[ Her last memory is of studying for her examination, and possibly falling asleep on her desk.

So her first thought is that this is most definitely a dream. But aren’t dreams of familiar places? She had never seen this place before…

The video feed is grainy at best, and showed a very bewildered, red face. ]

I’m really c-confused! I was studying, now I’m here… [ The recording steadied, and she looked even more frightened than at first. ] ...being randomly transported places doesn’t happen i-in the real world!

[ Well, she’s seen weirder things. Demonic things. But that’s besides the point.

She feels tears at the corners of her eyes and a headache beginning to form.

She takes a deep breath. ]

Take another deep breath and then relax. [He says it as calmly as possible.]

Did you listen to the hologram when you woke up?

Y-Yes… [ But then again she only heard snippets of it all. Because she was, you know, panicking. ]

I’m going to miss my exam date.

[ That was the least of her worries now. But she took a deep breath as she was told, looking defeated. ]

You will..uh..get to it. It's like this, when you come here, time in your world doesn't continue without you. People eventually leave this place, and when you do, you will go back to the exact moment that you came from.

So you'll still make your exam. [Though he can't imagine why anyone would really want to take a boring old test.]

S-So you’re saying that if I was here for a whole year...

[ As relieving as that tidbit of information was, Shiemi still had no idea what was happening. Why was she even here? ]

How long have you been here? [ She was right outside of The Bay, sitting rather forlornly on the ground. She was still feeling the aftermath of her being transported here. ] It must be really long if you know all this.

It'll be three years this December. [Yep. He's been here a very, very long time.] You can kind of still get updates on what's going on in your home world. You go to this place called the Dream Docks. It's like you go back mentally for a little while before your mind comes back to this place. It's weird.

Three years?! [ She gasps. ] That’s awful! It’s so… long. You’be been gone that long and you can return home… and nobody would even know what you’ve been through?!

[ She hasn’t even been gone decently for an hour, and she was already homesick. She missed Rin and Yukio… Izumo… what if she never saw any of her friends again? She’ll never become an Exorcist at this rate.

She begins to tremble from the worry she felt. Shakily she stands and the phone almost falls out her hands a couple of times. ]

So I have t-to go to this ‘Genessia’ place. And find somewhere to stay… job…

[ She rubs her forehead. So overwhelming. ]

It's not as bad as you might think. A lot of my friends are here or have been here. So I'm not alone. The woman you saw on the hologram is actually my bestfriend. She's here still too.

Just..relax. I know its scary and jarring. But it will be okay. I promise you.

But first things first. You are in Genessia already. The Bay, that place you just came out of, is located in Genessia City. That's where you are. There are four other cities that you can access. Nova City, Fayren, Attleton and Everglade.

You can find a job at a place called the employment building, which is located in Genessia City. Apartments are easy to rent, too. So finding a job and a place to live isn't difficult at all. Just go with something that you are good at.

At least you aren’t alone. [ She felt a little bit better now, but she had no one she knew here. She has to make new friends. Although the task was simple enough, but to Shiemi that simple fact alone was daunting and seemingly impossible.

But she’d try anyways. ]

Okay. Okay… thank you, so much. It takes me a long time to understand stuff sometimes. [ She breaks into a shambling trot, occasionally glancing around fretfully. ]

Wait, umm, I n-never got your name.

[ … ]

I’m Shiemi. And, well… I’m good with plants. I had a garden, a big one. I like to work with m-medicine with the herbs I use. [ She fidgets. Why was she telling him this… ]

[He was grateful to the fact that he wasn't alone. He could only imagine what it would feel like to be alone in this place.]

It's no trouble. This situation isn't normal for a lot of us. [He said before giving a smile.]

Nice to meet you Shiemi. I'm Sun Wukong. I'm not much of a gardener, but I love fruits and veggies. I actually have a business in Fayren that involves going into the forest near the city to get herbs and such from it.

Waah!

[ Looks like her cry had shaken someone in a daze. A brunette had nearly dropped her phone, had she not caught it at the last second. However, she quickly recovered, and the distressed face of the girl on the video prompts Konoka's concern almost immediately. ]

What's the matter? Are you okay?

S-Sorry! I just wanted to get… someone’s attention…

[ Now she just felt bad. Shiemi attempts for the best to calm herself, but she is still trembling and frightened. ]

[ Konoka pauses for a moment, mostly to collect herself. ]

It's okay! You look pretty distressed... are you new here?

Really? That’s… so cool!

[ She guessed she was having some good luck. But she wouldn’t rely on it too. ]

You have a business?! You own… that sounds so nice. Peaceful.

[ She pauses before smiling weakly, closing her eyes. ] Wukong-san… may I…?

Y-Yes… seriously, I just got here twenty minutes ago. Or less…

[ She doesn’t have a very good grip on time as of yet. She sits up, placing the phone on her lap so she could see the girl she spoke to more easily. ]

[ Konoka picks up on what she's trying to do, and backs the camera away to give a better view of herself. ]

It's alright... normally we don't feel so aware of when we wake up in those pods, but... in any case where are you right now? Genessia itself is safe overall but it's also pretty big and you can get lost.

In truth, that's only part of the business. We get requested to hunt creatures sometimes too. But it is possible to only do the herb hunting stuff. I know some people would prefer just going after that sort of thing.

And you don't have to be so formal if you don't want to be. But may you what?

Well, uh, I think I’m lost.

[ Whoops. ]

[ She’s one of those people, apparently. Shiemi isn’t really capable to hurt animals. Creatures. Whatever, she’s not sure what kind of fauna is harbored here. ]

It’s how I was raised. Honorifics are, well, respectful. [ Then again her grandmother enforced that sort of ideal on her. ]

But… um… I was just wondering if I…

[ She fumbles, stammers, and then awkwardly goes silent. ]

I want to work there, okay?

Ah, so you are.

[ Konoka's giggle is weak and perhaps so embarrassed that it would be nigh impossible to take it any other way. ]

Can you take a look around and see the names on the buildings? I can probably direct you where you can get help.

W-Well… I just left The Bay not too long ago. I’m headed towards Fayren.

[ She gingerly touched the necklace worn around her throat. The pamphlet and the holographic woman with the white hair said that this necklace would help her pass through different cities with ease. She would have to keep it close. ]

I-I know I just passed by the employment building. I… will have to go there before the day is through.

Well I won't feel that it's disrespectful if you just call me Sun. [He didn't think he was too much older than her anyway.]

Oh! I don't have a problem with that, if you really want to work there. I think you would be perfect as a herb hunter.

Your device should let you keep track of it!

For now, if you need a place to stay, I highly recommend finding the Amagi Inn!

O-Okay… Sun! [ Shiemi can’t help but giggle a little. She felt rebellious, going against traditional values as she was doing now.

Then she brightens up even more, a kindly smile on her face. ]

Really?! I’ve never had a job before. This’ll be fun! [ And a new experience. Those were always nice. ]

I-I won’t let you down!

...Really? This phone can do everything! I’ll have to figure it out…

[ It took her ten minutes exactly to figure out how to use it. She never had a phone before. ]

Oh, thank you so much! Umm… wait! I never got your name! I’m Shiemi! Thank you for your help, again!

[He laughs a little himself. He's glad her spirits seem to be raising.]

I have faith in you. I don't think you could do anything but improve the business with your knowledge.

How the business works is we generally get requests from places to get certain herbs and stuff. I have a map where they can normally be found, and pictures of what some look like. But I'm constantly updating both as we find new locations and go after new herbs.

We receive a lot of requests, so we are never short on work. Not all of them are time sensitive, so you can take your time with most jobs.

I won't send you into the forest alone just yet. When you start working, I'll keep you company until you get the lay of the land.
