadn't been people gathering around. ]

Mocking, yes.

[ He wrings his gauntlets together, it seemed that the mocking tone flew right over his head at first. Sometimes he wasn't all to great with interacting with people, but it seemed he could care less. Whilst the woman he spoke of didn't threaten him in the slightest, he was admittedly curious. This man proved to hold information--Things he needed. The pamphlet proved useless to him, as he couldn't read very well, and he hardly paid much mind to the woman speaking. ]

Ah, so imprisonment would be punishment. That is a tad boring, don't you think? She sounds like a ruler, I hear they get everything done for them, rather than doing it themselves.

This place is so big though, it would be difficult to find a single man even with these bounty hunters and the like. Though it does not matter, the damned man lives on. May the Gods decide his fate another day.

You speak of other cities, though. I am curious...As am I of this place, but it is so loud I cannot hear my own mind.

[Of all the cities in Genessia, Nova City was the one that Azalea was least familiar with. So she explored the city on her own, flying in the air and observing all the technological buildings. Then she noticed some sort of commotion on the ground, with people gathering around a peculiar person and the car.]

[Azalea swoops in to get a closer look. She can't tell which one started this incident, but one of the figures is holding a large broad sword. Azalea hovers in between the two, facing Lazarus. She doesn't dare land, though, as the broad sword suggests that its owner is somewhat dangerous. Instead she hovers slightly above eye level (because for a dragon, she's actually about the size of a human child), flapping her wings gently to keep her in place.]

What's going on here??

[Airy isn't sure she completely understands what's going on but she follows Lazarus's to the sidewalk. After listening to him she feels as if she should be more intimidated. Sure, he's spooky and sort of strange in a way that she isn't familiar with but she doesn't think he's a bad person.

He just doesn't know what a car is.

Airy's fingers tighten around the strap to her bag as they stand there. She feels like she should say something and not be awkward about it. She looks up at the stranger curiously.]

Little lady? [She hasn't actually been called that before.] My names Airy and he was sort of mean wasn't he.

[Airy doesn't much care for swearing.]

[ The man swears loudly at the appearance of the dragon, and on the other hand..? Lazarus' eyes go round--He had seen dragons before, but he hadn't seen anything quite like this one before. He almost forgets that he was holding a blade to a man. Before he can say anything, the man hollers out; ]

This asshole ruined my car!! Walked right out in front of me and I nearly ran his ass over..!

[ A soft sigh escapes Lazarus' lips, as he dismisses the man's yelling. With a dragon before him, he was instantly more fascinated with her, than the steel beast that nearly smeared him across the pavement. Dragons were highly thought of where he was from, and in his time he had seen many hollows worshiping their corpses. Though this one? This one was oddly small. He chuckles to himself over this, but he doesn't say a thing. Dragons were next to Gods in his mind, so it was best not to be rude. ]

Ah.. [Looking from the dragon to his blade, he slowly lowers it. The man looks bewildered that such an ominous man had stood down--Regardless the moment the man takes a step forth; the blade is held back up in that defensive manner again. ]

This man attacked me with his steel beast, so I did what I could and defended myself. It would be unpleasant to die on my first day, don't you think...?

The Gods do not speak of this man's fate, though I wonder if you know; mighty dragon..?

[ Unfortunately, Lazarus wasn't the best person to be around. He had this ability to make people think he wasn't awful, it was a trap. He didn't know this girl, but he was curious--Just as he was with any stranger. Did she hold power, or was she a mere human? Could she continue the shackles he made of the Gods here..? He thinks this over, spacing out in the process.

Her voice brings him back to reality. ]

Airy...A peculiar name, I have not heard of one like that. Little lady is also fitting, but if you do not like it, I shall not speak of it again. [ He places a hand on his chest, and bows his head a little--Avoiding hitting her with the horns of the helm in the process. ] You may call me Lazarus, and that man...I have seen far more crueler people than he. If anything, he was entertainment for the time being.

Airy is short for Ariana but little lady is fine. [She waves her hands nervously in front of her hoping that she hasn't offended him in some way. Airy smiles at him for a moment, her lips silently mouthing his name to make sure she can say it correctly before actually saying it.]

Apparently so have I. [It sounds awkward and she quickly changes the subject.] I mean... there are a lot of types of people. He's probably just had a bad day. [She'd rather give the driver the benefit of the doubt, more so because his car had been destroyed.]

It's nice to meet you Lazarus. Did you wake up in the bay too?

[After learning some things about Elympios, Elize had the ever-so-clever idea to explore Nova City to find some decorations or posters to help Ludger remind him of home. But traveling along the sides of the road, she witnessed the craziest thing.

A man going toe-to-tire with a fast wagon, and winning with a stroke of a huge sword. With her doll, Teepo, wrapped in her arms, they watched in awe. However, Teepo parroted what Elize was mostly thinking as he bounced up and opened his maw.]

"Wowee-zowee! That's a HUUUUGE sword! Probably as big as Alvin's!"

[Teepo settled and blinked a couple of times, and his excited tone of voice died down to plain and simple.]

"Too bad about the wagon, though."

[The young girl nodded in agreement.]

[Azalea takes in both sides of the incident, both claiming that the other was at fault. Which usually means that it's a misunderstanding on both sides.]

Okay, I don't know what happened, but both of you need to let it go right now, before it gets worse!

[She turns to face Lazarus now.]

I can't say I know of anyone's fate. But I try to keep others from getting hurt if I can.

Ah, now that makes sense.

[ She hadn't offended him in the slightest, but he was contemplating on continuing on calling her that. He gives her a curt grin in return, although it can't quite be seen behind his helm. ]

Is that so..? Of course, of course. There are plenty of people, and with that there are many kinds. Bad day or not, his... [ He wrinkles up his nose. ] cah-r is now destroyed.

[ He nods his head in response to her question. ]

Yes indeed. I haven't a clue how I ended up here, but alas. Here I am, in a strange realm.

[Airy rocks back on her heels, while her arms swing loosely at her sides. A million questions buzzed through her thoughts though she is unsure which to ask first or if it is even wise to ask them at all. She isn't completely helpless but her only option against a sword is to run very fast.

She falls into her thoughts allowing silence to settle for a few lingering seconds. Her fingers move to the hem of her button down, tugging at the shirt as if to adjust it. It's a habit and after her shirt feels like it's in place she does the same small tug to the hem of her skirt. It's obvious that she's thinking about something and very nervous.]

You don't sound very surprised. [She looks over and up at him, her gaze reflecting a cautious curiosity.] Does this sort of thing happen to you a lot? Did you read the pamphlet or about the towns? You look like you came out of an RPG so why are you in Nova City and not like... Fayren?

[There are more questions but she stops herself before they spill over.]

'Tis a bit shocking, but if it is my fate to be in a new realm, then I shall traverse on. Though you can say I find myself in odd places quite a bit.

[ Except this place was different, it was so alive. Most of the places he had gone to were swarmed with undead. He wasn't particularly sure if it was a nice change, but everyone here seemed so...mellow. Perhaps his duty would be easier here. He found himself not caring about the Lords of Cinder, and how it seemed like everyone wanted him to bring them to their thrones. He shuts his eyes briefly, letting out a sigh in the process.

Lifting up his hands, he goes to take off the helm; finally revealing the face of such a stranger. He looks as if he's avoiding something, but a small smile could be seen upon his lips. ]

Nay, I hadn't read the pa...pamphlet. I haven't a clue what you speak of, nor do I know of this Fayren. This was the first city I tread into, and Gods...I lack words for this place.

[ The man huffs angrily, and slams his hand upon the ruined part of the car.]

Don't you see what happened? This damned freak came at my car with a sword...! He was going to kill me with the thing!

[The man seemed to have more bark than bite, but Lazarus eyes him a bit suspiciously, before giving an airy laugh. ]

Mind your tongue, man.

[ Turning his attention back to the fae, he appears thoughtful. The dragons he saw burned everything in their paths, they were so beautifully destructive and powerful...He didn't expect mercy, but he supposed they were like some people in ways. ]

If that is what you are trying to keep, I shall listen. He was hardly worth my time anyhow.

[The amount of people watching was slowly beginning to make Lazarus uncomfortable. With this many people, it was hard to strike out. Plus what if they all attacked him once he made a move? He had trouble with mobs before, and needless to say, he'd rather not deal with them. Even if he did haul around a great sword.

The owner of the car goes to shout, but the two of them are suddenly distracted by a voice. Looking over, Lazarus spots a girl and a...Well, he wasn't quite sure what he was looking at, or why it was talking. It intrigued him in an odd way. He looks from the girl, to the doll, then back to the girl.

For once, Lazarus isn't quite sure what to say. ]

Did..I..

Hmmm...

What is that?

[ Incredible. ]

[Airy watches him remove his helmet and has to remind herself not to stare. It's rude and she hates being rude. With a quick nod she glances around, people are still staring but that can't really help when you're standing next to a man decked out in armor.]

Let's head somewhere else? I can explain things to you on the way. [At least to the best of her abilities which Lazarus might find laughable.

Before she forgets, Airy pauses and pulls out a small black book. She grabs a watermelon pen from her bag and begins to scribble down a few notes. Maybe not book worthy but certainly something to think about. Who knows, maybe she'll have a better idea after putting all of her notes together later. With that done she places the pen and spiral back into her pack.]

Okay. Now we can go. When you woke up in Genessia you should have had a box. [Which he might still have on him, Airy doesn't know.] Inside of that has a brief explanation... like the beginning of a video game. [Right he doesn't know what cars are.] Anyway. It also has a necklace and the necklace let us go through archways which are like... replicated world's attached to Genessia which is the one you woke up in.

Inside those archways people can open sub-archways but that gets really confusing. Unless I already confused you... I'm sorry.

I didn't see what happened!

[Azalea had to be honest on that front.]

If he was attacking you, you should flee while you still can. I'll stop him if he tries anything.

[And for what Fae dragons lacked in size, they made up for with their magic. Azalea addresses Lazarus again.]

Thank you. Now, I don't believe I've seen you before...but I don't really come to this city often either. Are you a new arrival?

[Elize doesn't feel really any hostility from him, so her pure, naive little heart compells her to stay and make friends. It wouldn't be the first time that got her into trouble.

The doll in her arms smiles as he speaks for the meek Elize.]

"I'm Teepo! A one of a kind adorable plush companion! And this is my B-F-F, Elize!"

"How do you do? Umm... Is any one hurt?"
