[ When the feed pops on, the face of one Annette Renard appears. She looks like any other lady of the late 1700's would look when in such a situation: completely, utterly confused. It hadn't taken her too long to figure things out; but she partially credited that to her time in that other place.

The blonde woman wearily clears her throat before speaking. ]

Erm, hello! My name is Annette Renard, and... well, I... this is not where I was before.

[ She shifts a bit, mentally kicking herself. That wasn't how she meant to put it, but, well. It is what it is. ]

This is not my home, nor is it that other place. Maurice? Alucard...? Are you two here as well? Richter...?

[ There is a pause, and she sighs. ]

If anyone sees a man in a blue coat with long brown hair, please let me know. He is my husband, Richter Belmont. I... doubt he is here, but one never knows. Thank you very much. Ah, also, any other information I may need as well. [ She pauses long enough to hold the manila folder up. ] Other than what has been given in here. Thank you in advance.

You don't have to worry about any random encounters. I have yet to be unfortunate enough to cross paths with a monster so far.

[He's positive that he would be the first person to get mauled if there were any nearby monsters about.]

The closest thing to a monster that I've heard was lurking around here was a dragon. A magician made a mention about them over the network not too long ago.

Oh? Well, that's good to know, at least.

[ Because, you know. Breathing easier is always a nice thing. ]

Mm? A dragon... [ ...there had been a dragon in Dracula's Castle at one point, too. She suppresses a shudder. ] I will have to keep an eye out for it... unless, of course, it is friendly. But I've yet to encounter a friendly dragon.

[His eyes shined with a glint of curiosity.]

You've encountered a dragon before? Was this at that other place or your original home?

My original home. He was guarding the castle that I'd been taken to... my then fiancé took care of it, though.

I would have never imagined something that ridiculously cliche could actually happen in reality.

[All the elements were there. A dragon. A distressed maiden. A gallant hero. The only thing left to complete it was for her to turn out to be a princess.]

Your husband must be stupidly strong to be able to slay a dragon.

It happens more often than you know, my dear. I was not the only one being held captive that time around. My little sister was there, along with two other women.

[ Except, you know. Dracula hadn't creeped on them or anything. Just her. ]

He is! He is the strongest vampire hunter around. As well he should be; as a Belmont it is his job. He can slay a dragon, vampires, werewolves... anything! [ She sighs. ] Ah... how I do wish he were here.

That makes it worse. Are there multiple castles in your world filled with innocent maidens waiting to be rescued?

[He wonders how those villains afford guarding all those maidens with dragons. It must be ludicrously expensive.]

He sounds pretty reliable. Don't worry, I'm sure you guys will be able to get back together.

No, just Dracula's. Well, I mean, there are probably other vampires waiting to kidnap other ladies, but... thus far, Dracula has been the most known. Fortunately he only rises once every hundred years.

[ ...Well, that's how it was supposed to be, at least. Before Richter went and resurrected Castlevania... but that's a story for later. ]

He is... I do hope you're right. I miss him terribly.

It bothers me that it's a normal occurrence. Is there any reason he keeps kidnapping women every century?

[You would think he would have found a different activity that didn't attract professional vampire killers to his door.]

It's a prison. A nice looking one, certainly, but it is still a prison with some attached gardens to make it more interesting. So far I haven't heard that name come up but I'll keep it in mind.

To lure my husband's clan to his doorstep, naturally. His army attacked our village -- the only reason I was spared was because he knew I was engaged to a Belmont. He had planned to turn me into a vampire just to spite Richter, but fortunately for me, he failed.

[ Dracula's kind of an idiot that way, man. ]

I could imagine. I'm certain most everyone trapped here does... I do hope we can find a way out soon.

[ This one... why isn't the camera working? She looks frustrated for a moment, because this technology is ridiculous and why isn't the video working...

[There's a long pause but then a slight sound of agreement. Now that she's actually awake and in full stride...]

This place is quite a cruel trap, young lady. From what I gather of your dress and manners... Well, our captors might find amusement in luring us in with a false sense of security. But so far I have only found this place to be a maze of flowers and beasts. I do not know what prison you were in before but perhaps this may provide a more comfortable setting depending on the skills you have to offer.

[ Annette looks extremely disappointed, but there's not a whole lot she can do about it at the moment. ]

Was he deliberately trying to commit suicide? Any seasoned villain knows kidnapping the hero's lover is a horrible idea and destined to end painfully. It only serves to fuel their burning determination to defeat them.
