Seeking a person

Betelgeuse opened his videofeed, so anyone who wanted could listen in. He needed help and the more people who caught this broadcast, the better.

"Yo, has anyone seen that babe that cleaned everything up after that one attack? Y'know, the chick with long hair, cute face, nice bod, and a spoiled platypus? She and I had a bit of an arrangement going down, she said she'd do something for me, but then she disappeared! Just like that! So, I don't know, maybe if someone knew how I could get a message to her or something? Only, I really kinda need that favor she owed me, know what I mean?"

Betelgeuse didn't sulk often, but, when he did, he sulked hard.

Um...I don't know who you're talking about but that's...kind of a sexist way to describe a girl, sir! Sorry, I know you're probably worried about her, but...

Do you mean 'God'? in Fayren...?

I haven't seen her recently. BUt the people in Fayren say that if you need to reach her all you have to do is pray.

I kind of think they were joking though.

"What do you mean? I never brought up sex even once! I mean, how else am I gonna describe her? That's literally all I know about her! Well, she had brown eyes, I didn't mention that, but that's all I know. No sex involved," Betelgeuse assured her, but then grinned. "Now that you bring it up though, hi, babes. I don't think we've met."

"I might? I'm not sure. She never told me her name," Betelgeuse explained. "Prayer, huh? Guess I could try it, but she was using the phone device, the last time we talked. What religion is she god of?"

[ Lucy hmmd ]

That.. I'm not sure of myself. I didn't really believe her when she gave her name, and I didn't ask what religion it was if it was any particular one.

I mean, you sound like you're...objectifying her. For her body. Don't you even know her name?

"Huh. Well, no problem, babes, I was just kinda curious. Not sure that would help me find her anyways, know what I mean? I'd really feel a bit weird, even for me, praying to some god from an unknown religion. I mean, when I was alive, that could get ya killed."

"Well, no, but I don't see how that's my fault. Not everyone goes around saying their names all the time. Hell, some of us can't say our names, which is kinda the problem. Anyway, trust me, babes, her body wouldn't interest me so much, if it was just an object," he said, smirking lewdly. "And, like I said, how else am I to describe her? I barely know her!"

[ So much for the theory that he just had a really odd skin condition. Among other things. Heck he could just have been a man in funny makeup! ]

Betelgeuse grinned, shaking his head. "You didn't think I was alive, did ya, babes? Nah, I've been dead for centuries! I'm a ghost, specifically, a poltergeist. You can call me BJ."

Well actually...

[ Yeah, she kinda did. S..she can roll with this! SURE. YA he... seems nice and not at all like the ghosts and poltergeists she reads about. ]

To be honest I had no idea the magic in this place had the power to pull someone who was..dead, here.

[Karla tries to picture someone fitting that description. It seemed to describe her pretty well, minus the spoiled platypus. But he can't be talking about her, as she's never met him before. Who could he be talking about, then?]

Well...that is a rather...broad description...

Well...you could've at least learned her name! Because that's just the polite thing to do!

"Apparently. It managed to nab one ghost with the most!" he bragged, shrugging with false modesty. He gives what he considers a charming smile. It's probably more disturbing than anything. "Good to meet ya, Lucy."

Betelgeuse looked a bit sheepish, shrugging. "I know, babes, but I don't know much more! Uh, brown hair, brown eyes...medium height, maybe? I don't know. Tell ya, though, the gal has some serious mojo going for her."

"I can't be bothered to force people to tell me their names, if they don't feel like it, OKAY?! Now can we drop the name thing, BECAUSE IT'S A TOUCHY SUBJECT!" Betelgeuse shouted, glaring, before taking a deep breath and relaxing. "Seriously, babes, you have some weird ideas about what's polite."

[Eep! Jeb immediately backs down, holding his hands up in self-defense] S-sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't know that!

And...I haven't seen anyone with a platypus, either. A-also...I'm a boy. Um, in case you thought otherwise.

[A flip of her hair as she responds with a slight smirk.]

You might want to be a bit more descriptive, there. Aside from the "spoiled platypus" thing, that kind of description could almost be a dead ringer for me. And since we've never met, that can't be the case!

[Teasing, teasing. And maybe showing a bit of ego while she's at it.]

"Brown hair, brown eyes, major magic," Betelgeuse recited, shrugging irritably. "Seriously, what do you people want?? I only talked to her twice and she was nearly unconscious the first time! Anyway, how many people around here actually have a spoiled platypus?"

"Yeah, sure, I knew that," Betelgeuse lied, not really caring. He had no problem with calling a dude babes, anyway. Right now, he was busy sulking. "Seriously, though, do you have any idea how complicated the name thing can be? I literally can not say my own name. There's magic that's stopping me and the magic chick said she would help! I can't help it she didn't tell me her name. It's not like I COULD tell her mine, know what I mean? I'd like to be able to introduce myself, without a bunch of fuss!"

He paused to light a cigarette, the video feed momentarily floating on its own, while Betelgeuse held the cigarette and lit it with a flame that appeared between his fingers.

"Speaking of, you haven't introduced yourself either, babes," Betelgeuse reminded him.

There could be lots of people with them. I'm new here, so I wouldn't know~! [A brief laugh.] Unfortunately, that also means I haven't seen her. I'll keep an eye out for you just in case, though. Not like I have much else to do!

[She loves being able to say that. She's still unhappy about not being home, but this place is definitely a step up from the hell that was Exsilium.]

She doesn't want him possessing her phone or doing whatever poltergeists do when they're mad. That'd be scary. So she smiles back! ]

Likewise! ..erm, If I see God, I'll tell her you're looking for her... but I wonder if she might have been able to escape from this place..

Well...I haven't seen anyone like that. I'm still kind of new, so I don't know very many people.

Oh...I didn't know that. [turns away from the cigarette, but still keeps an eye on the man] Um, my name is Jeb.

"Well, now ya do," Betelgeuse told him, then waved his hand in a placating gesture. "Jeb, huh? Good ta meet you. You can call me BJ."
